This, so much this. I dated the "musician" who wanted me to listen to his crappy songs. Dude you're not signed to a label for a reason, and that reason is zero talent.

Agreed, I wouldn't get rid of someone's cats but I hate cats enough that them having them is a deal breaker to begin with. This is totally a stretch OP is making. So many people wouldn't date people with cats or dogs or snakes or whatever if that's their preference.

Omg that's sooo scary...specially the threats and showing up like that. You did the right thing, I'm glad you called the police and stayed safe.

Brief story time....I used to not be a great person and had FWB. Yeah I agree 100% the whole "it won't turn into something more" is a lie. I used to objectify men and knew it was just causal, but I thought they would be on the same page and only want to sleep around because we didn't want commitment with them but wanted sex and found eachother attractive enough. The reason why I stopped was not because I found someone I actually wanted a relationship with, but because all my sex buddies would en…

Unrelated related question....is there such a thing as only banning certain functions? I can't submit any posts (one time I tried submitting something my app crashed and submitted it about....10 times, now it won't submit at all) only in this sub. But I can comment and upvote/downvote just fine. I thought it's probably the crappy app but idk.

This is possible...I surround myself with HV people as much as possible, vetting friends and family, not just partners and dates. When most people in our circles are working on being their best self constantly and share our values, it's easier to find partners that would also be HV. I believe that because of this growth, men that could've been LV or NV at some point of their lives may now be HV, so I don't focus on my partner's past, I mean after seeing for red flags, (everyone has a past), try …

Global resistance to what? Weren't we told constantly that sexual orientation is something we are born with? This tag implies it's some kind of decision.

We need to take action and know it's importance, but not stress over it to the point where it affects our lives and can't function because of it. I've know people who experience intense anxiety from things like global warming or world hunger. Their should not give us a daily panic attack. Instead we can volunteer in organizations with programs to aid these causes, support policies that aim to fix them, and educate others about them/raise awareness so more people can join the collective efforts.

Things are always bad, things are also very good in other aspects, all around the world, for all people. If you only focus on negative things that are out of your control then yes, it will personally be worse because you'll overthink it, stress out and not live your life out of fear of what could be. My advice is to keep leveling up and if you want to contribute to improve the world, do so in your immediate community, where you can see the effects and impact of your work. And to stop watching th…

Thank you for this post. I sometimes feel so bad when I visit because I try telling people this isn't that! Like ....FDS should be full of women who love men and want to date them and have healthy relationships, by bettering themselves and learning how to set boundaries, communicate what we want, seek compatible partners who want the same things, etc. Love those HV posts that recognize what a good date or a good behavior is. More of those please. What I see from time to time: never dating again,…

Yep I'm early 30s but look mid 20s. When I was mid-late 20s I looked in my early 20s, and so forth. Sooo I've always seen this. They try to justify it with "oh but you're actually X age" yeah but you don't talk to people my age, you talked to me cause I look younger.

Even if you did care about a man seeing them...if they're at the point of seeing you in underwear they better not care what type you chose. I used to care until an ex told me he didnt cars about anything I wore, when he saw me in underwear it meant we were about to have sex and he was only going to see the underwear for two seconds anyways.

Yeah they don't directly address how ugly and fat Hal was, that's for sure, but I think that's cause they want to make him seem even worse, not only is he shallow, he is also your average incel, as is his friend (he even has a tail?! But is still being women to impossible standards). The part I do hate about it is that he only changes when he thinks Rosemary is incredibly attractive and caring and nice? That's impossible! She's supposed to be shallow too, cause she's so pretty! And then he gains…

I wasted a good portion of my time with HS bf I thought we would end up together but he (surprise surprise) never stepped up to being an adult. My advice is: don't commit to anyone seriously, focus on building your future and getting your foot in the door to a career and to becoming a full responsible adult.

Billie seems like all her feminist talk was out of being insecure and now she's given into her pickmesha side. Older creepy bf, half naked photo shoot? Idk if she's advocating for/promoting sex as well now but wouldn't be surprised. She used to be praised for daring to wear baggy clothes and being weird like she was against the status quo and expectations of beauty for women, but I guess her marketing team did that for her.

I once had a midget show up and I left immediately. I didn't even have any height requirements but maybe disclose that beforehand? All the pictures were from angles that made the dude look normal height. I'm not ableist at all, but it's basically catfishing.

FDS toxic behavior #1 I've learned is to simplify things by seeing if they for within a set of rules. I no longer have to spend hours taking to my mom, sisters, friends, googling and over analyzing toxic behaviors. Now I know and don't make excuses for the men responsible. I believe this one is #8, benefit of the doubt is not in my vocabulary. :) Another very toxic FDS behavior: I learned other women are allies and we can pull eachother up. This one is toxic because if we help eachother to open …

I lost a lot of my 20s to mental illness, a codependent bf and long hours at work. What worked for me was to join activities and hobbies with strangers. I started volunteering and going to events I found on Airbnb and Meetup (parties mainly but also karaoke, boardgames, language exchanges). Another thing I did was focus on leveling up, therapy kinda put me into that mindset. So I focused a ton on getting better healthwise and being at peace, tried religion, travelling, hit the gym, welp anything…

Yesterday a dude legit told me most things on this list are seen as "gay" and doesn't even know any straight dude that has a skin care routine. I said that's weird because that was every guy I went to college with (still not HLV but they took pride in being "metro sexual").

You love making drama! Why are you so angry/upset? (Applies also when you're not doing anything, just are quiet or decided not to smile 24/7) Also add how they will mansplain, and how it might happen that she gives the right answer or comes up with an idea and it goes dismissed until a man says the same thing and he gets the credit.

