Do thinks you like to do and meet new people that way because the dating apps are a waste of money & time.

That’s not going to change anything. Go through the court process & get her that way.

As a responsible father you need to get full custody of your children.Be happy you have your mother around to help you. You can do it.

Get a paternity test for the other two and make sure their yours. If they are you gotta do right by them and be a great father. It’s not their fault that their mom is. p.O.S.

Time. You don’t have to hate her, you don’t have to avoid her just do things that YOU enjoy and give it time. I didn’t think I would ever get over it but I’ve met about 5 different men, she has them around my kids and I actually feel kinda sorry for her. It doesn’t bother me anymore. Give it some time.
/r/Divorce_Men17/12/24 12:25 PM

Get away from her and love on your child. Be a great father. That’ll help you keep things in focus. You have some one who depends on you so you may have to be a bit selfish for that reason.

Me. Loved my ex wife more than I ever loved any woman. She was putting me down, didn’t appreciate what I contributed to the family. I was depressed and she was the reason why. Things are better for me in so many ways but the whole thing is sad and I’ll always feel like I gave up and failed as a husband.

Give them back. Put your feelings aside. It’ll heap you heal by being the bigger person.

You take her back and she’ll never respect you. I know it’s a hard decision but you didn’t break up the family, she did. Divorce her cheating untrustworthy worrisome ass. She texting groups of people and this MF part of it? Sounds like she got a whole life without you. You take care of her crying ass son while she goes out to suck cock? I don’t think so. Get away from her.

Bro I know it may hurt her feelings but it also may light a fire under her to get in the gym, have you tried talking to her and telling her the attraction that you once had is fading due to her weight. It’s not easy to lose weight and this in my opinion is not a good enough reason to break up a family but I get where you’re coming from. Obviously you’re not a cheater. The more serious issue to me is you can’t do stuff alone. Alone time is good to recharge and just enjoy life. Do you think she do…

My ex wife and kids were at a trampoline park..I texted her and said I got someone I want y’all to meet. They talked a lil bit & she got to meet the kids. It worked out fine. She actually invited us over to open gifts for the kids on Christmas morning.
/r/Divorce_Men30/11/24 11:28 PM

Exactly. Something where you are not stuck stationary in eachother faces. Park is a great idea.
/r/Divorce_Men30/11/24 11:24 PM

I would say introduce her to everyone at once. But it depends on the temperature between you and your ex wife. If y’all are cool and both have moved on as far as feelings it shouldn’t be a big deal. Don’t over think it.

Time. It takes time. Soon as I got divorced things started going great for me. I felt a little guilty then as things got better I felt more & more numb. I stayed close to my kids and I did things I enjoy doing alone. After about two years of seeing her date multiple men with failed relationships I just started to look at her differently and accepted that I’m not the man for her.
/r/Divorce_Men19/11/24 02:45 PM
8

It takes some time. What helped me was seeing her with several other men. My imagination took over and I can’t even look at her the same. I kinda laugh thinking about all these different men. I feel sorry for her cause she looking for a man like me but better when should’ve put that energy in to helping make ME better. You will get over it in time and for your own reasons.

You on a slippery slope putting them people in your business as far as your kids. She didn’t say no, she said not right now. This situation is new & requires time for all of you to get used to it. Be delicate. Go out and do stuff with you children & maybe stop by your place & let them get comfortable. I went thru a very similar situation because I live in a bad area (she didn’t want them coming over here). Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. Be cool & give her grace & be consistent. Some…

IDK man. I feel like I ignored a lot of red flags early on, I tried to change things about myself but I she told me flat out several times that she didn’t need to go to counseling cause I had the problems and needed to go alone. I can’t make sense of any of it, I just accepted it & adapted to it.

