Yeah, those are all equally terrible and one sided phrases that absolutely are interpreted to be discriminatory. IMO, If it needs explanation and clarification constantly, it's a bad phrase that shouldn't be used. I don't understand why that's a difficult concept to grasp. Also, just so you know, those phrases are divisive and exclusive by design. The ones that originally popularized them absolutely had an alternate agenda. Which is another reason not to use them. I know you mean well, as do mos…

Is that really harassment tho? I mean, I guess so if they're persistent, that's harassment. Yeah. Because if they were yelling at me in public like that, then it would be harassment too. That's embarrassing as you're on the spot in front of people too. I don't see a difference. Ok. Yeah they deserved a good punch it seems. Sorry, just trying to think it through. What constitutes harassment. Because I've found it's very subjective. Flirting for one person is harassment to another. Hell, a greetin…

In what way? What constitutes harassment in this parking meter case? Genuinely curious.

Sure these ate good points. But it's all whataboutism isn't it? I can list all the negatives of just about any lifestyle or job. But if that's how I want to live, then so be it. Every single thing in your post are easily circumvented in a healthy relationship. Its like, you're conjuring all the negativity you can to show how horrible it is for a stay at home mom. It's not inherently bad, just could be. Definitely things to consider when making that choice, Male or female (because this isn't a ge…

Meth us a hell of a thing, kids. Stay away from it. I do feel a little bad for her. Addiction can do, and make people do, some really bad things. She needs help IMO, not just a prison sentence. Of course, I don't know her priors. Maybe she's had her help and chances, I dunno. But I do have pity (gender irrelevant). That being said, also kinda hilarious!

Why should a woman support traditional gender roles? What's in it for her? A life of abuse and servitude? See, that right there tells me you don't care about having a debate. You know damn well that "traditional" gender roles (which many women still choose today) are not automatically abusive, nor bound by servitude. Everyone decides what their path will be, what they want. The fact is, a lot of women really do want that traditional life, and live it happily. The difference is that they are not …

Exactly! The problem is that so many people seem to just absolutely refuse to see or acknowledge that fact - and that's the underlying problem. Its harassment either way it goes. And it's not better or worse either way based on the gender. Some people are OK with it, some aren't. That's it. Now what to do about it is another story. I think attempting to remove this behavior is futile, as its programmed into us biologically. For me, the simplest thing to do is try to draw a line between flirting …

Taxes are not seizing wealth, last time I checked. That's actually a major argument against taxes. It's basically the government threatening you with force in order to take your money. The more you have, the more they take. Elected leaders decide, so its presented as "the people" who decided how much to skim off the top and call it taxes. But many people do feel like it's just an institutionalized and sanctioned form of extortion, no better than the mob. I don't think that way; I think taxes are…

Seems to me you guys are talk past each other. The point I think they're making is that enoyment doesn't always solve those problems as easily as you imply. There is definitely personal responsibility, definitely. Working and living within means, etc. But many people do work full time, even with a college degree, and still can barely stay afloat or dig out of a small or large financial hole. Being employed full time and still struggling every day for a long time can really take its toll on someo…

No I get it. It's just a reminder that this scenario was TV, not reality. Staff would not have intervened at all unless they thought it was escalating to possible physical harm. Throwing food isn't physical harm (maybe assault, jut that's not the argument). Being pushed in the pool is an escalation that may easily lead to more harm.

This isn't society. It's TV drama that's not just allowed, but encouraged (for ratings). Wouldn't be surprised if it was mostly scripted. Many of these shows are, but maybe not all.

She wasn't groomed as a child to go to IS or similar. Otherwise her family wouldn't have begged her to come home. I get what your trying to say, but you wouldn't make the same argument about a school shooter or someone planning to be a shooter in the US, would you? "They were pushed over the edge every day by their peers, they're just a teenager, they have human rights..." I don't think so. Anyone who chooses to take a side that openly advertises that their sole goal is to kill everyone that liv…

No. u/Coolwiilp1241 would NOT say the same if the genders were reversed, I guaran-fucking-ty it. She was justified in her feelings, but not in the punishment she laid out on you. Unacceptable. But I get where you're coming from. You felt like a dick about how you made her feel. I probably wouldn't have pressed charges either. Lesson learned I guess. But just know, her behavior is still not justified or legal or right in any way.

I love this!! "If you're a women and you don't get cold like me, it's because you have a body like a man and your opinion doesn't count." How this shit even gets "printed" is beyond me. Even citing a University study so she can play like she's a journalist. ROFL! Total garbage.

Unacceptable behavior. And nothing you can do at all. Everyone around thinks your a creeper without questioning it just because she reacted that way. If you react in any sort of way you're the asshole. Its lose lose lose in that situation.

Well, TBH, I do understand that. You seem well thought out, so as always do what's best for you. That's really the point. Just don't lose sight of that, and don't loyalty blind you. I've been there myself. Physical fights aren't ways a bad thing when it's understood and handled properly as it seems you do. I wish you well!!

You know, removing gender from the sign in general is probably the best way to go here. All this gender war crap is getting quite tiresome.

