Criticism 1: You are assuming that having more money does not change one's willingless to lend money. It is arguable that if you have more money, you have less of a "restricted" mentality and are probably more willing to lend. Criticsm 2: This finding is supported by 1 study. You provided two links, both of which discuss the same study. If one is going to come to a conclusion about something, it is important that this conclusion is supported by many different, repeated studies. For example, the …

Yep. Men are unreliable, especially when drunk or high, they'll just get too horny and aggressive = rape.

I never said, 'men are more charitable'. I never said that you did. That isn't even the point in the slightest way. The point is that it may seem as if men are more willing to lend money, but it may be so because women have less to lend. In the same way (meaning, that it's an example, I'm illustrating a point) - which is that the study about charity giving had shown that men gave more; but once the average pay gap was accounted for, women gave just as much, if not more. Basically, your study doe…

This is absolutely true. But what should also be considered [the debunked quote] If something is true, that does not mean that's true exclusively. The study had shown that men are more likely to want to date than women. This is where you can argue that men just want to date more. But then it compares two groups (low-high social support) where they limit the outside factors that may be the cause behind wanting to date. They do this by comparing the low vs high social support in men, thereby getti…

I dont think that occupations (unless they're doing modelling) affects their looks. And the whole point is that they are comparing older groups. I don't understand the whole "over 35" criticism. The post is about men and women past the age of 40. Furthermore, the same thing had been noted in the other study, therefore supports the same notion.

"...Eighty photographs of individuals’ faces (52 males, 28 females) were obtained from academic web pages at the authors’ own institution. Most of these photos were taken by a university photographer, therefore the images were relatively standardized. Only high-quality front-facing photos were selected..." I don't see what the problem is. Also, here is another study that supports the same idea. If you open it up in PDF, it should come up with even more mentions of further studies that conclude t…

people are attracted to certain attributes more than others Absolutely. But almost all women prefer a man who is tall. It has also been proven that shoulders-to-waist ratio matters to women, they like broad shoulders. Yes certain attributes are more liked in others, for example a beard is a sign of masculinity but not every woman likes a beard, but with the case of the beard it's more equalized than things like height. With regards to height, almost all women prefer a man that's 6'1 over any 5'7…

No, I'm a woman. Jezus, are you guys really telling me that you find it shocking that women prefer tall men over manlets? This is basic shit that 12yo kids know.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/17 03:35 PM

Yes but women also care about height, for one. So it doesn't always have to do with just being unsuccessful at the gym. Why can't anyone on here, wrap their heads around the fact that women prefer a 6'2 man over one that's 5'7? Isn't that basic knowledge?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/17 03:21 PM

Of course, they look for both in a man. But think about why they do. Do they just find rich old men more attractive? Rich old men have nothing to offer except for their financial assistance. Women have evolved to actually want the genes of the best male, but also needs a guy to financially suppprt her and her offspring. This does not man that she lusts after that man the same way she does with the "Alpha" male.

You don't understand it, it's like a fat woman who is 20. Her being 20 is great, and she is more desirable because of it. However, she'd be more desirable if she wasn't fat.

To women, that's what an Alpha is. She doesn't care as much about his "leading" ability as you may think. Women want the good genes from good looking men (look up sexy son hypothesis) but also need financial assistance; so they lust after the former men, but may stay with the latter because of stability, and not because she's attracted to him.

Women have preference for what is real and what they can get (mostly). This isn't true. This is bullcrap. Women just don't really like to mention it to men but, whenever we go to a place where there's collectively a lot of men, we only look at the tall ones. The shorter ones are almost invisible. We prefer the ones that have the broad shoulders over the one that has weak, narrow shoulders. It's basic biology. Yeh, women definitely don't like taller men at all Women lust after and want the genes of men who are typically tall, have a strong jawline, broad shoulders, a bigger upper body compared to lower body size... Not the short man with narrow shoulders that makes £10,000,000 a year. Yes, they may want to be with him for the money, but they are not the kind of men that they lust after. "Alpha" can't be a genetic or inherited trait as it's a subjective claim, and a socially manufactured role. Women lust after and want the genes of men who are typically tall, have a strong jawline, broad shoulders, a bigger upper body compared to lower body size. (He is tall and a bit jacked, which weighs in his favour). That's great. But women would've preferred the version of him where he would've had stronger jaws, broader shoulders, generally more handsome I.e. an Alpha by nature, not one that tried very hard to become one.