No two situations are the same. I miss my wife & I miss being a family. Financially I “ won” is what they say but I never wanted to be in this situation. Things are “better” but I don’t have my family the way it was anymore. I have peace, I still have a great relationship with my two little ones, I have a great job. Online dating is a joke unless you fit one of 3 or 4 cookie cutter personalities. I feel that online you have to kinda sell yourself a bit. It’s a significant time investment. I would say wait and maybe do something’s you enjoy by yourself. I.E. movies, travel, bowling or even dinner. It’s a lot easier to strike up a random conversation & just enjoy that for what it is rather than be put in a box which is what I felt like when I was on dating apps. My two cents…
/r/Divorce_Men13/08/24 06:48 PM

Just listen & make sure your kids are good. There’s nothing you can do for her. She made her choices.
/r/Divorce_Men12/08/24 07:17 PM

It’s normal to miss her bro. That was your wife. Give it some time but if you take a cheater back they gonna cheat again. You can still miss her but you gotta accept that she’s toxic & you have to let her go.
/r/Divorce_Men12/08/24 04:36 AM
3

First of all it’s normal to miss her. It’s human. I see my ex wife daily & miss her also but I just tell myself that life has to go on. It’s over. I think about the ways she wronged me & my goal is to be better for my current person who is great.

Ok. Listen cause you being weak. If you need mental help then do what you gotta do. You really sound like a fucking woman. Reach down ,grab yo balls & stand the fuck up and be great to your children. Stop listening to your wife and look in the mirror and make the changes you need to make to be a great father. You sound pathetic. What makes you think the next man will give a damm about YOUR children??
/r/Divorce_Men11/08/24 01:44 PM

My experience was trash. It’s not for me. I went to see 50 cent & bought a 700.00 vip ticket. Started talking to a woman who was also there alone. We been together for almost a year now. She 6’1, from Italy used to play pro volleyball ball, she’s Brienne from Game Of Thrones basically. My life is a movie. You’ll hit your stride. Don’t force just appreciate the gift of life & be true to yourself.

What do you think you should do? It’s sounds like you’re doing it for the kids which is great. I get my ex Wife bday, Mother’s Day & Christmas gifts. Nothing too expensive, kids pick it out (9& 10) ,I just sign the card. She does likewise pretty much.. it’s not that serious to me.
/r/Divorce_Men10/08/24 12:56 AM

I disagree with this bro. If she a cheater , she a cheater. It’s either in you or it ain’t.

Appreciate what you have. Be thankful. I have a fantastic new girlfriend but I still miss/love my wife & what we had & that’s ok but life doesn’t stop. Give yourself grace and try some new things. Treat yourself and be in the moment when good things happen to you. Keep telling yourself that things could always be worse.

Definitely try counseling first. That’ll let her know that the situation is serious & some changes need to be made. I went very traumatic events during my marriage and I dealt with things by drinking. My ex wif refused therapy so I eventually left her cause I felt alone anyway. Therapy & counseling may have saved us. You need to at least give har chance to say no then you go from there. Sounds like a tough situation & you’re right life is too short to be unhappy.
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/24 06:47 PM
14

Yes. Went thru her phone about a month before divorce was final and was flabbergasted. She had 5 or 6 different men that she had sex with. I asked about it and she said “ it’s my body. I’ll do what I want with it. Made things a lot easier for me.
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/24 08:04 AM

Interesting. My ex wife was obsessed & thought I was trashing her and I was t not even at all. You need to figure out why you care so much about what this woman is telling people. Do you feel like you have a reputation to protect? Is it affecting your business or your finances? I would just assume she is telling people the worst about you & just keep moving forward with life cause life is short. Posting pics is basically caring what people have to say. I think that’s what you really need to work…

The courts won’t keep you away from your kids so, by default she can’t keep you away from your kids. Find the strength in yourself and do what’s best for your boys. My kids are a big reason I got divorced. I figured it would be better for them to have a happy father then have both parents being married and unhappy. I was right.
/r/Divorce_Men13/07/24 06:53 PM
3

Life is too short to be miserable. You gotta change your way of thinking. Stop talking about what you can’t do and think positive. What you don’t wanna do is live a miserable life where you not satisfied with YOURSELF. You are their father. Divorce doesn’t change that. Always be a great father.
/r/Divorce_Men13/07/24 06:50 PM

I usually start with “how long has your kid been playin?” Or “which one is yours”. Your kids are older so you can follow their lead to some degree. Just make sure you don’t get left out.

