Wait…what? The theory of patriarchy based on the feminists does not include men keeping women lower hierarchically?

Social media has created a soap box for all. There is no “feminist leader” that would change what others are saying online.

So the fact that women did not have the same rights as men did not exist? Or didn’t matter? The feminist movement started as a way to break down those barriers and give women the same rights as men (like voting, owning property, birth control, credit cards).

Do you deny that historically there have been patriarchal values?
/r/MensRights13/05/25 02:40 AM

No. It means the mediocre men (not the Einsteins) were more likely to be given priority over women who were better. You can’t deny that women have been treated as lesser than through most of our history.

There is no age limit on “not looking for anything serious”. That’s just him being honest about what he wants. And 35 is not that old, especially for a guy.

You are one of the smartest people I’ve seen on Reddit. Keep that mindset. Don’t let the stupid online masses sway your thinking. It actually makes me sad that so many people are shaping their worldviews on what some idiots say on the internet.

Not true depending on the job. Pretty sure more women have died from childbirth complications than men have working in an office. Also, there are plenty of women who have dangerous jobs.

As a woman, I will never say all men are violent, not even most. Just as I won’t say all women want {insert cliche} because I personally don’t fit into that category. There are plenty of violent women, plenty of sensitive men, so many of us (men and women) that don’t care about height/body type/salary when dating. The generalizing prevents us from understanding each other.

I will admit that I read your post with an annoyance of many other posts that absolutely generalize too much. As in “all women want a chad”, “all women want a guy over 6 foot”, etc. Looking back, you actually articulated the fact that you were not generalizing as much, and used terms such as “many” and “often” which I do appreciate. I may disagree with your point, but mainly because I’m not “all women” and am frankly tired of such claims. I do not agree that men against abortions are the same as…

I may be out of line here, still haven’t figured out this sub, but why do we keep generalizing? It seems every argument stems from generalizing. All women do this, all men are like that, every single person of a certain gender/race/religion/whatever only has these preferences or acts in a certain way. Jesus Christ we are all different people. Some of us are good people, some are awful, some are judgmental, some are super accepting, etc. Toxicity exists in all walks of life. So do great, caring i…

It’s the “mean girl” mentality. Lots of women grown up around the “mean girls” so they think that’s how they need to act. It’s how you become part of the club. Any girls/women who go against the grain are shunned. Source: I’m a woman.

I’m not sure that telling someone not to be surprised that they were raped because they wore a dress is the right way to handle things. Would you tell a man who was robbed that he just shouldn’t have been walking on that street? Or the man whose car was jacked that he shouldn’t have been driving through that neighborhood? Not to mention that plenty of sexual assaults happen to women who are not wearing revealing clothing.

I no longer consider myself a feminist as the word has definitely taken on a new meaning. I actually hate “toxic femininity” just as much, which is why I can’t stand most “safe spaces for women”. It’s only safe if you subscribe to their bullshit, otherwise you’re called a misogynist or told you’re hurting the cause. I think people should be able to be whatever and however they want to be without worrying about what society’s majority thinks. I like hanging out with guys, always have. But that se…

I tried to read it, made it about it halfway. The problem I have with “toxic masculinity” is not how it affects women, but how it affects men. I (used to) consider myself a feminist because I have experienced sexism. But I’ve learned, through age and wisdom, that this toxicity negatively affects men, because they think they are only allowed to be a certain way. Misandry exists as a rebuttal to misogyny, but it has gone too far. I like this sub better than some of the “girl” subs I’m on because i…

Did anyone read the article? It says (only for Europe and Canada btw) that women are doing the child rearing and house expenses, while men are doing less. It also says that none of this is true in the US.

Because women have been told for years to just abstain if you don’t want kids. They’re just turning that same statement around on men. Also, twitter is a dumpster fire.

I believe this list applies to everyone. As a woman who was used for her house and money, was in a violent marriage, cheated on, and did not know my self worth until my late 30s. We all need to be kinder to others and ourselves.

