How long did your divorce take?“Separated” Nov ‘21. Said she was going to file in ‘23. She never did, so I filed in Feb ‘25. T.O. Jul ‘25. Tried mediation a month ago, to not much luck. Court in Oct. 2 minor kids, 24 years married. Very slow… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/07/26 09:35 PM
Can I claim owed taxes as a liability when dividing assets?Did you split the dividends or the taxes on the dividends, or both? | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/06/26 12:14 AM
How do I deal with this rageGo for a drive, park, and yell at your steering wheel for a while with loud music blaring. Get it all out so you don’t let it out on others or even her. Do this as often as you need to. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/06/26 05:40 AM
Should I get a new lawyerNot necessarily. Wondering if I’m being too patient or not patient enough. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/11/25 11:35 PM
Should I get a new lawyerI don’t have a plan. That’s why I came here—to ask for opinions. Thanks for your candid response. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/11/25 11:33 PM
Should I get a new lawyerTrying to be patient. I would just like things to keep moving. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/25 04:06 AM
Should I get a new lawyerUnderstood. Thanks. That’s why I asked here, bc I have no reference. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/25 01:07 AM
Should I get a new lawyerNo, but I’m curious why you guessed that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/11/25 09:35 PM
Can't live anymoreCall 988, brother. You are more than your marriage. There are people around you who love you. You can get through this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/04/25 01:39 PM
CounterpointI don’t take responsibility for her actions; I take full responsibility for my own, which surely influenced hers. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/24 07:26 PM
CounterpointI don’t take responsibility for her actions, but my own, which surely had some influence on her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/24 07:25 PM
CounterpointInteresting…you doubted her commitment, and then she cheated on you. I guess you were right to have doubts | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/24 04:01 AM
CounterpointYes. I’m trying to see if I’m the only one who thinks this way or if I’m out in left field. I have owned my mistakes. She has not and never will from what I can tell. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 11:24 PM
She said, "You could just pick up the dog poop without me asking. You see it just like I do."She blew all right | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 07:06 PM
| -1 | CounterpointI don’t think it’s necessarily a “he did it so I’m doing it” thing. Even if a husband never cheated, she may (will) find lots of other reasons to put her trust in or find fulfillment in another guy, especially emotionally, which will probably lead to sexually, eventually. For me, it helps to admit that I had something to do with that—makes me hate her less. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 06:20 PM |
| -6 | CounterpointI disagree with you. It has something to do with the person they’re with. If they had everything they wanted in that person, they wouldn’t cheat. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 06:07 PM |
CounterpointBut most women don’t get married until after college, right? So if they’re trained feminists after college, why do they get married in the first place? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 03:17 PM
CounterpointOk, but why do they file? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 02:54 PM
CounterpointThis sounds so familiar | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 02:18 PM
| -2 | CounterpointWhat am I looking for? Good question. I think taking responsibility for whatever part you had makes the shit easier to deal with, i.e. I screwed up, so she’s screwing someone else. Can I blame her? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/09/24 02:17 PM |

Alimony forever if she claims disability? We’ve been married 22 years; that’s probably considered long term. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/24 12:58 AM
Alimony forever if she claims disability?Thanks | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/07/24 04:17 PM
Alimony forever if she claims disability?Yes, except idk if OK or FL does lifelong alimony. I guess I had better talk to a lawyer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/07/24 04:17 PM
Alimony forever if she claims disability? She is not collecting disability. And she hasn’t filed for it, as far as I know. She has said she can’t work because she has to keep traveling back and forth to see the kids (such an inconvenience), but she could do something online. She does have several health issues, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she did file for disability at some point. I don’t want to initiate the divorce, as I think we can live married-but-not-together, as we have for a couple years now, but if she files for disability be… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/24 06:59 PM
Alimony forever if she claims disability? That sounds very specific to AZ, but thank you for your recommendation | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/24 03:36 PM
