Yeeeeaaahh I'm now confused and wary about the... "vibe" or like, "mission statement" of this sub? Isn't this about rejecting bullshit to get an honest, real connection? A HVM would recognize how fucking stupid, costly, and unnecessary makeup is, and not require his partner to wear it. Every actual HVM gave me affection in equal amounts whether I was wearing it or not. Like, ok fine, if you enjoy it then do it. Just stop lying to yourself and others about your actual motivations and influences.

Why do we always have to put that disclaimer, though? It seems like such a pitiful, pathetic, doormat-y low self esteem disclaimer, like you're embarrassed to talk about your own thoughts and opinions. Who cares if men are hated??? If women spent even 1/16th as much time addressing misogyny on other subs/sites as they do policing other women's (extremely justified) "hatred" of men, patriarchy would be over in a week.

This all stems from the idea that because women have the ability to create life, men have a corresponding amazing ability, but they don't. So, men's emotional stuntedness (is that a word?) is just that - there's no silver lining, no consolation prize. It doesn't reflect on women in any way I'm honestly sad this is too long to tattoo on my forehead, because I desperately need everyone to recognize this.

Off topic, but thanks for bringing up Emily Bronte. She died of hyperemesis gravidarum, which a lot of people do not take seriously.
