Indeed they would be if that were the case, so it's a good thing it isn't.

I don't think the definitions of alpa and beta are that vague, nor are they meaningless. Whether they're useful in any social sense as applied to humans is up for debate, but they do define pretty clear sets of characteristics.

Agreed, but I'm not sure that's "objectification" in any meaningful sense of the word. If I said, for example, "I'm gonna study really hard and get good grades so my parents will be proud" does that mean I'm reducing my parents to praise-giving objects? So then why is being successful enough to attract high-quality women considered objectification?

Unless you provide an actual counter-argument as opposed to this snarky-sounding gibberish, I will have to conclude you're either a troll or an idiot and not worth spending any more time on.

Maybe in some contexts women are treated as objects, but definitely not everywhere. So many songs and movies celebrate being in love, being consumed by desire for someone. I'm talking about romance, not just the "get as many chicks as you can" Maxim mentality. More like "find your soulmate"-type stuff, which is where I think the pedestalization comes from.

While I don't know how serious or widespread it is, it's definitely a known phenomenon. Maybe not as prevalent as it once used to be, but if you look at movies, music, and media in general, it definitely sends a message that women are these beautiful, desirable creatures that all men should want, the worthy guys get them, and if a guy isn't in a relationship or three with beautiful women, he's a loser. I think that's where the pedestalization comes from. The red pill type of thinking, as others …

Like I said in another post above, I've always taken "alpha" to mean confident, dominant, ambitious, etc., while "beta" is the opposite of that. Type A and B personalities, basically. Also, what's with that Manboobz site? That guy has a serious grudge against PUAs and MRAs, like they've personally hurt him or something.

I'm not a TRP regular, but I always thought alpha and beta to mean dominant and submissive, or 'leader' and 'follower', respectively. I don't think it's a surprise or a stretch of logic to assume that naturally dominant, confident guys have more success attracting women than timid, submissive ones. Also, I know humans aren't wolves and so on, but what that new wolf study doesn't mention is when the young males go out to start their own pack, how do they find a female and bond with her? Is there …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