I commented on a post here once, was not even aware of this sub, wasn’t paying attention, and got banned from another sub. So I joined this sub because it must be cool if it’s so “controversial”. Honestly, this sub is better than any woman sub I’m on because there are actually some level-headed people here. I don’t agree with all posts that are against women, but I get where they are coming from. I’m a woman (straight) that doesn’t like what women online have become. It’s great you guys have a s…

Women who say that are no different than men who call women who won’t sleep with them “sluts”. People are assholes.

Yes, I’ve washed shit stained underwear for men I was with. But like I said, women with shit stained underwear are just as gross as men with the same. Wash your ass, it shouldn’t just leak.

Wipes exist? And a lot of people have hair on their asses. Not all women get Brazilian waxed. (I would love a bidet. They sound nice.)

Women have almost constant discharge from their vaginas. Men with stains are usually from their ass. Not the same thing. Unless you see a bunch of women with shit stains on their panties.

My husband passed from testicular cancer. He was first diagnosed at 31 and it came back twice, the second time with a vengeance (all over). I was only there for his last 4 years as we were both married to other people before that. He was my high school sweetheart and the love of my life, and passed away at 41. I had a lot of trouble dealing with my own mental health once he was told he was terminal. Know what I did? Talked to a doctor and got on Zoloft. Did everything I could to support him no m…

As a woman, talk to her first. Become friends. Then see if it’s something you’d like to pursue. You seem to have a lot of ideas about women and relationships that are from the internet that aren’t true in the real world. A true relationship should be with someone you could be friends with, share common interests with, enjoy each other’s company. Just because a woman is attractive to you doesn’t mean you two would be a good match.

I like this sub, and I hope you guys are ok with a woman’s perspective. If not, let me know. The good women are like the good men, it’s all about perspective. I don’t look for a guy who is “nice”, “has money”, “a certain height”, etc. I hope to meet a guy who I can get along with as a friend and also have an intimate relationship with. I want someone who “completes” me, as cheesy as that sounds. I have had that, so I know it’s possible. I also strive to be that person to the guy I like. I’m in m…

I stumbled upon this sub accidentally, then immediately got banned from another sub (lol). I’m in multiple women subs (I am a woman) and so far this sub seems so much more grounded than any of the chick subs. I guess what most people need to realize is that these anons on Reddit are not a good example of people in the real world. Most of us think the man/bear argument is stupid. We respect men just as much as we do other women. The women in those subs need this reality check. Not all men want to…

I’m all for equality in every aspect. I’ve grown tired of the man hating in some subs, but I have seen some pretty nasty things said about women in others. My stance is that we’re all people, some of us are good, some bad, all different. If communication is key, then we should be able to use Reddit as a way to have anonymous conversations we aren’t comfortable having in the real world, without the parroted judgments of teenagers and chronically online folks.

I always felt it was weird that men wanted to be OB/GYNs (kinda like who wants to be a proctologist?) until I lived next door to a med student who had that goal. It might be because the first I had was a male resident when I was 16, or it may be the few female doctors I had that were crappy, but male doctors have always been my preference. Edit: as soon as I commented on this post that popped up in my feed from a sub I’ve not joined, I was banned from another sub for participating in a red pill/…

I am a woman who prefers male gynecologists. In my experience, women doctors have been judgmental and only used their experiences as truth. A man can’t do that and usually will be overly gentle and careful.

You’re more picky, and that’s fine. If all you care about is losing your virginity, then do that. But you seem to care more about who that person is, which is commendable. Don’t try to compare yourself to others. Some day you will realize that makes you the better person.

You like the same Netflix shows and both enjoy taking walks. Common interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 04:56 AM

Sometimes people say “I have to ask my spouse/partner” because they don’t want to tell you “no”. Some people like being in a relationship and their partner becomes their best friend. A true friend would still be their friend without constantly needing them to hang out.

