Same old "man bad" shit. Its crazy that the "experts" can't see that all this delusional crap just creates division and inflames things.

The field of psychology gives some useful insights into human behaviour at scale. Clinical psychology, on the other hand, is a load of pseudoscientific rubbish, akin to astrology or the reading of tea leaves. At least the latter two are somewhat fun and tongue in cheek whereas psychologists peddle their delusions as informed and authoritative opinions. Unfortunately most of society lack the critical thinking ability to see behind the curtain and understand what twaddle it all is.

The author, and his audience, need urgent CBT (Cranial Boot Therapy) to get their head straight, they probably even qualify for the deeply therapeutic steel cap modality. What a disgrace that this comes out of the University of Tasmania, yet more bullshit funded by the Australia tax payer.

Given you're the one proposing the existence of this mysterious "patriarchy", the burden of evidence is upon you, and you have presented nothing compelling yet. On the contrary I can see that whatever social systems existed prior to the last few decades (is this what you mean by patriarchy?) seemed to result In a more harmonious society than today's bin fire.

This is a huge one. Breakdown of the family correlates pretty well with the breakdown of society.

No. It would be like discussing natural evolution with a creationist. I could point to all the evidence in the world, even attempt to engage your critical thinking ability - but ultimately it would fail because you are so heavily attached to your "patriarchy" concept. It forms part of your identity and to lose it would be terrifying. And that's okay, one side effect of getting older is realising that others beliefs, no matter how irrational, are none of my business so long as they are not hurtin…

It is fascinating how important this issue is to people. The concept of patriarchy has become its own self sustaining belief system, full of inconsistencies of which its adherents are fanatically blind to. Like a religion.

There are different intensities of everything and in western countries the so-called patriarchy is basically non-existent. It makes no sense to obsess over a low intensity issue, you just look silly doing so. Why not focus on issues such as climate change, falling birth rates or other issues more relevant to western countries? If patriarchy is super important to you it may make sense to move to an Islamic theocracy to really immerse yourself in the issue.

I think you should visit Afghanistan or similar to understand what a "patriarchy" looks like. Assuming you live in a western country there is no patriarchy outside of your mind. Where I live my daughters have the same opportunities as my sons, for which I am glad.

There is not much right with them. They are products of an ironically toxic industry rife with infighting - unsurprising given the vast majority are incompetent nutters incapable of making it in any other profession. Unfortunately many do extensive "education" in the area which gives an aura of credibility amongst the vulnerable population comprising their victims. In contrast to most employment types this education seems to paradoxically have an inverse affect on the "practitioner's" utility. F…

Free counseling services for men, delivered by men, perhaps even in a group setting where a guy can bounce life challenges off other guys without threat of judgement or risk of disclosure. Many of us grow up with the ideal of toughness and self sufficiency imprinted on us. Interpersonal relationships are built on strength and dominance, feelings are for the weak and often suppressed as pointless. We often carry pathological family relationships that are obvious to those around us but go complete…

He's correct. We are a 4 kid family running on one income and I never spend money on frivolous crap unless I know everything else is taken care of. It's called common sense. Any other way and sooner or later your kids are gonna go hungry.

😬. Yeah I gotta give this one to the ladies. After watching my wife carry and deliver 4 kids I can say that pregnancy and childbirth are something a woman deserves the highest respect for. That shit is hard core and even in developed countries complications are common. Back in the day there was a high probability the mother wouldn't survive it. I'm damn glad I didn't have to go through that. Hats off to them.

The issue with therapy is that the "practitioners" are overwhelmingly underwhelming. The cognitive bias known as "messenger effect" causes us to judge information by its source, so if you can't respect the therapist then you won't respect what they say. Mental health types seem to be mainly: females, effeminate guys and arrogant fucks whose main talent is being punchable. They all want to discuss feelings, emotions and other shit that bores me. I don't need that. What I need is someone who can e…

Yep, we are also heading down the hole. Wealth inequality and economic/social stratification are increasing while happiness is declining. We have literally moved from the "happy" country to the "unhappy and fucked off but don't know what to do about it" country. Unfortunately, because we have worked so hard to normalise the root causes it is difficult to see how we can get back on the path.

