The problem is that it is hard to show you what issues women are facing, because it is more subtle than just women are actively being denied jobs on the basis of sex. The most I can do is point to evidence of these gender norms, mainly the discrepancy in different industries. And then point out the differences in upbringing. A linguistics class I took years ago in high school told us about the nature vs nurture argument, and how while a lot of our lives are dictated by nature (anatomy/physiology…

The AI isn't just looking to hire people, its looking to hire the best of the best. This means its not discriminating against women, its discriminating against anyone whose resume didn't reflect the "best of the best." But the AI decided the criteria of what the best of the best was, not the developers. And the criteria it landed on was bad and biased. but there are also tons of men whose resumes didn't make it because they didnt use those words either. You're right. There were some men filtered…

Okay. Do or don't, I'll never know, but I did try and put some thought in if you have a minute. Or just own me, telling me too long didn't read lol. I wish you the best.

Fine, to go back to the article one last time hopefully, it specifically said they could not remove the specific instance of it discriminating based on the use of the word women, because it would still find ways of discriminating based on gender. Case in point: there was empirical evidence that the models DID discriminate heavily in favor of specific words that were almost solely used on men's resumes. The article didn't come up with nonsense, "masculine language" perfectly describes "language" …

What, their mandatory service requirement for women? The different requirements for different units? That second part is also true for the US! Hence why far fewer women see combat than male counterparts.

Man you must be smoking some weeeeird shit. First the Trump thing then the complete inability to understand that it can sometimes take different amounts of effort to achieve the same results. Or put another way, different results achieved with the same effort. Again, male and female soldiers are putting in exactly the same work, but the physical limits for each biological sex are different. Do you really think every out of shape woman instantly matches or outranks every male they are recruited a…

lol. Keep assuming what I believe, strawman arguments are the only ones you can win. I mean I guess I believe women are usually better at lactating? Does that count? Go back to the 1800's when the world was talking about fast-twitch muscles in black athletes, you'd fit in better there. And shit dude I've been doing this for free, you're telling me I could've been getting feet pics???? Or are YOU supposed to send them?? I mean I'll take what I can get, so send away!

He didn't really make any points, so it's hard to disagree with him. That's why chuds like you like him, so you can insert your own biased assumptions to fill in the gaps, while TECHNICALLY he didn't say anything overtly sexist (even though that is the clear subtext). I mean the guy interrupted her 4 times to parrot the same useless "but they have easier requirements REEEE," so no wonder she couldn't get a word in. And feel free to tell me what points he actually made other than they have lower …

"Is being invented"? There have been women in the military since WWII, and separate requirements for decades. And why is it considered a privilege to die for the country? You would cry "female privilege" if women weren't allowed to fight and only men could. So why is it female privilege when women are mostly serving in less demanding capacities as it is?

They didn't make it gender neutral, that's not how AI works. It makes its own criteria. Can you read? I literally quoted the article when I pointed out how the AI, full stop, no bullshit, no paraphrasing, PENALIZED RESUMES WITH THE WORD "WOMEN". That was not made up nonsense, it's fucking Reuters not fox news. You asked for proof, I provided it, you rejected it as hippy nonsense or whatever. The reality is merit is not the reason for gender discrepancy. But I think your head would explode if I t…

He had no point, other than crying about how women don't have to lift as much weight as men (he really loves to whine for someone who tries so hard to be conventionally masculine lol). He's not wrong that the requirements were different, but the guy didn't even think far enough ahead to connect that to a point lol. So no, what he said wasn't "wrong" as much as it was misleading, and ultimately useless information. Here, let me debunk the point he COULD have made if he had an IQ above room temp (…

Very comfortably, knowing I'm not stupid enough to look up to or fall for Steven Crowder's embarrassing bullshit.

I thought you would have understood sarcasm, but I'll clear things up. Two things. One, I was just being polite (sorry). I don't consider people I meet online my friends until I get to know them, and the more I get to know you the less I want to be your friend. Two, I never assumed you were American, just that you were familiar with the character of Captain America. He was ALSO frozen in ice since WWII so you might relate. Onto the meat and potatoes. To my knowledge, there ARE different standard…

I appreciate your response, and I understand what you are saying. There is some validity to that, but along the lines of what you said, women aren't serving in the same capacity as men. Women aren't allowed in the all same combat situations as men, and to my knowledge the more intense regiments DO have much higher requirements for women to ensure the safety of everyone. So to me this seems like a non issue. But there is a bit of truth to what you're saying, don't get me wrong.

It's not "obviously bs" read any article about it, including the one in the post. THE AI LITERALLY PENALIZED RESUMES THAT SAID THE WORD "WOMEN." That is not paraphrasing, that is a FACT. To reiterate, u/Herr__Nilpferd is not making a claim, he is explaining the article you guys don't have the brains to read. And since you can't google for some reason, I hope you can figure out how to click a link. Best of luck brother. I hope you have the pleasure of meeting a women in real life one day. https:/…

Wrong again my friend. The burden of proof is on YOU and Crowder, since YOU are claiming this has an adverse effect on operational performance. If you don't believe me, reread your comment. I'm not proposing anything, the status quo is on my side, there already are different requirements. Do you think women aren't already in the military or something?? Because if that's the case, Captain America, you have over 70 years of history to catch up on and you might not like it all. I trust the people i…

Care to elaborate? Sure, maybe female soldiers won't be the ones carrying the m249s (or maybe they still will idk), but I see absolutely no reason they can't do everything else. To me it sounds like you just don't want them infiltrating your boys club, but feel free to correct me.

It's not an exception. It's a separate requirement. The female requirement is just as difficult for women as the male requirement is for men. It's not like any old women can pass that requirement while men have to train, they both have to train equally to meet their equally difficult, but separate, requirements. Your argument would actually hold more weight (not by much mind you) if you said female military privilege is being a 10% smaller target for enemy snipers than the average male soldier l…

I'm not the one gatekeeping the military. Since you are, when's the last time YOU served?

Lol imagine sharing a Steven Crowder video unironically. And she has a point. Yes they lowered some physical strength related requirements, but wars aren't won over how big your biceps are. Women can still be just as effective in combat. Just because they can't do as many pullups as male counterparts doesn't mean they should be denied the right to serve. It IS equality to allow women to participate just as much as men. Why is it "female privilege" to be able to join the military? If they didn't …
