I stay far clear of anyone who looks like they do body building. Being healthy and in shape is one thing but I’ve dated someone who competed and it’s intense. Everything is about prep, lifting, and competition. No fucking thank you.

Esther Perel has some excellent books on this very topic.

No-you’re not. Don’t alter who you are to appease some feminist on reddit. The percentages people are throwing out here are a bit ridiculous and not based on fact but personal opinion.

I disagree. It’s not a mans responsibility. Preference and responsibility are 2 different things.

I found this to ge a bit dated. I don’t think any gender has a “responsibility” to take the lead. It’s 2020. Though I prefer a more assertive man, I absolutely don’t think it’s his responsibility to lead. Regarding low energy-If someone is introverted and they fake who they are to appease a potential partner-that’s a HUGE fail. Be you. That will land you with the RIGHT partner I also disagree that a woman won’t escalate anything sexual unless inebriated-maybe that’s a thought with teenagers thou…

I agree with this. I make an effort and if someone doesn’t do the same, move along

Crazy enthusiastically would fluster me. I find people with really intense energy like that to be mentally draining. It’s nothing personal of course, just a bit too intense for my liking. I’d say if you can be sincere in your greeting that will actually get you much further.

I agree we all feel safer with someone we know. I guess I would say to just be mindful of your behaviour. If you want to be flirty-do it in a way that doesn’t compromise who you are-because at that point, this individual will expect to see that compromised version the next time. They will be thrown off guard when the “real you” shows up. I suppose I’m if the mindset you need to put your true self out there. If this person doesn’t vibe with that-that’s okay. The right one will.

I don’t think this is healthy advice at all. This is game playing. OP-if you’re searching for deeper connection be true to yourself and don’t filter who you are. There’s others out there that want the same. Do make sure you meet them in person though. To attempt to have deep conversations via text without having met someone can be a big ask.

Meh-I think dating apps are sort of like an op-shop. TONS of rubbish but if you dig, you can certainly find some gems. Yes, it’s effort but it’s exposure. I certainly wish it were easier.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