Have you asked your lawyer these question??
/r/Divorce_Men29/11/22 02:14 AM

And what if she doesn’t?? That’s a reality she may never forgive him.

People can change bad habits. If you can’t talk to her and you aren’t getting the necessary love, respect and support that’ll turn you back to the bottle. Personally my ex wife insulted me often and the bottle made me feel like I was the shit. That was supposed to be her job.
/r/Divorce_Men23/11/22 05:50 PM

I can tell you that drinking too much (being drunk) scares women. They feel like they can’t trust you or depend on you anymore. That’s good you getting help but it may be too late bro. Sounds like you made good changes but the real question is if she can move past your illness.
/r/Divorce_Men23/11/22 04:48 PM

What if it doesn’t change?? You gotta start asking yourself that. What if it doesn’t change??

I come from a single parent household. When she suggested marriage I explained that I had never seen a healthy marriage and just wanted a healthy relationship. I agreed to make her happy & LOVED being married. I was too honest and shared too much. She used it against me and made me feel less than. She would often tell me “ You’re not a man & don’t know how to be a man” I tried to change & told myself that that I would win her over. I started two business with absolutely no support from her. Sorry bro.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/22 07:08 PM

Same. Gave her all of myself and opened up like I’ve never done only to have it thrown in my face time & time again.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/22 07:07 PM

That’s some BS.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/22 07:06 PM

Can you communicate with her without it being an argument? Have you had an opportunity to meet this guy? I would suggest you tell her in a super calm way that your son should dress himself or she should help if he needs help. It’s totally inappropriate for him to dress your son at that age. Does this guy have his own children ? Call your son everyday.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/22 02:11 AM

How so???
/r/Divorce_Men21/11/22 08:26 PM

Come on bro. We here to support one another. Even if what you saying is true bro looking for our help. Let’s help him. All our situations are different. Lift the man up.
/r/Divorce_Men21/11/22 07:33 PM

There is nothing wrong with you. You a human not a robot. Take it day by day. You can’t drink your trouble away but things will get better. That’s good you sharing and being present as far as your feelings.
/r/Divorce_Men21/11/22 07:28 PM

I already noticed this. I understand it’s a thin line between love and hate but the end of a marriage doesn’t mean you no longer love and care for the person for some of us.

/r/Divorce_Men02/11/22 02:13 PM

I wouldn’t say so we’ll because I feel like I let myself down because I always wanted to be a family. I’m really hurt by how she treated me and I’m having trouble moving on but I know I have to find a way. I don’t even care about the money.

Thank you brother. The divorce really took away my silliness. I’m back to being straight faced more often and not smiling and happy like I used to be. I know ill meet someone new but most likely it’ll be a BBW and not someone with a body like my ex wife. I’m just focusing on my kids and doing well at work
/r/Divorce_Men31/10/22 10:41 AM

Same thing with my ex wife. Put all the blame on me and scolded me in front my kids. I finally couldn’t take it anymore.

Take it one day at a time. Kids are resilient and you just being there will make a big difference. Keep your mental. I’m not doing too well. I just put a post on here too. Divorce really took a part of me away.

/r/Divorce_Men24/10/22 08:10 PM

He said he games Teo days a week which no adult woman should have an issue with
/r/Divorce_Men24/10/22 08:06 PM

I used to hide the fact that I game but I’ll tell you what: you’re at home, you’re enjoying yourself and (hopefully) you’re not over spending. Yo wife on some BS. I stop hiding my gaming when I got married and told my wife if she had a problem with it, it would be a deal breaker. You should be able to enjoy your free time in a healthy way without all her BS. Gaming ain’t for kids. Kids can’t buy expensive games or systems. As long as you are working and helping out around the house it shouldn’t …

Just write down what times and what weeks and give it to your lawyer
/r/Divorce_Men18/10/22 01:09 AM

We alternate weekly so they usually take stuff back and forth. They’re 6 & 7.
/r/Divorce_Men18/10/22 12:36 AM

