I'm conflicted on this. on one hand, it seems the husband was, in fact, an absolute monster whose constant abuse made a teenager kill himself. but on the other, this pardon sets a scary precedent of allowing vigilant justice. it is scary because when an alleged crime is terrible enough (murder, rape, especially involving children) the gut reaction is to forget all about due process and "innocent until proven guilty". and since the guy is now dead he can no longer defend himself. it still wouldn't be right. besides, to have an appropriate comparison you need to reverse the circumstances and not just the genders. it'd be a 180lbs woman chasing after a 130lbs guy to knock him out. at this point it's not self defense, it's just a revenge fantasy.

I believe in self defense but after his first punch he wasn't defending himself anymore. he was chasing after her so he could knock her out. that's not defense, it's retaliation.

in this election a majority of voters will be voting for Not Trump or Not Clinton. What happens is they both have their share of (terrible) fuck ups, but Hillary's fuck ups speak louder to men and Trump's fuck ups speak louder to women.
