Good points. I still haven't made up my mind on this issue but thought I'd play devil's advocate here since at the time of my first post I only found one viewpoint being espoused. I tend to agree with yellowcushion's view above

But would you consider it discrimination to no longer be able to access half of the facilities in the men's room because it made someone uncomfortable?

She was though. From the article: "The teacher 'would put all the women on one side and then offer a side for the Muslim man so there wouldn’t be any problems,'" She was no longer allowed to access the other half of the room

It's this kind of thing that is actually a problem: https://www.usenix.org/blog/my-daughters-high-school-programming-teacher The ratio isn't a problem it's the reasons why the ratio persists that are the problems. Not saying this kind of thing is everywhere (I know no one with such first hand experience of the problem so I lack the knowledge to put this in perspective) but it is worth considering.

Finally, in today's war(s) non-combat roles are exposed to combat anyways. Yes, we should have equal standards but this is a step in the right direction.

Also, while the womens poem may be accurate to many a woman's belief in such a man being entitled to her; I have yet to meet a man who wants their significant other to be a deaf-mute. Wanting big tits on a gymnast nymphomaniac, to go fishing, golfing, and drinking are common (shallow) dreams though (the former being the most shallow as having a signifiant other that respects one's hobbies and interests is not a shallow goal at all).
