40, 6'0" 178 married w/ 3 kids Lifts: Deadlift 6 x 225, Squat 8 x 150, Bench 10 x 60 lb dumbbells this week Changed to higher rep range this week in a phased plan from the Mind Pump guys (great podcast), I haven't been super blown away by their program, but it is written down and that makes me do it. I decided I wasn't gaining mass enough and have been incorporating more meat, bought turkey lunch meat for snacks, 6 steaks, and 10 chicken breasts, also tuna for on the go snacks. Was hearing that …

OYS : 40, 6'0" 175lb, DL: 240 x 3, OP: 90 x3, Squat 180x3, Bench: 145 x 3 Physical: Went full monk during the first half of this year, 5-6 workouts / week in my garage. Recently, decided to actually use some of the muscles I have built up by taking it down to 3 workouts a week and getting out into other actual sports. This is more fun and I'll likely look to going back to full weight / training just 3 months a year during the winter. I extended this year more than I originally planned as it was …

40; 6'0", 175lb Deadlift: 225x5, Squat 175 x 5, Bench 150 x5 Turned 40, so been reflective of that. Time to move on. Not sure how to handle dread during covid-19. Always been a weak spot of mine flirting with other women, and I stopped that dead in its tracks a few months ago. Was reading about some 64 year old on here who doesn't play that game and is happyish. Is that me hamstering that I don't have to do it? Yeah it is. I know that flirting with other women works and is like dread level 7 or …

I’ve come back to MRP this year after a break. I’m about half way there. Fixed a lot of stuff and made great strides in self-improvement; but I didn’t make it through the mental model that is preached here. Also, I’m getting use to the shitty replies here; those that made me cry and run off with hurt feeling before. I see now how sweet everyone here is. What I did right this week: Fitness 6’0 175 lb 14% BF DL: first body weight 175 5x5, BP: 150 3x5, Squat 150 5x5 Set PRs for all lifts, but I’ve …

Yep.. 6'1", 158lbs, visible abs. A lot of similarities here. This was me also when I started , so proud of my abs, running all the time and no muscle at all, refused to listen to lifting advice as I was exercising 5-6 days a week already. It took me a long time to come around to lifting. It was a real effort to admit that I should have lifted so many years earlier, a strain on your mental model of yourself. So pissed the first time someone here called me a faggot also. Then I read some more post…

I assuming marathon weekend means your wife is running a marathon, which ends up taking all day and then leaving someone exhausted and grumpy like a hangover x10 for 2 days. Who is taking care of the 3 year old twins during all that? Have you thought of taking a weekend away yourself? Go ahead and plan something out and just be gone for 2-3 days next weekend.

Own My Shit 39 at 175lb 6'0, BP: 135 x 5, DL: 155 x 5, SQ 135 x 10, Ovh Press: 65 x 10, Got under the bar Jan 1 to start lifting. Never would have started lifting if not for MRP.I am seeing some results from lifting having spent a majority of my life performing body weight exercises and endurance sports, about a year ago I added dumbbells. I'm experiencing noob gains for sure. But, on the other hand I can't run 5 miles right now, which is frustrating. Going through total beast on athlean-X. Work…

I've only been writing OYS when I'm completely off track. Time for one where everything was ok. Progress has been good since holidays. Wife: Avoided fighting the day before her period started. Didn't phase me this time. Kudos to me. Goals: Hung out with some attractive women this week. A glaring weak spot in my past but it all came together this week. Really enjoyed it, so I need to make this happen more often. Need to have a guys trip planned out soon. Need to get friends who do stuff. Lifts: L…

I've told her before and reiterated it again this week that I am more than willing to alter my schedule so she can get in some workouts too. More than happy to watch the baby, take him to grandma's, or pick him up and work late from home instead. Whatever. That seemed to calm her down a little, but still didn't bite. Shit, I want her to work out. Keep up the workouts and she will have to start getting in shape to keep up. Might take a few months, your wife is your mirror.

