I noticed she was holding it. Did you notice that she "brandished" it toward the ground and close to her body? Aggressive posture, yelling sure. No clear threat of harm.

That's not self defense. Those gestures were to punctuate her words, not to threaten attacking him. He has the upper hand clear as day and struck first. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills

Have you considered eating slowly/to the point of not feeling hungry only? Do you know whether that roughly corresponds to your calorie requirements or not?

Not actual weapons, the general imagery. I understand the wording wasn't sparklingly one hundred percent clear but that's something I would have expected to be understood.

You're kind of proving my point here, trying to twist my words to somehow lead them towards your pet subject of violence against women. Misinterpretation is an art and the ironic thing is I don't even think you're consciously aware you're doing it.

Just men, in general. And they use them in general, toward everything, of which women are a subset

My armchair psychological analysis is that men tend to like weapons and violent imagery, while women tend to be very much more risk averse. I think that's the reason it makes you uncomfortable and you're trying to come up with your own explanation and justify it by associating it with negativity (insecurity) to delegitimize it in order to assuage your discomfort.

The way it looks on paper at least they don't appear to overlap that much. The reason this guy is attractive is that he's athletic and (was at least) financially successful. Not too much overlap with sexual assertiveness, violent behavior, and aggressive behavior, what you might think of when you think of the "thug" archetype of the black community mentioned above. The basic tl;dr of attractive masculinity is dominance/power/capability/success. Athleticism and physicality in general is directly …

A man can be attractive for one or more of a multitude of attributes. The attractive facets of toxic masculinity and what makes this guy attractive are fairly different.

You're not getting the point. If a behavior is incentivized in any way, that behavior will be more prevalent than if it wasn't incentivized. It's about simple cause and effect.

Also, there isn't a "pressure to be buetiful" for woman. Half the songs on the radio now are about telling women not to try. Meghan Trainor has made a career normalizing and encouraging apathetic behavior from women. And lets not forget "You don't have to try try try..." You have got to be shitting me. There is absolutely huge pressure on women to be beautiful. Let's not have the blinders on here. Meghan Trainor, HAES and such are striving against that pressure. That's exactly why they're popula…

If a non-trivial number of tall people I encounter in my life punch me in the face and steal my lunch money, and I read lots of stories of tall people doing the same on the internet, it would be reasonable for me to be somewhat prejudiced against tall people, no? Basically all you're saying here is "generalizations don't real."

I've been on a beginner program for about a year and I've pretty much plateaued on all the main lifts. Want to cut but tweaked my back so I can't squat or deadlift, how should I proceed?

Err I know quite a few strong, successful, and aggressive men who have problems with relationships. Who said anything about relationships? Do these guys get laid?

It's a technique that acts as training wheels to snap guys out of the insecure thirsty chumpness, exactly because they're not comfortable enough to be silly and make fun of hot girls. The entire purpose of the technique is to get to exactly what you said. The only difference is that you learned it organically

'negging' is specifically done with the intent of lowering a woman's self esteem in order for an RPer to feel superior in turn no, it's to take a hot girl who knows she's hot off her pedastal. It's to demonstrate that you're not blinded by her attractiveness like all the other thirsty chumps

I don't believe you need to have power to be loved. This just isn't how most of the relationships I've seen work. I think I'm better than my boyfriend in some ways (and like respect, the word better needs a scale). He certainly isn't more powerful than me. And I still love him. I think you're misunderstanding the meaning of "power" here. It's doesn't necessarily mean being a CEO or a dominant alpha male, there's a spectrum. I think a better (i.e. more sanitary) way of thinking about it is capabi…

I'm going to tell him what to look out for with women, not men. There's already a wealth of information on what to look out for with men. It's practically a national hobby at this point

So now the question is what counts as dishonor? Being fucked by a goat? By someone who paid you for it? Being gangbanged by 300 dudes in front of the entire world to save your SO's life?

Seems extremely unrealistic and like a masturbatory exaggeration to me, but I guess you're entitled to think whatever you want. Thinking as realistically and honestly as I can I can't possibly fathom any scenario where given the choice between sex with someone/something and death, I'd choose death. It's simply not within the realm of possibility for me. Extremely unpleasant, sure, but worse than death? U kiddin me? My life is the most fundamentally valuable thing I have

lmao talk about a pretty lie you must have literally zero concept of actual, in-person violence, let alone what having even an unloaded gun pointed at you feels like