Until its advantageous for her to do so, or is encouraged by her friends to do so for whatever reason. I've had friends in the same situation, some still ride it out and seem ok. For others it took a darker turn. For some reason, none ever seem to want to abandon it though, not sure why. You never really "know" a person fully, and "good" people are capable of far more malevolence that you think. Especially when they are wound up in emotions. That's how crimes of passion happen. Be very careful a…

Well even the most unsuccessful of practices yields positive results eventually if you keep at it just by probability. Even the Indian guys on FB get lucky now and then, and I'd bet more than you would think. I just couldn't be that shameless or invasive.

Well, women didn't grow tits to attract men per se, no. But breast "quality" in women is one factor that men have always used when choosing a mate. So, the women with the better breasts breed more often, and those traits become more and more dominant through natural selection. Ditto with chimps. So yeah, women have the breasts they have because it's one of the main traits that attract human males. So they were not really wrong, just expressed it oddly. Though chimps are actually pretty promiscuo…

And people are always telling me how false accusations aren't an issue at all... yet they keep popping up in the news. And as someone else mentioned, they are still showing the accused faces. Just the implication can be very damaging. But let's not show the false accuser. That would be too stressful for her, what if no one believes her again? Stupid.

Yep, and solo you can wait for the front seat or go thru the singles line! But at a restaurant, your kinda stuck there, sitting by yourself, and everyone else wondering sitting by yourself. At the park, you just walk off and no ome thinks anything of it.

Um... I do... But I live in Orlando, and have annual or free passes, so it's a little different. But yeah, I'll go to the park alone. I WON'T go see a movie or eat at a restaurant alone though - I don't know how people do that. Edit: Yeah I love that you guys are able to go out to eat or a movie by yourself. I just feel too self conscious to TBH.

Um... also not to be that guy, but it is technically correct. Men worked 0.7 hours less/fewer on average over the same period in the study as opposed to previous studies. From 45.5 to 44.8 hours a week. Although I agree that its deliberately misleading and intended to at first make the reader think men are working less than women, which would be wrong. Not to mention that the # of hours worked by each gender doesn't even begin to scratch the surface in regards to the actual reasons for the incre…

Yeah I'm not that sure she understands it. She replies simply with "fuck you" because she has no other argument, and that's a good and simple way to stop the conversation while not having to validate her point. It also basically stops her opponent in their tracks, and helps invalidate anything else that have to say, especially since the person hes speaking with is just an asshole that wants to hurt her (you know, because he's male). Whether the burn registers or not for her, it will for others.

The excessive sentences are definitely a result of the war on drugs. Get a fucking brain.

Yeah I agree completely. 45 years is just insanely unjustified IMO. People who commit a fucking MURDER of a toddler have lesser sentences. War on drugs needs to go away.

We want equality on everything. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too. Either it's illegal or it's not. It's not illegal for men and legal for women. We had different rules for women and men, and feminists complained and protested until we changed that (and rightfully so). Now you want to go backwards? I don't think the standard should be different. You may not think it's a big deal to be touched inappropriately, but many people are far more uncomfortable with it. Also, given what you d…

Very well said. Porn can be a sensitive issue. Respect and communication is key. If you can't agree or come to an understanding, then you're not nit a good fit. People have a tenancy to latch on to someone that finds them interesting, and will abandon themselves for the relationship. That's the worst thing anyone can do for their well being. I wish more people, especially teens, would be taught this.

Yeah and the lack of self awareness is very amusing. They claim he's being manipulative with his response. He's not. He didn't give the manipulative ultimatum, she did. He just responded with honesty and conviction to her attempt at manipulation. None of them seem to notice, or care. I mean, I get that's the point. But it's still a little over the top. He dodged a bullet with that one. Assuming it's real (I don't honestly care either way).

Yeah, its I testing that he committed suicide 3 days after pictures of her and the other guy came out, and hours after she posted a picture if her wearing a shirt that said "fuck you" t-shirt with the caption "you know who you are" The fact that he had JUST finished paying that boy off for her as well is news to me, I'll have to look it up if I can. But yeah, I do blame her specifically for his death (even though we all know he suffered from depression)

No! Maybe too soon? Nah, never too soon for something like that. But no, not too late. Extremely relevant. But Asia's boy wasn't "special needs and was 17, so the age of consent in some jurisdictions (although not sure, Asia was in her 30's when that happened so maybe not).

I get what you're saying. But it's hard to see the correlation there: On June 5th, three days before Bourdain’s suicide, paparazzi photos of Argento and the young French reporter Clément, 28, were published in the Italian gossip magazine Chi. The photos showed the two holding hands, kissing, hugging, and dancing in a bar in Rome. Up until then it seems Anthony was still smitten with her. Argento fought to have the photographs pulled. Bourdain was mysteriously no longer following his girlfriend o…

What hes saying is that even though the police acted as they are trained, and withing policy, and even as you would expect, doesn't mean this kind of force is necessary in this situation. Instead of reacting that way, the police could practice de-escalation techniques as an alternative. Not saying the girl wasn't being totally stupid as well, but her behavior didn't really warrant that kind of response objectively speaking. Police act this way out of concern for their safety. So understandable. …

That's the thing though. Many of these equality types don't believe in competence or merit. It should just be equal. That's my major problem with it.
