That's how the justice system works here. They give a deal. You plead guilty to a couple charges they drop the rest. This saves time and money. You rufuse the deal and plead innocent they try you on all of the original charges which is more of your time and money and if you don't have a good defense it means more time in prison. Innocent people will plead guilty if it means less time when they are guaranteed to be found guilty regardless of actual guilt.