Discipline is a very valuable "trait". And it can be built. Genotype or phenotype or the expression of them. I am not discussing what's a valuable trait to society; I'm discussing what an Alpha is, in the eyes of women. Discipline sounds great! But those men that women were cucking their husbands for, were not "disciplined" per se. They were genetically advantaged, and women have a carnal desire to copulate with men like that. The percentage of men who have higher SMV at 30 then at 20 is incomparably larger than similar percentage for women. Women's options are greater at 20 than they are at 30, but men's SMV doesn't always become larger; generally, men and women both don't age nicely. There are no men in their 30's that I'd consider having a relationship with, they've all let themselves go. For the vast majority of men, their SMV doesn't become larger. "Men age better than women" - yes they do. I'm discussing the looks aspect only, not women's place in the market. Women in their 40's would absolutely lose to women in their 20's. Have you not read the post all the way through? I very clearly stated that: What must be considered is that those 43 year old women are arguably not perceived as attractive as 20 year old women. Being alpha is more than just looks. Who makes out what attractive and "Alpha" is, in a man? Women. It's women that have preferred these Alpha traits, and it's them that have shaped men to be the way that they are. Women would (although not randomly, but carefully select them) fuck very good looking Alpha males without having to worry about his financial prospects, without other things that he brought to the table. Those men were valued strongly for their genes only. It has little to do with upb…

There is no point in comparing mens and womens attractiveness, they dont compete with each other in the smp. It is a popular idea in r/TRP that men age better than women as soon as women hit 30. That is the focus of my post. And this is consistent with "post wall woman looks like shit now that she's in her 30's". And clearly they still do better even in their 40's.

Who should pay the price of an externality? If party A "pollutes" (dresses revealingly) should parties who are witness to the stimuli be made to pay (by changing their mind/behavior) or should the party who generated the signal be made to pay (be shamed to dress less revealingly). The case can be made that women are generating the externality because by dressing revealingly they are causing the men to look at them. How far would this apply, though? In Afghanistan, the same principle is used when…

Here is another that was tested on 400 male and female undergraduates if you open up the PDF, it links it with more studies supporting the same. Edit: Sample size of 80 and only measured facial attractiveness. Include WH ratio, BMI, perceived weight, breast size, etc. and that number will drop to 25-35. Women reach an age where they are no longer sought after for casual sex by top-tier men (looks-wise). This definitely happens way before 50. Chad and his friends aren't looking to hook up with a 45-year-old woman even if she looks really, really good for her age. This isn't a great way of measuring it, either. Because "Chad's" tend to typically be 20-somethings men, of course they are not going to be interested in 45 year old women; just like how most 20-somethings women won't lust after 45 year…

I agree with that, but it's more of a slow process, then in their late 40's they tend to hit a "Wall" where there's significant drop in their value. Until then, it decreases slowly. Edit: when I discussed looks also being important to men, I was replying to this: JFK didn't really look handsome or attractive at all in terms of muscularity or facial aesthetics. Neither did Bill Clinton. Because this implies that looks don't matter for men. That is bogus.

Women look for: looks and financial/provider aspects. If the man has both, he is the best choice. If he has one, he is still good, but not as good as the one who has both. This is pretty much a fact, evolutionary theory supports the idea that women look for men with strong jaws, symmetrical faces, broad shoulders etc. But they also want a man that can provide. They want both.

Read it, mostly agreed to it. Women have it harder because of the stress that comes with the biological clock and the need to tie a man down before it's too late. The fact that you started the post by saying something along the lines of "the wall does not mean a sudden change in a woman's life whereby she becomes undesirable" hints out that this is a very popular opinion on r/TheRedPill, and this is precisely what the focus of my post is.

But it does NOT show where that decline starts. The decline starts earlier, but arguably more slowly. "The Wall" hints at a sudden drop in value, arguably not something that happens as soon as women hit 30. The only way the concept of women hitting a wall at 30 would make sense is if women's attractiveness at the age of 20 would be something like 3x as that of men of the same age, and they would then hit a "wall" at 30, and it would then get progressively worse, and by the time they're 43 they'r…

Sick does not always mean suffering from cancer, though. Edit: I think it has a lot to do with caretaking and how women wouldn't mind doing that as much as men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/17 06:10 PM
1

Men leave sick wives more often, women leave unemployed husbands more often Not that it's justified, but it's understandable from an evolutionary perspective why women might leave unemployed husbands more often; they simply won't be as attracted to them anymore. Whereas with men whom leave sick wives, it has little to do with attraction but more to do with reasons that are within their control. I'm not saying that you disagree, but just wanted to add this to your statement.

