Bro you literally foresaw the future what the hell. I'm now at the point where I'm tired and done with pursuing women 😮‍💨

I wish I did man. Thing is, im not a naturally touchy person. Im much more verbal. I'm actually pretty awkward with touching and tend to overdo it.

How often does this happen? Should we not be waiting for this as if it was the normal. Should I expect it to happen and stare longingly at my couch or pretend to function and then be totally surprised when it happens? Asking for a friend.

She's trying to make her ex jealous. If you can get in bed with her, do it. I've seen this shit before though. If all of your attempts get shot down MOVE ON. She is stringing you along because you make her feel good and she wants her ex to be jealous. Worst type of shit to involve yourself in.

Instinct is always that people want what they can't have. But tbh, if a women was more upfront it'd be a breath of fresh air. Playing games is so tiring. I hate the dating game. Vent over, I'll probably get right back into it in a week or two when I'm less fucking burnt out.

Playing too many games. Trying to make me jealous when we aren't even dating. Immediate turn off.

Mixed signals means they aren't into you and want to drag you along. Sounds like she's playing games. I'd move on if I were you. I've run into this enough times to know. If a woman is interested in you she will make it easy

That's true, I am not great at navigating in these situations and am basically shooting in the dark. However, i was being brief for the sake of being brief.

That's what I figure. I can see that but I'm still going through some mental hurdles. I'm just glad that now I know so I can move on. My own fault for getting attached so easily 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thank you for the well thought out and written response. You make a lot of good points. I appreciate your conclusion a lot because it is pretty tough to not take the rejection personally. When I "grieve" I always wonder what I could have done better, or what about me is wrong.

Good point. I figure if she was interested I would have known and that wouldn't have happened. She called and said she was only interested in being friends. I was honest and told her I wanted something more and that I'll be friendly but I'm going to create distance.

You make a good point. The victim mentality will only make me worse off in the long run. I'm noticing right now im being more constructive rather than destructive. Plus, some of the comments here have helped me bounce back a bit quicker. Thanks for the advice man

That's what I intend to do. I told her I was going to distance myself once she said she wanted to just be friends.

She knew I was into her and quite literally was trying to say things to test me; my friend even noticed what she was doing. I'm personally pretty torn. I have good interests and confidence in many things, except for maybe women. That's when I tend to run into issues. I do need to work on myself in that aspect. Also, people seem to think I acted as if I'm "owed" her attention which isn't the case. I never said that or even implied it.

I do believe this is true, but for other reasons. I think I can make a women happy, and I feel pretty confident in myself in most respects hmm except for women haha. I've been dealt a bad hand with almost every woman I've liked (i do take some blame) and I now I have jealousy issues. I do think I take rejection personally. I'm usually content with myself except for when I start talking to women. I put too much value in what a woman thinks of me and get attached pretty easily. I know you're proba…

So the 2nd part is what I failed at. I flirted, threw in some touches but always showed I was interested. I don't know how to appear "not completely sold". I've been out of the game for a couple years trying to work on myself.

Rejection isn't a fun feeling. I can't say whether or not you've dealt with it, but just know that it's not. Have you been rejected and moved in with a smile? I expected comments like this to come because sympathizing isn't easy for everyone. I know I will bounce back and grow from this but it doesn't mean I enjoyed it. By the way she acted, I thought she was interested in me. In the end, I'm glad she was honest and told me she wasn't so I can move on, but I'm not going to pretend I feel good ab…

You had me in the first half chief. There's a big difference between "being salty" and being disappointed.

Maybe it does, but i think its called "emotion". I'm not in a good mood and I'm not going to fake it. Though, I do think I am insecure when it comes to women. I've been delt a few bad hands and have a lot of work to do in that aspect. Also, I upvoted that comment and went to bed :)

I try to have this mindset, but it's just not true and I can't make myself believe it.

I asked her if she wanted to hand out the first time we talked and she said she couldn't. We talked later on and she "left the door open" so I tried taking it slower by texting, being a little flirty and goofy. Fast forward, we had a volunteer thing today and I asked her out tomorrow. She said yes, then dropped the bomb today saying she knows I'm into her. I told her, yes, I'm attracted in her and asked if she was interested. She responded no, and that she wanted to be friends, which is a no fro…

We are in a volunteer group. We talked on and off at lunches and events. Typically, I'd invite her to go with me.

That's good to know. I do believe I'll get better if I keep trying it just doesn't feel good man. I told her I'm going to distance myself because, not to be an asshole, being friends isn't an option. Not even being an asshole yknow I just can't be friends with someone I want. It's the worst feeling.

Man, it's fucking weird. I am pretty confident. I run a lot, I enjoy reading, I do volunteering and I'm pretty social. I feel like I've been working on myself. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe chasing booty. I just feel like if I don't seek it out it won't happen

I was pretty straightforward and she said it was obvious - it didn't work and it hasn't so far.
