The great thing about the country I live in is that we have this thing called "Freedom of Religion." If I choose to slaughter a lamb ritually on certain days I can. If I don't want to stone people to death for cheating on their husbands I don't have to. No one has the right to tell me that I do, even thou those both come from the same text. I'm a Methodist and no Methodist minister is going to tell you that you have to circumcise your child. We don't practice much of what is in the old testament…

The doctor should not correct someone who has cancer saying, "Your symptoms don't match the evidence I have, so you must not be experiencing them. Even thou I've never had cancer, I can tell you that from what I've researched what you are saying is false. Since you can't prove what you are experiencing with a large data set, it must be illogical."

I'm not saying that you have to do it to yourself or your family. I am saying that you shouldn't judge people that do. Freedom of religion is one of the principals my country was founded on. It is a noble ideal, and should be protected. Denying people the right to worship god the way they wish is wrong, it leads to violence, and in worst case scenarios genocide.

Did anyone ever teach you the difference between learning and knowing? You can go to school to become a doctor. You can learn all about cancer. You can study it's causes, you can read about its effects, you can hear about it's treatments, and you can analyze the effects on individuals from case studies. I have to disagree with your view of circumcision being "genital mutilation." I was circumcised shortly after birth. I have had none of the negative side effect people are using to argue against it. In fact I see it as being cleaner(no nasty smegma to clean), and I find that women feel it is more attractive. Beyond hygiene and appearance, there is the religious element.
