It's not so much taken advantage of, as not regulated. Market forces will raise prices with higher demand for goods. Expanding the labor force makes labor less valuable. The only counter to that is democracy that bypasses markets. Democracy also depends on an informed electorate though, and we've had a recent problem with that.

Take a few breaths and read what I said more carefully. The comparison presented is accurate, however it leaves out the majority of single childless working adults. Making it look like the data is cherry picked specifically because women happen to make more between the ages of 22 and 30.

Not on the chart. By not being on the chart, they are conspicuously absent and skewing the data presented. You're confusing birth rate mortality with live birth mortality. There are two parts to the statement above. The majority death rate, that's purely biological, of 125 conceptions to 105 births. Is separate from the 105 males born per 100 women, with only 96 men left per woman in the overall population. Men have a higher mortality rate across all age ranges to go with our higher birth rate. Creating a larger population, that dies faster.

1800's and early 1900's state laws in various parts of the US made adultery illegal or imposed fines or required restitution for sleeping with another mans wife. At least one of the southern states still have laws on the books demanding restitution. I think it was Alabama or Louisiana. Up until modern times, women have very often been seen as property by the legal system. So a lot of the laws concerning them are similar to contract law.

Even if you just count deaths by natural causes, women do tend to live longer. It has nothing to do with endurance though. Testosterone is evil to you in the long run, it makes cholesterol much more dangerous. Also men have a much higher mutation rate. Men are the evolutionary test cases, so while some will live longer, most mutation doesn't work out that well, or does nothing at all.
