I don’t doubt that it’s human nature for women to seek strong men and weed out the ones who are too weak to support them. I do doubt, however, that it’s “human nature” for a woman to make a man feel comfortable enough to be emotionally vulnerable, just to kick him to the curb. That is manipulative and immoral, imo. And if that was your first thought when reading the original question, that is alarming.

Thank you for being the only person on this sub to slightly see where I’m coming from. I made this post mostly with my husband in mind, but I didn’t specify that because I think it could be relevant to many different people in varying relationships. I don’t see “vulnerability” as weakness, I see it as the opposite. I want to learn some ideas and new perspectives on how women are able to encourage their man to feel comfortable enough to express emotions. Unfortunately, I find a lot of these respo…

This is a great idea

Come on, really? If it’s actually common for women in this group to use “vulnerability” as a way to weed out “weak” men, then clearly this isn’t the sub for me. The purpose is to help my man feel comfortable enough with me, and himself, to process emotions in a healthy, balanced way. I’m looking for a discussion, some new ideas. In my opinion, many men have not been taught how to do this BECAUSE of the fear that they’ll be seen as “weak.” I find that toxic. EDIT: I’m reading your response again …

My bad, I honestly completely forgot I asked these questions. I found a very similar question on Twitter. But since it’s Twitter, obviously the replies were all trash. Where I’m coming from is, it is all too common for men to have been raised to avoid processing or expressing their emotions in a healthy way. Obviously, in regards to my own relationship, I know what makes my guy tick. And I love all of him. I’m just looking for some new discussions/ideas on how I can step up my own game in making…

Wow thank you for this!

Do you know where I can look deeper into these relationship rules (vetting, STFU), and when/how to apply them? Great advice by the way!

Actually that is a really great point. But what about when the advice is to pray to God? Maybe I could replace that with meditation? Or just speak things into existence? Lol

Awesome! Thanks

Yeah, that’s what’s been going on. I suppose it is a great thing to have to use critical thinking when reading these forums, as opposed to wholly agreeing with everything. Thank you!

I agree with all of this. But it has nothing to do with what I’m saying. I know people will scream misogyny and patriarchy at anything that doesn’t fit their narrative. I’m not saying we should cater to those people. Im saying that this post kind of goes against the whole idea of “getting out of the matrix of shaming others.” This post is more about shaming one person based off of 3 posts than it is inviting a discussion about parenting. People within any movement generally want to see their mov…

I had a very similar experience from only being homeschooled for 2 years in elementary! I thought life was good until I went back to public school. I was definitely an outcast and I was very slow with picking up social cues. I adapted quickly but for this reason, I don’t recommend homeschool. I even had neighbors that I played with outside at the time. But there’s something about an in-school experience that just teaches you what people/kids are like in different settings and circumstances. Way …

This does nothing to add to the discussion. There are other subreddits with echo chambers for you. Shout in the wind elsewhere.

The entire post was picking apart 1 single person, making drastic assumptions about her. It was not a post about how mentorship is important, or how to be a better parent. And posts like this are exactly why there’s such a stigma around TRP. People really believe that RPW hate other women, and do not encourage liberation or progress. OP’s post and other comments reinforce that narrative.

It also totally discourages other women from this entire point of view. This is why RPW is seen as “women who hate other women”, or women who wish they were in the 1950’s.

To be honest, while I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said, I’m wondering why you’re so motivated to dive so deeply into her personal affairs. While you could draw some conclusions, I think making statements such as “her dad didn’t give her enough attention” is a reach to say the least. The truth is, while you may disagree with her actions/attitude, you truly don’t know her. Not all people think alike. People have different mindsets. It’s okay to disagree, and even learn from others’ mistake…

Now that, I can get behind. But imo, my boyfriend is the one that needs to STFU sometimes, lol! That seems like just a basic relationship skill - asking yourself if what you have to say has any value, or if it’s just to bitch. The way this article phrased it was as if RPW believe in silencing women in general

RIGHT??? That’s where I was like, wait... that’s not what I ever saw RPW as. Also when the author said RPW had posted something like “how to STFU sometimes”

Agreed. I’m glad RPW generally agree that this article is propagandized BS

Thank you so much for this. This is exactly what I was looking for. And I agree - I do appreciate the binary sexes and the differences between men and women. It gives me pride in my femininity (and I think that same pride SHOULD be the case with men & their masculinity, but modern feminism gives it the label “toxic masculinity.” But that’s a different conversation). This article made it seem like RPW are ashamed of their womanhood. Total opposite for me. And I’m very glad to see diverse perspect…
