Oh, they're definitely more relationship oriented. I don't make a lot of money but I make enough to live comfortably and save a bit. But I've noticed a LOT more matches on apps from older women nowadays and they're all actively continuing conversation and almost always willing to meet quickly.

No. Somebody saying something offensive to you doesn't give you the right to strike them. That's a behavioral marker of a petulant child. Threats should be dealt with carefully and if you believe you could be in danger, you need to involve the police. In principal I agree. In practice, I don't. There are illegal threats. I do know what per capita means. Look at the exact site you linked. They show cases per 1mil people. Germany, the UK, Netherlands, Portugal etc have fewer cases per capita despite many having higher early infection rates and more widespread testing.

That's because it's newer. This isn't a quick death. It can take weeks to kill. Also, the US as a whole has more cases per capita than multiple EU countries. Not to mention the fact that most of Asia (even though they are much closer geographically) has actually done well with this.

I feel like intent to harm should be required for jail time. Reckless endangerment should be met with appropriate fines and penalties. This of course is not an appropriate punishment for causing a leg amputation, but I still don't think she should have gone to jail instead.

In similar advice to this thread, and this sub in general, it can be a numbers game. My dad always gave me this advice about job hunting, but it applies to a lot of stuff. Let's say you have a 5% success rate. Or 1%, or whatever, it doesn't matter. That means, each time you get a no, it's just one step closer to getting that yes. If you're successful with only one out of a hundred women, then each no you hear brings you nearer to that eventual yes.

The problem with more serious punishments for crimes like this, is it disincentivizes coming clean. These girls finally admitted to making it up. Would they have if they faced prison time? Harsher punishments isn't the solution to this problem imo.
