I’m letting the introspecting take up too much of my mental activity in a time where my focus should be more towards job interviews. I really need something to put things in perspective so the shit-storm in my head will calm down.

Go about your business as usual, don't even allow the confrontation to happen, if they blow this up just shrug it off, maybe agree with some buddies to leave together if it really gets out of hand. Unless you lied to them by saying you're exclusive with them. In that case I wouldn't touch this one with a 10-feet pole.

This strokes with my experience so far, although I’m actually slowly booking some results with my father. The guy is 61 years old, never read a non-fiction book in his life, but he’s starting to copy my form of calm conversation after I’ve let it purposely escalate a few times. I’ve never been able to hold a normal conversation with this man before discovering TRP, I have a feeling there’s something more to it.
