You’re right. It wasn’t like this before COVID, or at least not as bad as it’s become, and I think men are hoping things go back to what they were before. In my experience, I was able to still meet women in clubs and bars before COVID. Since then almost everyone has moved online.

Yeah I haven’t attended any meetup events, but my friend who does says the activities like “walk in the park” are mostly full of very old people, so I’ve never been interested in those.

I assume you’re American? Were you in the mall? If so that is private property and they can ask you to leave. If you were near the mall but on a public street or sidewalk then they can’t.

Yeah but it’s below-average in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Denmark, Norway, France and Australia. I don’t think OP said where he was from, however. IIRC the average height for non-Hispanic white men in the US is 5’10”.

Maybe, maybe not. For me I got so used to being single that I stopped going out and trying to meet women. At the time I didn’t care, but fast forward 10 years and I regret not putting in a bit more effort when I was younger. But we’re all different, and some men might actually enjoy becoming accustomed to the single life. In this context, when I say “single life” I mean voluntary celibacy — shifting your focus to work, school, travel, hobbies or whatever else from dating, sex and relationships.

Not by itself, since there are loads of tall guys who can’t get laid. In fact, I was in a similar situation as yourself for many years: 6’3”, in decent shape and good-looking, but I had zero game and always lost out to men shorter and less physically attractive because they could banter and flirt much better than me. The one thing in your favor as a man is, if you take care of yourself physically and emotionally, you can possibly date or marry a younger woman in the future. Your dating lifespan is longer than that of a woman of the same age. At least that’s the experience of some other men I’ve known.

I agree. Women don’t want to “settle” (that is, they don’t want to date or marry men whom they see as beneath them socioeconomically), so they’re occupying their time with friends, traveling, cats and alcohol. At the same time, lots of men don’t want to seriously date women who are too aggressive, too masculine, overweight and who are condescending of their careers and/or education. These guys are occupying their time with video games, friends and alcohol.

I agree. The women who grow up and realize their standards are unrealistic end up in relationships. Those women who don’t want to “settle” end up either single with cats or get pumped and dumped by chads.

That’s certainly part of it. However, I don’t find age to be as big of a deal in IRL as it is in OLD. However, in my experience, the older a woman gets the higher her standards climb (ironically) and the more cynical and masculine she gets.

I’m never going to pay for the premium/gold/platinum versions of dating apps. I’ve had friends do that, and all they got were more unattractive women and land whales matching with them compared to using the free versions.

This is good advice. I’m a good-looking guy I’ve been told, so I do much better in person than in OLD. I just seem to get into slumps from time to time. With that said, I do need to hit the gym harder.

Yeah, but I think it’s a combination of several things. One is I need to get more serious about my diet and the gym. Another is the bars I go to still haven’t fully recovered from pandemic. And of course I’m only marginally successful online because I’m good-looking but not an 8+.