Women pursue dating less because of their biologically lower sex drive, presumable testosterone-related. This is absolutely true. Aren't the women selecting those men? From an evolutionary perspective, yes and no. Women typically find men with high testosterone attractive because of their genes, but also men who display lower levels of testosterone and show more fatherly instincts. Women look for both. We are talking about who women fuck. Not who they procreate with, not who protects their child more Although I understand where this is coming from, people judge with the same evolutionary mindset as they would've even if they didn't intend on going the "full way". Are you honestly saying that women only care about their children's DNA but nothing more? Mothers would go to greater lengths to protect their children than fathers would. If both were selfish and only cared about passing on their DNA, then surely men would've also gone to the same lengths as women to protect their children. But they do not. So they therefore pick the best physically and financially able man. They do this for the good of their children. This is very different from "I want to stick my cock in everything I can find". The difference is that women do it in good faith, whereas men do not.

I'm going to have a serious go at this: Men have evolved with characteristics that help them get laid and survive. Women have evolved with characteristics that help them to distinguish between good/bad genes (i.e. muscular alpha male vs. Physically weak male) as well as survive. Men's sexual strategies differ in the way that it is very useful for them to spread their seed. Women sexual strategies consist of tending to stick to one partner for a longer time in order to be able to pass on her gene…

It goes like this: Men really want sex and women. Women want sex and men too, but not to the same degree. Here you have a group of people who are willing to go a step further for something, as the people on the opposite end are not as interested. Women (evolutionary speaking) can't have sex with just any guy, for the sake of her future children. She is therefore picky, not because she is doing this to control him (although the control is a something that comes along as a result of the nature of …

It is not completely bollocks: Men on average tend to care more about looks than women, however, women's lower standards tends to be much harsher than men's. Most women would probably rate the majority of men as lower than average in looks, but most men tend to date succesfully. It is also a recognised thing that women tend to see men as more attractive as they get to know them/spend more time with them, this is probably why women would ever consider men who are not deemed physically attractive,…

I know that this post is kinda exaggerated, but I do generally agree that men have the shorter end of the stick, in life. It just seems so tiring looking at it from a male pers…

Yes, this is mainly what I'm referring to. I don't really agree with how the authors of your source consider high risk behaviors as impulsive. Not necessarily, bitterness can, arguably, change an otherwise healthy minded individual into a monster. The book clearly makes the point that men are a lot more likely to commit violent crimes against a person such as assault. It therefore means that, even if all the women were justly considered before the court, stats would still show that men would be the biggest perpetrators of assaults.

Nah. Women are called crazy when your ex-wife calls to get your power cut off, shows up to your work and gets you fired, and busts the windows out on your car. I don't think there's stats on gender and likeliness to cut off power and/or show up at work and get you fired, therefore I'm not going to dis/agree on that. However with damage to property; men are more likely to commit that, so I'd have to disagree with that one.

"Don't stick your dick in crazy" implies that a lot of women are harmful/dangerous to men. Therefore my argument is focused on that. Stats on lesbians aren't relevant in this case. Crazy has different definitions with men and with women: A man's definition of a crazy woman is one who texts too much and/or is clingy. A woman's definition of a crazy man is one who runs after her with an axe with the intent of killing her, all because she looked at another man.

Women tend to be more fake towards each other than men, and often times women are more likely to act friendly when in reality they'd like to kill the individual standing in front of them - all of this must've been considered by researchers, yet women still did better in friendships than men. It just goes to show the deep lack of support in men, in that case.

