Do only exactly what is required of you by law. Nothing more. Nothing less. If you are court ordered to allow her to claim a dependant then do so, if you aren't then, don't.

Well, I don't know anything about the cultural sides of what you are dealing with. For me, I started dating about a year after my divorce. If you aren't ready for it now then don't push yourself to do it. Take your time man.

Montana, went deep into the hills and camped for 10 days. It was awesome. Not recommended without knowing what you're doing or preparation. You can get deep enough in the hills out there that you are truly on your own if something goes bad. I desperately needed the isolation though.

I feel you brother but, you're right in saying its fresh. Never say never. Right now and for the next few years you need to focus on you. Don't worry about whether or not you can be in a relationship or whether or not you even want to be. Focus on dealing with the shit that is and is going to affect you. Found out my ex wife was having an affair while I was deployed after our divorce. I let it go, told no one but a couple of close family members of mine and my current partner. Lawyer bud. Have somebody who knows what’s going on in your state lay out all the options for everything. You can actually make a choice about the property once you know exactly what is and isn’t required by law in your state. At the very least meet with an attorney to ask him questions.
