| 1 | Office manager who went on £38,000 designer shopping spree with company card is spared jail after a judge says he 'hates sending women to prison'Thieves should be punished though. That is where I must disagree. Thieves who steal without use of violence or threat should not be punished, they should be brought to justice. Locking them away with murderers and rapists will, IMHO, only drive the guilty party to feel sorry for themselves and resent the justice system rather than bringing them to recognize the error of their ways and to become a better person. not left off the hook until that party says they are happy This is why justice/punish… | /r/PussyPass | 11/01/17 07:36 PM |
| 2 | Office manager who went on £38,000 designer shopping spree with company card is spared jail after a judge says he 'hates sending women to prison'A lot of people in this thread seem to by taking what I said and applying it to "oh well what if someone broke into your house n stole all your shit". I would agree there should be some degree of harsh consequences for someone who does that, but the woman in the article took advantage (something like £38000 worth of advantage) of her position for personal financial gain. It's not really the same thing. Or is it? Despite the downvotes I'm enjoying the conversation :) | /r/PussyPass | 11/01/17 09:40 AM |
| 2 | Office manager who went on £38,000 designer shopping spree with company card is spared jail after a judge says he 'hates sending women to prison'The reason why we give prison as punishment for certain lengths is because that is how much of your life wasted and you either decide. I would completely agree with you if the length of the sentence ALWAYS suited the crime. But we get rapists that get released within months and then people who get given life sentences for possessing marijuana :/ | /r/PussyPass | 11/01/17 08:53 AM |

Not given the same punishment as murderers and rapists. | /r/PussyPass | 11/01/17 07:53 AM |
| -1 | Office manager who went on £38,000 designer shopping spree with company card is spared jail after a judge says he 'hates sending women to prison'Well then... In an ideal world, they would have some form of probation whilst they repay me until I have recovered or replaced all of the property that was stolen from me. The terms should be agreed upon between myself with the help of a lawyer, and a judge/jury (so that I cannot reclaim more than was stolen from me). If the guilty party fails to keep up with the terms of the agreement then they should have the probation extended and/or have an additional fine handed to them. I admit, a man would probably have gone to jail. But nobody should be imprisoned for non violent crimes. I hope she struggles to get by for a while whilst repaying the company. | /r/PussyPass | 10/01/17 07:13 PM |