If you can be around her enough to see your child a few times a week try to talk to her. Be cool. Be about your child. Make her understand that you and her relationship isn’t working but the child should not suffer. The fact that you and her can be around each other is huge. Be open and honest with your lawyer as well

Talk about it bro…
/r/Divorce_Men23/09/22 07:01 PM

Yeah we don’t hate each other and we want our kids to be happy and they are the most important thing. My lawyer told me a lot of crazy stories and was surprised that we let each other spend time with the kids when it’s not our week.
/r/Divorce_Men17/09/22 07:24 AM
2

And she is not slowing the access that was supposed to say still allow access my bad
/r/Divorce_Men17/09/22 02:27 AM
2

Right. Not lunches every day but she picks them up from school and feeds them everyday. The custody is actually 58%-42%. So the week they stay with me the get to my place about 7pm and I drop them at school in the am. The weeks she has them I still go over about 5pm to help with homework and stay until about 7 or 8pm.
/r/Divorce_Men17/09/22 02:26 AM
2

No I don’t feel it’s enough monthly. She makes 8k a month. I just could t drag it out any longer for financial reasons. Me and her don’t hate each other it just did t work out. I accepted the deal because she’ll still slow access to Disney plus and Netflix and stuff like that for when they come over and she still buys most the clothes and make their school lunches every day.
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/22 02:44 PM
2

I couldn’t afford to keep paying a lawyer so she bought me out the house. Bi weekly custody and 750 in child support each month and half her personal savings acct. I was stay at home father and homemaker and did t work for over 7 yrs. Never went to a judge to argue for more money on child support

What worked for me was imagining her getting g plowed by all the Green Bay Packers. After a week of those thoughts I was over it. It’s gonna happen just accept it. On a side note are you sure divorce is warranted because she has a substance abuse Illness?? I’m assuming the children were being affected.
/r/Divorce_Men25/07/22 11:15 PM

The gold bars may not be a bad idea. If you were to stop patronizing Hookers and smoking crack you wouldn’t have spent it so fast. wink

TELL YOUR LAWYER THE WHOLE SITUATION AND GET ANYTHING TOU SUPPOSED TO GET. I told my I wanna be treated the same as a woman would in the same situation. She gonna buy me out on equity on the house, I want half the savings and half her 403B and half the savings accts and child support. My situation (as I said is a lil different cause I moved to a family member’s duplex but you shouldn’t move)
/r/Divorce_Men22/07/22 03:47 PM
1

Same situation as me. Get a lawyer now. Use her money. If she cuts you off financially she makes the situation worse for her. We had our house a year and I luckily have a family member with a duplex so I moved out immediately and have my kids every other week. Keep watching the kids while she works. I was doing gig work as well. The state estimated my potential earrings at 15.00 per hour 40 hours a week. It won’t be as bad as you thinking.
/r/Divorce_Men22/07/22 03:42 PM

It’s OP choice bro. You im just here to support and offer any advice. Just for the record I moved out into the hood to get away from my stbew
/r/Divorce_Men18/07/22 09:41 PM

Check with your lawyer. I’m in a similar situation. Wife was main breadwinner and I stayed home to take care of children.( she makes 3x what I was making) after ten years of hearing how lazy I am I filed. I did a quick claim deed and she had to buy me out as far as equity. I’m about to get a condo and have my kids every other week. She got home repairs, grass, snow and the loan that she never put me on cause “I wasn’t working” raising to babies a year apart is a walk in the park if you never had…

Do you guys have lunch together or go for walks?? Does she know your wife?? How long have you worked with her?? Ever gone for a drink or done anything outside of work?? The reason I ask is because she may not know what to say (yeah, she could just listen but they can’t) which could make her uncomfortable. Just take it slow. If she notices you not wearing your ring or something then maybe test the waters for deeper conversation. In my opinion I say don’t involve her if you guys are only friends a…
/r/Divorce_Men24/05/22 07:05 PM

Yes. This was almost exactly my situation. Things will get worse. Do you want children?? Once you have kids she will be controlling over them and you’ll barely be able to raise your own kids. I do t like it bro. It sounds too much like my situation. Known her for 25 years, together ten and married 5. Divorce will be final in a few months.
/r/Divorce_Men23/05/22 02:47 AM
2

This is my situation. Did they make you do a “variable expense worksheet??” I finally got a court date and I’m getting the paperwork finished up to present to her lawyers. That payment seems low. My stbew makes 100k and we’re asking for 1400 per month with 50/50 custody. You got full custody?? What state are you in??

