Hard to know. She was crazy and moved in with him within weeks of knowing him. Maybe she was embarrassed to tell her family and friends that he sucked so much he didn’t have custody of his kids at all. Maybe she thought having partial custody of kids would make him need her more and give her more stability in the relationship? Her goal was to stop working. If she was the one helping him with kids, that would be easier to justify. (She eventually did stop working and got him to pay her bills for …

Yep. I have sole custody for a reason. My ex wasn’t a good father. At one point, he started dating a terrible woman who pushed him to sue me for partial custody. It cost me thousands in legal fees. He still wasn’t granted any custody. She pushed the whole thing, lied to the court about how he was so wonderful with her child, etc. Once they broke up, she apologized to me and cried about how badly he treated her and how her child hated him. She admitted that the child custody battle was motivated …

I go on walks with my boyfriend all the time, but we also go on vacation, go to dinner, etc. I wouldn’t go on a walk with a stranger as a first date. She is intentionally missing the point.

My ex complained to his PARENTS that I didn’t have sex with him enough. He was abusive, and I was the only one working and caring for two kids. But his MOM was offended on his behalf because “nobody gets married to sleep alone.” 🙄 Um...ok? She was delusional because she couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t want to sleep with an abusive lazy man. He would tell random people I had a low libido. Funny how that would never be a complaint from my current boyfriend.

I’m so sorry you are going through that. I had a nightmare custody battle. I eventually was able to get sole custody because I was able to force a psych evaluation. But the bigger challenge is the narc men who are sane enough to pass a psych evaluation yet messed up enough to be incapable of healthy parenting.

yep. I know so many women who have to share custody with men who are so neglectful and sometimes even dangerous. They fight for 50/50 custody even when they don’t want the kids. It’s a way to get out of child support.

Everyone has different preferences. You are entitled to date someone you find attractive. But some of the comments on this thread calling being fit a moral imperative and harshly judging others based on their weight are a bit unreasonable. I also think it sends the wrong message to any FDS members who are overweight. It’s telling them they don’t deserve love or a HVM unless they lose weight. And that’s not true. I’m overweight, but I’m also a really nice person, very successful, and have lots of…

Maybe I got lucky. We’ve been together for several years, and I met someone really great. I did really like that I was only matched with people who had similarly high income and comparable education. When I tried other apps, I was getting too many messages from men who weren’t educated and/or had bad jobs. I’m not interested in financially supporting a man at this stage in my life, so that had zero appeal for me.

I met my boyfriend on eHarmony when I was 40. I’m not sure if it would work for younger people, but it worked really well for me. I matched with men who had similar levels of education and income, and they shared my interests in volunteering, travel, fine dining, etc. In my case, I felt like the personality matching worked really well. I also felt like the expense of the app filtered out lower value men. It was more relationship-focused.

Men can’t pull this shit on you when you earn a good salary. Our value doesn’t decrease, and they need to bring far more to the table than just a salary.

Is Bear Spray legal in the UK? It’s less effective than pepper spray but it’s legal in many places in the US where pepper spray isn’t allowed. In the US, there are certain locations where pepper spray is illegal. However, it is very unlikely a jury would convict you for using pepper spray against an attacker even if it’s illegal. Does the UK have similar jury nullification?

I developed an autoimmune disorder and started losing hair before my divorce. After my divorce, my hair grew back and the inflammation levels in my blood improved dramatically. Bad relationship are toxic for your body.

Dick may not be worth it, but love and companionship is. Don’t settle for the wrong man since being single is far better than being in an unhappy relationship. But a happy, mutually-supportive relationship is worth it.

Alimony reform also means that the women who sacrifice to be SAHMs are at huge risk of poverty in the event of divorce. One of my friends stayed home for 15 years. Her ex left her for a younger woman. She got half the assets, but it wasn’t much. Child support wasn’t a lot, and her kids were teens so she only got it for 4 years. Alimony for a 20 year marriage is between 5-8 years depending on the state. She had zero work history, so he lived a comfortable upper middle class life while she struggl…

Please don’t let this discourage you from filing charges if someone rapes you. It is actually really rare for the cases to go to trial. The DA often convinces the rapist to take a plea deal to avoid a lengthy sentence. Most cases end with a plea deal. The victim never needs to take the stand. Plea deals suck because the rapists can sometimes avoid jail BUT it shows on their record. It makes them more likely to be convicted if they rape again. AND it shows on a background check too. I’ve supporte…

The UBER thing is inexcusable. The man should drive her home or get an UBER if he cannot. When we first started dating, we would go to my boyfriend’s place since my kids were at my house with a babysitter. He always drove me home or got an UBER if we drank too much. Regarding the engagement ring, I’ll confess that I don’t care much about rings. I’ve already been married and have seen how diamonds don’t retain value. BUT the man should get one if it’s important to the woman.

A quality man will take care of himself, have excellent hygiene and make sure you are pleasured as well. If a man doesn’t go down on you, why would you go down on him? I want to applaud when I see women dumping sexually coercive men like this one.

People who make these kinds of posts on Facebook are not in happy relationships. If your relationship is happy, you don’t need to post on Facebook about it.

He is looking for someone younger who he can boss around and dominate. He will attract someone insecure who is looking for financial stability.

I’ve had married men pursue me. Because I’m not a shitty person, I turn them down and tell them what a horrible person they are. No woman can “steal” a man who doesn’t want it to happen, but decent women can unite by telling those men “no.”

The courts are biased towards men. I know many women who had to give 50/50 custody to neglectful men because they couldn’t afford legal fees to fight it. And the men only wanted the custody to reduce child support costs. And I know women who had to fight like hell to get kids away from abusive men. In several cases, they couldn’t. One friend of mine was able to win supervised visits after spending tens of thousands of dollars. This means that her daughter is still forced to see a father who sexu…

I left my ex husband in 2018 for reasons too numerous to list after 20 years together. I’ve been dating a wonderful man for the last two years, but I’m not in any rush to marry again. I earn my own money. I own a mortgage-free house. I enjoy my freedom. I regret not having a prenup for my first marriage. It was the most expensive mistake of my life. I would never consider marriage without a prenup again, and I would never merge finances again. I would be happy dating since I’m not eager to get m…
