For me a romantic act produces a sense of delightful surprise because it allows the one receiving the act to step away from the ordinary to experience something new. A romantic act has the goal of producing a desired inclination leading to sex and/or a relationship. It is a part of old school courting, and fosters curiosity to continue seeing the person.
