I literally had the same mindset as you one year ago, then I worked on my self-esteem and had a few successful dates over Bumble (even lost my virginity at 22). Sexuality is a part of our human nature (unless you're just not into sex, but I assume that you're a sexual human being) and repressing it is not good for you and will just lead to more frustration.

What annoys me about dating apps is that for every woman there are like 10 guys. Just last week I had the situation that a girl wrote me first (bumble), gave me compliments, I invited her to a date, she accepted first, proposed an actity and time to meet up, then rescheduled it the next morning and then told me she can't make it in the evening, then ghosted me and unmatched me a few days after it. It's just so damn frustrating, because you're kind of happy you're about to go on a date but then s…

Stop hanging out with her for a while. In Germany we have a saying "Aus dem Auge aus dem Sinn" which roughly translates into "Out of sight out of mind". That's the only way.

I am in the same boat as you. My reason of low self-esteem are my bad hair genetics - I already need to buzz down my hair at 22 y/o. On the one hand I like how I look like buzzed/bald and have those "Damn I look good"-moments and on different days I can go in full depressive-mode and really dislike/hate myself for being almost completely bald at 22. I initially thought that my dating life is completely over because I didn't really understand why a girl my age would want to date a balding/bald du…

I agree with the fact, that being in harmony with yourself and being self-confident is a way better to go and can change many things, but I highly doubt that young women my age will start finding me attractive. I think that a bald head is the biggest turn-off when it comes to appearance-related flaws at my age. There really isn't that much that I can do about it, as it is too late for medication (I think) so the best way to go is probably just to give up and stop meeting women until my late 20s/…

I think that it is a good advice but it is more applicable to men in their late 20s/early 30s. At my age looks are still much more important than aspects like social status, financial situation, your carrer and life goals. I think that I won't care that much about my bald(ing) head in about 10 years but for now I feel like my youth is ruined.

I shaved it off when I was 19. It didn't have the liberating feeling at all, it just fueled my insecurities and made me even more self-conscious, so I let it regrow.

What about the 'fake it till you make it'-approach? Probably not the best strategy for long-term results? My self-esteem is at rock bottom due to me being nearly bald at 22. I just cant imagine being in a relationship with a young women my age due to this. I wanted to try to appear as if I don't care about balding but that probably wouldnt work.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
