Weren't the earliest human societies matriarchal, though? This means more place for misandry in societies like that, which in turn means the misogyny and oppression of women in "recent" couple thousands of years is a response to that?

It's not about my attraction. It's about their attraction. Generally, men will hook up with women who make themselves available, but for women, practically any man is available, so they will hook up with the ones they are attracted to at the basest level, without needing to know them for their personality and the value they can provide. Nothing, and I mean nothing except for himself, is stopping a "hookup" guy from upgrading to "husband" status by actually getting other things going that would k…

This is a bit off-topic, but it's really interesting to me. For me, I wouldn't mind waiting for my girlfriend to feel comfortable sleeping with me, even if it takes an extended amount of time - but only if she's a virgin, or at least really inexperienced and didnt sleep with her past partners earlier than with me. But I worry that she might just lie and play off her lack of interest as lack of experience

So you'd prefer to start at zero and need to work your way up to a passing grade, rather than start at a passing grade and earn extra credit if you want to

Don't worry about it. Even if you don't get it, that's an answer still. I'm the kind of person who aims to understand everything perfectly and have clear answers to every question, but maybe sometimes trying to dissect everything just makes things feel contrived

Do you mind explaining how does it work for you then? Do you just look at the guy for the first time and he falls into attractive/unattractive box and that's it? Do you have a guy who is a friend and you lose any attraction to him because he is a friend? Or is it just if a guy isnt your type, or you know you won't match on things that are important for you in relationships, you arent into him even if hes attractive and youre friends? It's just that for me, I don't really feel comfortable with pe…

I guess it does. I agree overall on the "I don't want to sleep with a random woman" thing, too

Categories aside, doesn't it end up going like "I have an acquaintance who happens to be a woman - we interact with each other and our personalities match well so we become friends - since our personalities already match, and we spend time together, I become attracted to her - I tell her that, as a good friend should and then she either reciprocated so we get together, or more likely doesn't so we drift apart because things are awkward now"? I'm not really good on social dynamics, just curious

Meh, it's a weird distinction because a lot of people who are virgins could just find sex itself if they actually sought after sex specifically. I mean I had literally refused casual sex and stayed virgin because I didn't like that woman that much and didn't want her to be my first. The thing is, it's not so much sleeping with someone that I, and probably many other people like that want, it's about everything else before or after that. Then again, I might be the exception here...

Its not entirely that. Everyone is different of course, but for me it has more to do with a distinction between "she does this for me" and "she does this for anyone" - in one case, it's about the partner who she engages with, and the feelings for that partner who is special because of the shared bond they have, and in the other case, about the act itself, where the partner is only special because they are available at the time. As such, enjoyment isn't a turnoff, but things like past history and…

That's actually real in how most people see a typical liberal woman as a feminist , while more "serious" feminists generally seem to see things like sex work and promiscuity as harmful to women while liberals see it as "empowering". So yea, it really depends on how you define a "feminist"

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