For example, I can now prove through quoting the article that men want to marry more than women. Which suggests that male friendships are therefore not as deep nor fulfilling as women's (generally) "We compare different people, some men without friends at all, some men with acquaintances but no close friends, some friends vs women with hiw many friends?" Yes, there are man…

You are looking at the repeat experiment with N=152. I am talking about the initial, larger national sample. The summary of which is at the top. You're looking at the bottom. One of the first things you should see is this: "...Using data from the 2005-2006 National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project, a nationally representative sample of 3,005 individuals ages 57-85..." And it goes into detail about their findings, and it includes the quotes I mentioned

"The dating n you derive conclusions from is 155." You are looking at the wrong link. Click on the first one and have a read. "It just says men are lonely not men friendships are x." If I was to say that women are hotter than men, I am not directly saying that men are ugly, but I am making a point that in relation to women that men are not as good looking. Therefore you've just found out a piece of information about men, which is that they're not as good looking. You found out this piece of info…

It very clearly says that the men don't date the women to have sex, but because they are lonely. It says that the women aren't as likely to be lonely, because of the great social support they get from other women. Therefore: what stops the women from being lonely is the great social support they get. It's 1+1=2

"And n is 155" Wrong. "...Data came from the 2005-2006 NSHAP, a nationally representative sample of 3,005 community-dwelling persons..." "Maybe men are also more likely to want to date women to have sex." "... Many women view dating as a social activity that provides a unique form of companionship not achieved through friendships with other women...Older adults often pursue dating relationships to mitigate feelings of loneliness and this is particularly true for men... women enjoy wider circles …

I think that in times of war, friendship between men would probably be a lot more close and personal, given that it's a life and death situation in those settings and they're the only people you'll have at the time.

Male friendships are a little stronger It does not mention this at all. In fact, it doesn't even talk about male friendship, the study is based on men and women's feminine and masculine identity. It does not touch on "Male friendships are a little stronger".

And what does it say? It says: "...She said women in their 50s may be at higher risk of loneliness because of a combination of increased rates of divorce, empty-nest syndrome and being less likely to have worked in the same place for as long as men of the same generation..." The point of this post is not who is more lonely. Look at the title. It's about who's friendship is more fulfilling, and the article doesn't say anything about friendship that I know off. Lastly, The Daily Mail? That's barel…

Also you put too much trust in the NCBI Of course one should not consider only one source, but combine this with the other two and you kinda can draw a conclusion. No?

Obviously you have the opposite experience Not at all, even if that was the case, I wouldn't let it rule over actual facts. Everyone is different, of course. But correlations are real, differences between men and women are real. The differences in their friendships are real.

When people read the title, they automatically get triggered, they don't even consider reading the links that I provided. You don't understand how many times I had to repeat something, just because people made a judgement before they even read it. I repeated the same point about 4x so far lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/17 10:42 AM

Agreed, I reckon people innately know; they just don't like to admit it. A lot like the people who's feelings are getting hurt by reading the post.

You can't conclude that from the data alone. If you insist on scientific stuff then hold yourself to those standards too. Guess who held themselves to scientific standards? NCBI. And guess who came up with that conclusion? NCBI. Absolutely none of you care to even read the content in the links I've posted, you're just here to argue your way into comfort.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/17 10:30 AM
3

Hold on... so you want me to consider your personal experience, against the other studies I've provided links to, above? And you'd like me to consider them invalid just because a redditor came along who felt differently about the experience? You've got to understand that that is no evidence at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/17 10:26 AM

assumptions Do you honestly think that any of those studies would consider it as "assumptions"? I bet you haven't even read the links. They are not assumptions. Son, do you have any idea what the NCBI is and what they do? Research it and get back to me. It's a shame you get emotional as soon as there's a post you don't agree with. So much for "women are irrational" fucking LOL.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/17 10:23 AM

There are also women who murder and rape, the vast majority of those who commit those sort of crimes are still male. It honestly isn't good enough as an argument.

or women aren't as horny as men According to the study, it has nothing to do with horniness, but everything to do with loneliness caused by lack of social support. The study states: "... Older adults often pursue dating relationships to mitigate feelings of loneliness, and this is particularly true for men (Bulcroft & O’Connor, 1986; Carr, 2004; de Jong Gierveld, 2002; Stevens, 2002)..." Now, read this and pay very close attention to this: "...Women enjoy wider circles of social support and THEREFORE tend to be less eager to date (Watson & Stelle, 2011). This is from the first link. The "therefore" is very important in this case, as it means that if women had the same unfulfilling friendships that men have, then the women would've been lonely too, just like the men, and the women would've too, looked for a partner; just like these men. But they are not. You know why? Because of …

Lol the last study What about the first? It is goddamn NCBI that confirms it to you that men do not have the same, rich, social support from other men the way that women do from other women. It quite simply says that men are more likely to be lonely, then follows it up with how it's because women's friendships are fulfilling enough for them to not seek out a partner, whereas men's are not as fulfilling as that. Hence why they seek out a partner. It seems like I have to connect all the dots for y…

