I would say that red boned would be medium darkness. The term for light skinned is yellow boned. Source: wife is aforementioned yellow bone.

Can’t believe Psychology Today would let an article like that fly.

It looks like r/deaftoexcuses found the study that was quoted by Dr. Gottman. The numbers are correct. Good work Deaf!

That’s not bad advice, de-escalating and removing yourself from the situation, although I don’t agree with the rest of their reasoning. That being said, it’s difficult to remove yourself when they block the door with their body, take your car keys, or threaten to destroy your property if you do try to remove yourself. I imagine this Duluth Model is a good system for the categorical abusers, which are mostly male, and probably pretty entitled in their thinking. These aren’t the majority of abuser…

Women hit first in 70% of disputes that are non-categorical violence. Tempers rise and there is a dispute, and women strike first seven out of ten time. This type of domestic violence makes up 80% of all domestic violence. I went to a marriage counseling training put on by the Gottman Institute and Dr. Gottman said, “women are very violent.” I thought he would be booed out of the place, but it was nothing but crickets.

These descriptions could apply to any abuser. I wonder if they apply this model to female abusers.

The bottom line is that he picked the wrong woman. The wrong woman to marry, and clearly the wrong woman to save. I’m sure there’s been plenty of moments in his paralysis bed where he wished he could beat her to death with a bat.

The statistics for predicting divorce post-traumatic brain injury are upwards from 90%. People with mild to moderate TBIs can be difficult to deal with. That being said, anyone abandoning their vow to their spouse is somewhat scummy.