Oh we know we are. We complain about that too lol. Like why do I always make such bad decisions?

That’s fair. I’m just tired of the complaints that women only go for certain types of men. I wonder why men would put any value on a woman who overlooks them for some other guy just because he has a higher paying job.

I hate to break it to you, but things aren’t as simple as “men are this and women are that”. Women sometimes don’t want relationships, women cheat, women abuse men. Men sometimes want to settle down with one person, or stay in abusive relationships. Generalizing these things leads to so much misinformation. Also, men seem to be the ones deciding what women consider “high value”. Some people do put more importance on morality, personality, similar likes/hobbies than wealth and status.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 11:20 AM

That’s just awful. A relationship working out should not depend on how easily you could sleep with someone else. That leads to people either staying in bad relationships because they think that’s the best they can do, or ruining potentially good relationships just because they could have someone else. It happens all the time but that doesn’t make it right.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 11:03 AM

I’m pretty short so that’s not likely, but most guys I’ve dated have made less than me (and I don’t make 6 figures) and they have had less education than me. Degrees do not equate intelligence.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 02:15 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 02:05 AM

The women who only look for status/career are also the ones who want to be independent? The women looking for a man with all the personality/moral qualities she seeks is also concerned about money? Woman are not one entity. We are all separate humans with separate wants/needs/preferences/life experiences.

As a woman, I think the option of sex differs greatly depending on what the person wants, men and women. Men have plenty of options if they’re not picky on who that sexually partner is. Women are the same. But when talking about relationships, that all depends on if you find someone you can have a good relationship with. Anyone who thinks your “fuckability” can be used as “leverage” in a relationship is not in a good relationship.

I’m 42. I am often told I look like late 20s/early 30s. I get carded for cigarettes sometimes. When I was in my mid 20s I legitimately looked like a teenager. I’m short, don’t wear makeup, and have a round face. It doesn’t help that i sometimes dress like I did in the 90s. Some people just don’t look their age.

We cannot control what others feel or do. We can only control ourselves, right? If you are relying on other people’s opinions of you, then you cannot be your true self. Unless you are a truly garbage human, there are people (potential friends or partners) who will accept you for who you are. Try to stop looking for a “partner” and just find friends. Your expectations are what controls your interactions with others.

The main problem I see is worrying about what “society” (or social media) thinks. In reality, there are so many people just trying to live their lives, unaffected by the expectations of “society “. Our problems are very real to us, but we don’t blast them to everyone who will listen. We just try to be the best people we can be and do the best we can. If people see us for the wonderful humans we are then cool. If they don’t, then fuck ‘em.

As a woman I have the same problems. But what you don’t understand is that society doesn’t care about women’s issues, which is why you hear so much about it online. Our medical issues aren’t taken seriously, we are expected to deal with painful procedures without anesthesia, all because some women “didn’t think it was that bad for them”. The problem with your opinion (and I don’t mean this to be insulting, just uninformed) is that you seem to think that women have it so easy just because we are …

It’s not that women don’t want to be empathetic toward men, it’s that women have a lot of the same problems in the dating world. It just seems different due to expectations. I can’t just get out there and hope to meet someone who I get along with. People have so many different opinions on what relationships and dating mean that it’s hard to find someone who is on the same page as you. In reality you need to “get yourself out” to people who share common interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 01:42 AM

You are correct, and all of these things are terrible. But the problem is that some men blame women for all of these things, these things that affect all people of a certain class. Inceldom normalizes violence against women in their posts, and that makes some think it’s ok. What we need is for everyone to understand that we are all different people, with different life experiences, and different values. All women do not seek out a certain type of man, and all men do not suffer from toxic masculi…

Am I to assume that all the people answering are not overweight themselves? Because my ex gained 110 pounds while we were together while I (already “not skinny”) gained 20 pounds, and he left me for some other chick because I was “too fat”.