Just another example showing that although the field of psychology delivers some insight at a population level, it is typically meaningless when applied to individuals, resulting in rubbish like this. If you are unable to control your emotions to the point of unpleasantness then you have a problem. If you refuse to acknowledge and address the problem then you are creating problems for those around you. Normalising and justifying this is not a solution. We very reasonably don't tolerate belligere…

It's a distraction from real issues like the economy, same as in other western countries. A divide and conquer strategy to settle the sheep who are getting restless because the usual bread and circuses are not doing the trick currently. These reeducation proposals fail to address the underlying dissatisfactions felt by many guys and instead just paint them as cunts. This kind of inflammatory approach only pisses people off so will exacerbate the issues. It is clear in talking with my teenage son…

The scientific method doesn't care about gender politics. Just as germ theory faded into obscurity and Darwin's work outlived its detractors, the politically driven insistence that male and female brains are identical will be considered bizarre in the future. Scientific correctness > political correctness.

I have dealt with female psychologists - utterly useless as they can't see things from a male perspective. I have dealt with male psychologists - also useless because they are so effeminate or politically correct that they are impossible to communicate with. Also, the industry is plagued with whack jobs. Useful people tend not to enter these fields so you end up with the dregs of academia who couldn't make it anywhere else. It's no wonder the Dunning-Kruger effect is so prevalent across mental h…

Dangerous, GTFO. If she uploads anything identifying without consent then document it very clearly and check out the relevant laws pertaining to "doxxing" in your jurisdiction. In Australia for example it may constitute a criminal offense as it violates privacy laws. Note this is separate to defamation.

You could always respond with your own slur about "toxic femininity". Although it turns out that is also the fault of the evil men: "Toxic femininity refers to the adherence to the gender binary in order to receive conditional value in patriarchal societies." 🤣

I am not in the USA but I think it's clear that of the two candidates Trump is less likely to actively harm men's rights. Biden appears ruled by his wife who is the very definition of someone you want nowhere near your leadership. Years ago I became so fed up with the state of politics in Australia that I voted for a controversial third party, as did a lot of people. Didn't make a difference. You may as well put your vote to use.

'ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN POLICY AND INTERSECTIONALITY" - sounds useful. Parental alienation is no more pseudoscientific than any other concept in psychology, and unlike most actually reflects common sense and experience. I can't count the number of desperate and utterly destroyed non custodial parents and fucked up children I have known that have resulted from child estrangement driven by a lying custodial parent. To be fair I'm sure it is practiced by both mothers and fathers although I have onl…

Australia is in a shit state right now. Economy is fucked, everyone is unhappy and stressed, average people are having trouble affording food, let alone shelter. This is a direct result of destroying the family model that propelled the western world to prosperity throughout the 20th century. Things won't improve until we get shit back on track. Unfortunately those hurting the most, young people, have trouble understanding this en masse due to heavy indoctrination. They are now learning the hard …

Cheating on your partner is wrong no matter your gender. If you have kids with that person then you're also a piece of shit parent. You are choosing to compromise your child's security/happiness for your own needs so don't whinge if the kids don't want anything to do with you afterwards. Also it's just fucking gross/dangerous to secretly share bodily fluids outside your relationship and absolutely disrespectful to your partner if you don't inform them so they have the choice to avoid further sex…

After the columbine shooting many research dollars were spent investigating the connection between video games and violence with no connection shown. As the father of a teenage daughter I agree heartily with the idea that social media/mobile phone usage correlates with anxiety and depression in girls. We have noticed a distinct effect with her whereas it is absent in our sons. I don't think it's particularly healthy for adults either. Many lack understanding of the economic and algorithmic facto…

Marriage is damn hard, especially these days when society at large is interfering at every turn. Things will return to normal, as they do periodically when a civilization shoots itself in the foot before fading away. Nature will return to equilibrium and historians of the future will describe us as a society whose head was so far up its ass that we suffocated on the small of our own shit. Even now we can see birth rates massively declining in developed countries. We can't even sustain our popula…

Men being forced to remain in Ukraine whilst their wives and sisters are allowed to leave tells you all you need to know about how terrible the "patriarchy" is. I'm pretty confident that many guys would be more than happy to swap places instead of dying on the battlefield but they are not given the choice.

