When I went through that time period, it was about two weeks with very little eating. I had zero appetite. Then one Saturday I took my kids to Chuck E Cheese and had a slice of pizza, then ended up devouring the entire thing on my own cause the kids were more interested in playing games. I consider that day my turning point and things got better from there. Lots of hard times in between but I began building my life from that point.

Think about looking at those mountains man, that’s freedom. What you’re locked in now is the furthest thing possible from freedom. You can’t convince someone to love you, doesn’t mean you’re not lovable tho. You’re a Godsend to another woman that’s out there. You need to choose your freedom and start you adventure. It isn’t going to be easy, but what you’re living in now is even harder. Show your kids how a man can take control of his life and be what you want them to grow up to be. If you reall…

Let it be. In all honesty this is the best situation you can be in. She’s a cheater. You don’t want to be with someone like that. Get the divorce over as soon as possible. While she’s infatuated with the new guy, you’ll end up with a much better deal with the splitting of assets. She will be ready to get the divorce over with to save face and continue her relationship. Do not take her back when her relationship implodes, it’s bound to at some point. Never take a cheater back. Focus on yourself a…

Taking care of my kids was easy, I had always been a pretty involved father, but as a single dad I had more control of what we were going to do and when we were going to do it. Did a lot of little weekend trips and also got more involved in their education as they began school. When I didn’t have the kids and was alone, I began making the gym a routine and picking up other hobbies. I can’t stress enough how the gym was one of the best things I could have done for myself. I highly recommend. Dati…

Dude, been here. First off, quit feeling guilty. She’s putting the blame on you and you’re taking it all on yourself. You did what was needed to be done and were fulfilling your duties as a husband and father. Good on you and any good wife would be happy to have that kind of determination and help in their husband. She is gaslighting you. Every relationship has issues, it’s easy to feel responsible for the relationship falling apart when your spouse tells you that it’s all your fault. Could all …

Same with me, I put up with a lot of things I never should have because divorce wasn’t an option. Finally realized how screwed up of a situation I was in and it was irreconcilable

Did you say mean stuff because you were frustrated with her actions over a long period of time?

Never do the pick me dance. Pretty much sure nearly everyone else here has done it and no one recommends it. Focus on yourself and your children if you have any. Get a gym membership today if you don’t have one now. The gym gives you something to focus on while you’re by yourself and also puts you around others. Seeing progress is a great moral booster and teaches you patience. Embrace the suck and focus on your journey. In the future you will be proud of yourself for the way you’re handling thi…

Your friends and family will understand. It was honestly more embarrassing for you to take her back three months ago to them.

Felt the same, but you will always be dad to yours. My kids love being at my house and I get them for basically half the week every week. My relationship with my children got way stronger after the split cause I didn’t have to focus on caretaking to the constant ‘struggles’ the ex had. I could do anything I planned with them.

I can’t rule out the high as a kite thing either. While my ex was cheating she was also abusing anti-anxiety medication as well as drinking. I think that’s what she needed because she knew what she was doing was extremely wrong. I was on full time parent duty when I was home. She was a stay at home mom and for the greater part of a year before we split, nothing was getting done at the house

Dude I feel for you man. Does your wife have any mental health issues? The whole ‘you make me want to kill myself’ is a major red flag. I suggest checking out the subreddit bpdlovedones. See if those other experiences line up with you.

Feel free to message me if you need to talk. I don’t like putting my personal story out just cause I like keeping my anonymity

You sure she isn’t cheating? Not trying to hurt you bro but honestly sounds like she had someone planned out before when she was filing and then it fell through. Now she’s rekindling again with the affair partner. From my experience, when women cheat they fully remove themselves from their responsibilities and are basically in a drugged out state at home. The constantly being on the phone is a major red flag. I’ve seen the same thing. Not trying to hurt you, but it’s a major possibility. I know …

It gets better. Holidays are now my favorite time cause I can go all out for the kids and make it something really special for them. I no longer have to worry about an ex that doesn’t want to go to family gatherings or random drama that spews out of the hectic rush

Get out now. It’s screwed up to say, but hopefully she is so love blind right now she won’t go after everything you have and will exit quickly. File for divorce. This hurts man, and nearly everyone here has gone through it.

Let me state a fact I just realized, it’s the truth and it’s going to sting. You’re 5’9’’ and 90 kg. You’re overweight and on the verge of being obese. What makes you think you deserve a woman that cares about her health and appearance?

The gym is an absolute game changer. I’m writing this in between sets at the gym. Do it for yourself first of all. Within the first month your confidence is going to skyrocket. I’m nearing my two year mark of consistent workouts and I feel like a totally different person. I get a high when I get compliments on my physique, which happens more than I expected. Women are eager to speak to me…and the funniest thing abt it is I really don’t give a damn when I catch them glancing or flirting. The gym …

No one is a perfect husband. She’s gaslighting you using anything she can as justification for her affair. Do not let what she says affect you. Focus on yourself and your child and things will get better in time. Do not reconcile with her. Remember how’s she’s treating you right now, I guarantee she will try to get back once you’re doing better. Don’t fall for it

Get a gym membership. Keeps your mind busy and helps you sleep. Your confidence will skyrocket and your son deserves a healthy dad. You’ll end up making good friends there and many are in your exact same predicament.

You’re doing a great job man. I’m approaching the second year of being a single dad and now it’s an awesome experience. It takes a lot to get used to after having a spouse but it’s great for the kids to have undivided dad attention. I’m a million times closer to my kids than I was when I was married. I can take my kids to do whatever I want them to experience. They just went on their first rollercoaster yesterday which would have been a no go with the ex. I’ve found someone now that meshes with …
