Your friend may just be an extremely rare breed who is teaching you how the dog eat dog world works (which doesn’t mean he isn’t using you to look better, but you’ll prob still appreciate him later). I agree a lot has to do with how you feel about it. I saw a Todd V video recently about how to date after 30. It helped boost my confidence when approaching girls in their early 20’s