Patriarchy was selected as the dominant model across the majority of human societies over many thousands of years. If it were detrimental it would not have been so prevalent. In terms of longevity, the most successful societies evolved a clear separation of sexes, typically dominated by males, e.g. the oldest surviving culture on the planet, the Australian Aborigines. The only thing hurting boys (and girls) these days is the fact that we have lost our way.

I missed a lot of my children's early childhood due to working so much which I regret the fuck out of because realistically I could have done better. I'm in my late 40's and subscribed to that old belief that we shouldn't take time off for sickness/personal reasons. I missed ultrasounds, days at the park, so many things. Left a lot to their mum who did a fantastic job, but at a cost. Then COVID rolled up and everything changed. Taking time off was normalised. I took time off and the universe did…

Our son struggled through primary school until he had a male teacher. After that he begged to go even when sick because he liked and respected the teacher. Parent teacher nights went from female teachers whining about how naughty he was to this guy talking about what a great writer our son was. You reap what you sew. It took millions of men thousands of years to fight, die, invent and negotiate our way here. You take away their reason to keep doing that and it all falls down. Men and women evolved for very different roles. If we continue to ignore that we will be overtaken by those who don't.

I think it is appropriate that patients have a say regarding the gender of their healthcare providers. No matter how hard the bluehairs try to deny the existence of biological sex/gender it is a real thing that should be respected. It's also a cultural issue, some cultures don't permit mixing of unrelated men and women in intimate situations such as are found commonly in healthcare. Obviously this particular patient is a nuisance who should be set on fire but her general sentiment has merit.

Masculinity is society. It provides the safe cosy infrastructure that allows society to flourish. Masculinity is, in fact, the only reason that people can bitch about masculinity. Here's a thought experiment: remove masculinity from your country such that all males are instantly transformed into simpering soyboys. What happens next? In short order the next country over comes to pay a visit, kills and enslaves the men and rapes the women and children. "Gosh, that wouldn't happen these days" you s…

Man vs bear. What a bunch of politically correct woke bullshit. Why do you care about it? The only useful aspect is that it allows instant identification of dumbfucks, i.e. those who even participate in such shit because they have nothing better to think about. You're a guy, act like it. Anecdotally there is a very strong correlation. I thought about this a while ago when dealing with psychologists/psychiatrists, majority of which were female. I recall sitting there thinking how ironic it was that they couldn't see this aspect of their own personality. One of them actually said the line: "people think COVID is infecting the world but the REAL plague is narcissism!". The irony that she was oblivious to her own very pronounced narcissistic world view was amusing. Then again I noti…

This is a good thing. Australians have a low threshold for bullshit, especially when it's trying to control them. The recent failed "Voice" referendum was a prime example of what happens when politicians try to force their fantasies on the public. What a criminal waste of $400000000 that was. Aboriginal Australians deserved much better, the prime minister should be dragged kicking from Parliament house and tarred and feathered for what he has done. This new minister/secretary/whatever of "men's …

If women can be easily influenced by feminism's narratives and adopt masculine variables as opposed to feminine and nurturing roles, it's no wonder why even lesbian couples are also not surviving the modern marriage zeitgeist. Women are not the problem, society is. We moved from celebrating our species' most critical role, i.e. having and raising happy healthy children, to celebrating superficial crap. For thousands of years women could take pride in fulfilling a role that was uniquely theirs. They are literally responsible for the continuation of the species and were celebrated as such across cultures. Then women began criticizing each other for fulfilling this important role. That's the thing, you don't hear men dis…

Talk about shooting themselves in the foot. By creating this behaviour change thing they have left the shadows and gone loud. No more vague "men are bad/dangerous" crap, now it's a very clear and overt "we despise you and want to control your behaviour". They have now created a focal point for sane people to organise against. This could be the rallying cry men need to get this country back on track.
