I am deeply worried about this. I will give it one good listen, but if comes down to “discussions” about a woman’s bodily autonomy (pro-life bullshit), the legitimacy of LGBT+ rights, or racism cloaked as “economic interests” then I’m out. Tbh, I feel you’re making a huge mistake here. We don’t have to give a seat at the table to obvious evil, and that’s what anyone right of center is (yes, I stand by that). The left has HUGE issues, but I don’t believe the answer is trying to find common ground…

Holy shit! You jusT described the relationship my friend has with her fiancé. Yes she marrying him. No he’s not in school. No he doesn’t have a job. Yes he sits at home and plays video games all day. She supports him with her career. And he can’t even be bothered to clean up after himself. Honestly the arrangement is mind boggling to me. Maybe there’s something I’m missing. He’s not mean. I didn’t even consider this, and I 100% should have because I paid over $1000 in medical bills to get my IUD in and then checked via ultrasound to make sure it was in place!!! But my IUD benefits any male partners I have. Such a great point. My friend currently is on the pill. I bet he’s not paying 50% of that copay each month.

I know because I did this too, and like you a light bulb went off (it was after reading the book FED UP) and I gave my ex an ultimatum. He put in a good faith effort in for a few weeks (including the therapist), and I thought things were changing. Then he fell right back into his old habits (and stopped therapy). I did too, until I broke down again and had another ultimatum talk. You can see where this is going…