If it's specifically from women, you're not quoting it. Clearly someone doesn't bother clicking on a link based on a topic he so vehemently disagrees with. Nevertheless: "... Your entire first quote block basically says that women get constant social approval, attention and help. And men don't get jack shit. Now read that again, but slowly; Whom is it that the women get such support from? Other women. Whom is it that men get a lack of support from? Other men. It almost seems like the gender of the person that you're in a friendship with, matters, when it comes to how lonely you'll feel and how fulfilling your friendship would be. Just almost. From this, you somehow co…

Women have evolved to prefer masculine men over those who are non-masculine. Women have evolved to prefer men who are assertive, but studies show that aggressiveness is a turn off for women. However, men are aggressive nonetheless, even if women didn't like it, the reason being that they most likely had to fight physically in order to claim sexual access to women (in cases where she had no say, women didn't always just get to pick) therefore in cases like this, it doesn't matter what the woman's…

>It's nothing about toxic masculinity Then how do you explain murders like this. You can be all fancy and label it whatever you want, such as "imbalanced behaviour" or "destructive to the self behaviour" but truth is that it absolutely is dangerous behaviour that is typically male-inspired, none of that would've happened if the genders were reversed; the women wouldn't have shed blood over men, this is what men do to other men simply for pussy. If it isn't toxic masculinity than what the hell is…

Women are just lucky that men are more attracted to women than to femininity. So women can change and be whatever they want and still have men interested in them. The same is not true for men. Women aren't attracted to men, they are attracted to masculinity. I never actually thought of this but this is very spot on.

This is a great question, and also a topic I read into, studies showed that both men and women look for similar things in a partner: similar political beliefs and values, good character etc. There are also things that are a turn off for both men and women; acting like a doormat is a turn-off for both men and women, people who are harder to get are more attractive in the eyes of both men and women. It is especially the case for women, the reason being that women do tend to prefer dominant men ove…

The comparison that I'm making, is not between women and their younger selves, but that between men and women. I actually sort of agreed with your point, as I mentioned in the post that: Of course, unattractive women may not be able to attain the sort of men that attractive women will be able to However I must say that the study had shown that unattractive women were able to pull graduates just like attractive women were able to, so I wouldn't know to what extent attractiveness actually matters …
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/17 02:53 AM

My point is that I don't think that it gets harder just because it gets harder to attract men, I reckon it gets harder because their preferences get even more stricter. When women are in their 20s, they can live more carefree and might not care so much about her boyfriend's fatherly skills or his financial prospects. However a woman who's biological clock is ticking, will most certainly pay attention to those things, and therefore restrict her dating pool because of it. She wants to make sure he…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/17 11:40 PM

Agreed. Absolutely on point.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/17 11:35 PM

I think that it gets more tricky for women as they age in the sense that they need to make sure that the man will be a suitable father/partner just before their biological clock runs out, whereas when women are younger they are not too worried about the man's financial prospects because she isn't thinking of having kids yet. So the biological clock makes it more stressful, as opposed to not being able to attract men.

I very much agree with your points.

And my answer refers to that. Doesn't it? It actually even directly adresses that very sentence. You go on about how the wall exists (which isn't relevant to the discussion) and you also go on about how you make sure your bro's know about this (which is irrelevant), you then go on about how women go on a cock carousel and once they're finished, want a man to provide for them whilst they offer starfish sex in return (which also, isn't relevant). How do any of these touch on my point about attract…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/17 10:49 PM

Well remember that this is a CMV, not a "can you state your irrelevant opinion". My question in the title was: Is post-wall as bad as people hope? You literally went off on a tangent about sluts and used up whores, and what you think of them. I don't think you understand that that has nothing to do with the content in my post.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/17 10:17 PM

The vast majority of the people there are in their 20s. If there are any young people that are attracted to older people, it is probably young women being attracted to older men than vice versa. So the results will get skewed, as another person had mentioned on this post.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/17 09:12 PM
2

Sorry, I don't get what you're getting at. My view is that unattractive women's ability to attain men isn't any more difficult than that of attractive women. However with men that is the case. It does become harder for men based on their attractiveness. This is my view, and I posted the link to the piece of research in the text.

I am not disputing that. What I am disputing is the idea in the TRP community: that post-wall women are desperate and can't find a man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