Yeah, I can't believe they're in the same category. Motivation for crime should be a part of the classification instead of just the murders.

It's so weird...today I had a conversation about how all the true crime criminals are men and the serial killers have sexual motivations. When looking up female serial killers, some also had weird motivations for killing but never sexual. A lot were financial profit, delusions of being an angel of death (nurses and caregivers mercy killing) and a lot killed their direct families. Even some were prostitutes getting revenge on their rapists. I mean I still don't get why there's one that killed 400…

I've mentioned this before...watch serial killer crime shows. Every other "kink" is a thing these murderers did to to their victims. Many people lack empathy and only understand why something is dangerous or wrong if they can imagine it happening to them. Have the person arguing with you imagine if they would like to be one of the victims and they'll change their minds.

Same! I don't talk to them about this community until I've seen them respond well to those types of statements, but for sure we are doing good work here. The key is to not make them feel victimized or like their choices in men are stupid, it's that particular man she found that is the problem, and there's good men out there that she deserves.

Sounds like he is competing for attention with his own baby. Total narcissist, poor woman already has a kid with him :(. Storytime! I knew a dude that was eternally depressed and had a toddler with his wife. He said she was abusive because she was cold and unwilling to support him after SHE miscarried their second child. Would make the little girl emotionally support him, said "empathy came naturally to her" at 3 years old! Of course he never lifted a finger for anything and when she eventually …

I personally don't ask random people for directions because it implies I'm lost, phoneless and vulnerable, not because I'm trying to be kind to other women's needs. When I've most gotten asked it's been men driving a car with their families in it, looking legit lost. I usually just Google even if I know where they're heading, I open up maps and turns out the wife already had the gps going or is literally holding a map. In my experience, women definitely approach me more when taking public transp…

You now understand why Grandma never got remarried after widowing. You can relate to the crazy cat lady trope in any way, cause fur babies deserve all the love instead of wasting that on a LVM. You're now the wise normal friend of the romcom-pick-me, with phrases like "but he lied!" And you know you're getting ignored anyways, but a rescue mission is a rescue mission. Smile every time you remember sex toys have all sorts of high tech functions. Added more than 10 requirements to your already "hi…

I go by the rule of fairness, whatever they wanna do to me, I say I'm down as long as I do it to them first. No man has ever wanted to be pegged, strangled, deep throated, etc. The ones I keep talking to usually react with oh shit omg I'm so sorry! Like they just realized what they asked. Most normal guys are actually not into any of this shit either and are trying to also sound kinky.

Well...as someone who also has mental disorders...this doesn't get cured a lot of times, it's a chronic condition and you deserve to be loved and to love someone and be able to be close with people. If the condition had been something physical, say diabetes, you wouldn't wait to "get cured" to allow people in your life. There's no excuse to being an asshole to people because of mental illness, but if it's manageable, if the person is treated professionally or has it under control/doesn't use it …

Ok so I used to have casual sexual "relationships" and I wouldn't shame anyone for not wanting to do so, but it would be very annoying to me that I was on the same page as the guys, we both wanted to only fulfill a biological need...and then they would fall for me. I was always very clear that I wasn't interested in anything else because I didn't respect or values them or cared about them as a person. I wanted a flesh dildo and then, didn't see it as fee prostitution, as I'd be just as bad as th…

They're married, that's part of the agreement. When this community means not to split expenses, it's more directed towards guys you're just starting to date. Realistically both spouses work and generate expenses, so they split them, like they should be splitting chores, mutually caring for eachother in the same amount, etc. Fairness and equality are acceptable vs depending 100% on a man because we chose to believe he should be able to provide so we're entitled not to. Never rely 100% on a man fo…

You're right! I've only recently seen that apparently men think they own financial knowledge....but I personally had more women in my unit than men, I majored in accounting and 1/5 of the students went on to work in finance related jobs...so logically for me it's not at all weird to have women know about the stock market.

Probably men answering the thread claiming to be female sex workers? Otherwise there's no way in hell anyone would think a dude paying for sex is sweet or nice or deserving of any affection. Clearly those guys can't get laid otherwise.

Thanks, I like how you also clarify the different types of resources. I'm a sucker for an intimate home cooked meal after a few weeks of dating. Shows time, effort and thoughtfulness, but it could be seen as being cheap/not wanting to take you out somewhere. That's kinda the vibe I was getting before I asked this question, that we should always be expecting them to spend money.

I came to terms with it by, and this is cliché sounding ...doing bucket lists. I was so scared that I would no longer be able to do anything that I started reaching out for experiences before it was too late to do them. One day I realized that if I hadn't had that timer on, I might as well have drifted through my 20s (I'm 30 now) instead of actively deciding what to do with my life. Chronic health issues put priorities into perspective, even FDS mentality started for me when it hit me that life …

I love this. I have an invisible disability and I'm always upfront about it because it interferes with...well, life. I've had it all of my adult life and am perfectly fine with it emotionally, but I've noticed right off the bat I get three types of reactions: Fake pity party trying to put me down and talking about me like it's my funeral. In that case say you're just there for the show. If he wanted to talk during the stand up, he's the one being rude, shushing them so they don't interrupt the entertainment you paid to watch is normal. If it was before that while just drinking and hanging out, I'd get up to get another drink or use the bathroom or anything and change seats if possible. This past summer I have been using discord servers quite a bit, to get social interaction while on lockdown. I swear to God I get called a "simp" very frequently for complimenting other women or even interacting with them normally, of course guys assume I am a man on the internet. I am used to women lifting eachother up and they've never had trouble noticing I am a woman too.
