My entire argument has been pointing out the limitations of relying on one's own personal experience; a point I thought you would be sympathetic to, given how you initially replied to my first comment. Recognizing those limitations doesn't mean you need to run a double blind experiment or anything. None of my male friends act this way, but some of my female friends do act in the ways I described. But it's irrelevant; anecdotal data is fucking garbage (something you didn't hesitate to try and point out with my original comment). Do you have any sense of how many men didn't behave this way, but you simply didn't notice because your preexisting beliefs didn't prime you to look out for it? Of course you don't. How could you? YOUR argument literally starts "I see men..." Do you actually care about standards of argument or, do you only use them when you can catch someone else making a mistake? Only one guy from my past comes to mind, but we're not friends and he had a host of other problems. on the other hand, I've known more women who have no qualms yelling and getting visably bothered by 'small' things, or being openly passive agressive, or berating their partners in front of others.
