Should I give up and move on with my life? The entire story seems weirdly over the top. My divorce had its moments of insanity, but Feds? What laws was OP accused of breaking requiring the involvement of the FBI? | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/22 12:38 AM
Last Alimony Paymentabsolutely. i am blessed with a well paying career. ill never take that for granted. Its like paying taxes. i feel i pay ridiculous amounts to the federal government every year - but i recognize that my income affords me that “luxury” to complain. she took half my salary for 7 years. Still hurts. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 06:24 PM
Last Alimony Paymentboth remarried. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 05:01 PM
Last Alimony PaymentI literally hit the lottery with my current wife. Seriously, she is probably the reason i can feel somewhat good about it all. The ex lost her shit when they met. shes drop dead gorgeous, loyal to a T and has gone to battle for me more times than i care to admit. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 05:00 PM
Last Alimony PaymentYou have two choices in this state- life time alimony that ceases upon remarrying or short term alimony that is finite and not dependent on ex’s marital status. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 04:56 PM
Last Alimony Paymentyes- in my state its no fault. i could agree to short term (in this case 7 years) alimony allowing her to remarry without penalty or lifetime alimony that would cause alimony to cease if she remarried. Pick your poison. Id have offed myself if it was for life. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 04:48 PM
Last Alimony Paymentletting go of the animosity will likely never happen. i hate her. loathe her in fact. Cheated on me with a buddy id known for 25 years. Had been cheating for longer than i care to admit. I was an idiot and it royally screwed me up for a long time- until i met my current wife. Yes, life gets better, just not sure how to let go of the pure venom i hold for her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 04:46 PM
Last Alimony Paymentprobably best advice. much respect to you as a Marine veteran. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 04:41 PM
Last Alimony Paymentyes i am happy. life is good. i think its almost been harder for my wife to see most of our retirement float out the window the last 7 years. Ill likely have to put in another 5-10 years on the job to recover. i think she truly thought it would bankrupt me, and id be lying if i didnt admit there were times it was tight. Buts its done, and she timed the last payment to land on my 50th birthday. Party time. Maybe ill send her and her husband ive been supporting an invite. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 04:28 PM