39, 3 kids, married 15yr I’m Coming Back to MRP after a few months off. Things were going so well for so long that I quit. Time to continue to work. Good: I checked a lot of boxes this year for goals. next focus: Abundance theory, not being butt hurt. Flirting. Fitness: I climbed a 5.12- outside on real rock, which has been a long time fitness goal of mine. I quit drinking, quit running, and ditched my family multiple times to go and climb outside. Some thoughts here on ends vs means… yes it was…

400mg-600mg of caffeine is A LOT. 8oz coffee ~ 90mg Be careful that you're not causing more health problems with that level of intake than you are solving with a more intense workout.

Fitness: Great I’ve made some good progress since my work scheduled relaxed 2 months ago. I bought Athlean X program and have seen some gains. I was on the fence about the hundred bucks, but it has been worth it to me, cost of 1-2 sessions of a trainer and you get a 3 month set program. After multiple injuries from weekend warrior behavior I appreciate the focus on staying healthy. Everything feels great, shoulders, hips, knees, and I’ve added a small amount of muscle 2-3 lbs in 6 weeks, noob ga…

4 pack back Back in the mrp thread remembering the advice after a 6 mo break. Had some solid gains in muscle tone last week. I've been reading alwyn cosgrove new rules (abs) and I like the plan. Less emphasis on traditional heavy weight power lifting, more toward athletes and getting ripped. Suits my goals more than getting huge. Anyone paid for Athlene x program by Jeff? Been watching his you tube videos. Helped me a lot with some golfers elbow, the elbow is a hinge joint and only a result of t…

Ha, thanks for reading my wall of text and then ripping it. Priorities, life is about priorities... prioritize what matters and learn to say no.

6 months update -38 175 lbs (+5 fat skinny fat), 6'0", married 3kids, Career Coming back to MRP after 6 month break. I'm a part owner of a small construction company and decided to go out of town to 'save' a project that the President and another 2 other senior employees had screwed me on. 6 months later... project is through the crunch, I'm back at the main office, and coming up to breathe. Overall, I've personally had some major regression in last few months. Basically, this whole year was 2…

37, married 15 year, 3kids 6'0 165lb Looking at setting up a home gym. Kinda pressed for time and I'm tired of fighting over a bench at a crowded gym. Isn't that totally Alpha just to sit on the flat bench for 5 minute rest before I lift heavy for 20 seconds? I can't stand that shit, so I'm going to have to lift at home. Keep cutting my workouts short because I can't stand the crowd at the free weight section. I've been putting it off b/c it looks like I need to spend $1k. Considering the ironma…

covert contract Thanks I wouldn't have read that link above otherwise. I see some resemblance to #2 contract of qualities... Trying to be open minded here that this is not some circular logic.

I agree with this. Age is pretty relevant here along with priorities. Do you want kids, marriage and house one day? How much time are you ok with delaying that. 5 years, 10 years, etc... How much do you want to bang other chicks. Read a good post yesterday about abundance not necessarily being about banging chicks, just possibility of abundance.

OYS 10.18.2017 Lazy Dad needs quick fix to keep wife interested. The constant need to keep wife interested via flirting with other women is a challenge with my current lifestyle. I’ve had some success at my kid’s sports events as a time saver. I have to be there anyway and was lucky that a few moms broke the bell curve here by being attractive. I’ve also had seasons where 100% of the moms were overweight, literally hundreds of women, suburban masses, and not one head turner. No women at work and…

37 Married for 10 years, 3 kids Weight: 170, 5’11” BF: top 4 abs showing, goal 6 pack Goals: Continue to learn / relearn talking to attractive Women. This continues to be my primary weakness. Income is down this year over last year, I work for small Construction Company and profits are not there for bonus, bonus was 40% of my income last year. This is tough on my self-worth. When the cash is flowing in its easy to say I deserve this because I am better than everyone else. Once it’s down the oppo…

Own my shit, 1st post / Married 37 w/ kids 5-9 Primary Weakness: Flirting & talking to other women. Trying to get a hold of this from Athol's book and trying to remember to wear my wedding ring. I feel like I can't flirt it up unless I'm wearing it. Struck up a few conversations last week but have a long way to go. Main obstacle to overcome is I need to be around more women and not so freaking nervous. Also, I'm not quite sure how far to take it, I'm not looking for anything more than flirting, …
