4	Why does Matt Damon promote giving access for women to clean and safe water but not men? I work in international development. The real reason is because the chore of getting clean water almost always falls on women. Usually this means a woman must spend a few hours every day collecting firewood, then collecting water, then building a fire to boil the water until it's clean. Men don't do this it's not their usual role within the community. Matt Damon's organization is trying to give water to women because their job is to get the water.
