I’m not very familiar with US voting dynamics, but I had a somewhat similar experience with feminism discourse online. I used to consider myself a feminist until I got banned from r/Feminism for a comment where someone asked why men often say “I’m a feminist, but not the man-hating kind.” I replied that it’s because misandrist rhetoric does exist online and it’s increasingly visible, which is why people feel the need to distance themselves from it. I also said feminism feels far more inspiring w…

I don’t know if it’s by design or just the natural evolution of online discourse mixed with engagement-driven algorithms, but modern feminism online is increasingly represented by its most extreme voices. I was replying to someone else’s question on the sub. Their subReddit rules themselves break Reddit policies, but still nothing in my comment breaks their policies as far as I can tell. The ban is a negatively authoritative control of speech and opinions.

What other’s think of you doesn’t change your ideology if it’s backed by strong experiences or logic. Fuck conformity, let them label you as evil. Real leftists are feminists and men’s right activists at the same time, and anyone who is only one and not the other is probably bigoted and not worth talking to. You have to be aware and vocal about your rights in the society and law, but also be aware about the conservative needs your leftist partner subconsciously expects from a man. A bit personal…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
