My partner INSISTED on having a conversation with my ex-wife before she met my kids. My wife’s doofus boyfriend, not so much.

Recently single 50 year old. If you are halfway decent and put effort into your profile (I even got new photos taken) you will do well on Bumble.

Get on Bumble. Women initiate the conversation after you match, so if a woman starts a conversation with you, she’s interested.

Pro tip- narcissists do not change. They are hardwired that way.

Get the divorce, but be civil about it. I’m 50, in the process of getting divorced. I went from being in an 18 year emotionally abusive marriage to finding the most amazing partner. My life is 180-degrees different. Life is too short and you’re still too young to be perpetually miserable.

Time. Time is the best revenge. Focus on you and building your life going forward. Her life and plans will fall apart soon enough and there you’ll be, already so far improved you won’t care.

I suggest removing your half of any shared assets and placing them in a secure account before you serve.

This marriage is over, you need to navigate forward now. I recommend getting a good therapist and putting in the hard work. It sounds like you came from a very rough upbringing, but you can process these events and live a very happy, fulfilling life.

Get rid of the ex, hopefully it will make room for a meaningful relationship.

Sounds like the sex wasn’t that great, you live with your parents and you’re too caught up in “tit-for-tat” games. If she was into you, you would know it, but it sounds like she isn’t. A little sex and some cooking doesn’t earn you a concubine.

It doesn’t sound like you were very impressive. What is it you think she owes you?

When she flew into one of her usual rages, kicked the the dog’s bowl of food across the kitchen, stormed off, and was about to let our young daughter clean it up (I told her not to and I cleaned it) I knew this was over. No matter how fine she was in a moment, no matter what we would do to make the relationship work, I finally realized all roads would eventually lead to her throwing a tantrum and slamming doors.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