I’m a very private person. If you “heard” that implies gossip type conversation. If you haven’t been speaking you could come off nosy. He may be tight with some other people now and that’s why you don’t speak as much?? That my 2 cents.
/r/Divorce_Men03/05/22 12:01 PM

It takes time but admitting and being in tune with your feelings if good. Train your mind. Imagine she is having sex on these dates because you can process those emotions and move on. It’s a discipline
/r/Divorce_Men01/05/22 10:34 PM
1

Bro I’m in a very similar situation. My stbew is going out with men to places I always wanted to take her. First acknowledge (within yourself) that it hurts you. You said it makes you furious but it actually hurts you. And that’s fine. Second, you got kids with her and you still love her so you gotta keep telling yourself like a mantra that you want her to be happy. It’ll take some time but this is the way.
/r/Divorce_Men01/05/22 10:31 PM
1

Kids should stay in a kids place. Keep them out of it and don’t say anything. It could backfire and make them mad at you. Give it time and be a great father and they’ll see for them selves. They will soon understand the betrayal.
/r/Divorce_Men09/04/22 10:48 AM

Try to have long relationships and keep it in your pants as long as you can. Once you find a woman who you can stand for 3 years )that should give you enough time to be able to predict her) then DISCUSS marriage and a family. Take your time. I can tell you are younger so its no rush at all. Use condoms and don’t over prioritize sex.

What you call luck I call being smart and having a plan.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/21 10:46 PM
3

Depends on the situation. Personally as a stay at home father for 7 yrs I moved out and got a job and started providing for myself and had a room set up for my kids, by the time court came around I got bi weekly custody and alimony for 10 yrs.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/21 03:50 PM
4

Well if you believe her (if she says it often you should) maybe you should try to get in the condo and give separation a trial run. Separation affects the kids tremendously so make sure she understands that’s what it’s gonna come to. Your MIL is ruining your marriage. If you want her gone and your wife doesn’t she’s not leaving you much choice. I had the opposite situation and had to tell my mom she can’t stay with us when she came to town, she had to stay in a hotel.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/21 03:55 AM
2

Bro this doesn’t sound like a divorce situation. You haven’t said enough bad things about your wife. She shops a lot and sides with her mother on arguments. You gotta find a way to make your wife understand that you losing your s hit and her mother gotta go. Learn more about that condo situation cause that’s where you need to be trying to get her. Just take it easy cause It doesn’t sound like this is worth breaking up your family over.
/r/Divorce_Men22/11/21 03:33 AM
3

Do you want children?? Do you want to watch your own creation grow in hopes that when you are old you will know that a piece of you will live once you leave the earth?? If you don’t want kids you may need to let that woman go be happy (you said you love her) and you can get different conquests and drink and watch shows and play games and work.
/r/Divorce_Men19/11/21 12:29 AM
5

No children then?? Why did you get married?? I drink, watch shows and play video games..in moderation. You can’t spend too much time doing that.
/r/Divorce_Men18/11/21 11:57 PM

Well the part I played was staying home to give full time child care, then virtual learning. A stay at home parent, the name says the part you play. Does that answer your question?? If not try being more specific.

This. Wife told me she dont want “a hood azz Nword” (with the hard R) for a husband. She from the suburbs and I never been called that to my face by a white person. I stayed another 2 years. My daddy said I should’ve went to jail that night.
/r/Divorce_Men17/11/21 05:31 AM

You’ll know thee exact moment but trust it’s coming if you feeling like that. My STBXW told me I’m the reason we don’t have a better home (Haven’t worked in 7 years cause I’ve been raising our two children) and “how am I supposed to love someone like you??” That was it for me.
/r/Divorce_Men17/11/21 05:23 AM
