Fuck why are 99.9% of women's tinder profiles exactly the same? Are they all just filling out a form that automatically spits out the exact same phrases to describe themselves in quirky (retarded) ways?

I love it when people think entertainment owes them something. Like you just walk in, sit down, and place an order for the characters you want to see. Oh you want a strong X character? Then write it. No seriously, I wanted to read a story about a man and a woman overcoming challenges but were both sympathetic in their own ways. With the theme of tragedy and an ending of perseverance and togetherness where neither of them were the "bad guy." So I fucking wrote it and I'm really proud of it.

I'd just as soon pour cement down this rabbit hole than jump into it. Art is sacred and yes Disney films have just as much of a right to be called art as anything. Let people tell the stories they want to tell and let the public view them as they wish. Any meddling and we end up with stories that can't be told, characters that can't be this or that, and that's not the world anyone who appreciates art, film, music, games, or literature should want.

I don't remember if I've shared this story or not, but this thread jogged my memory. I worked at a job in retail with a young woman who was physically attractive. On an almost daily basis she would walk up to me and just grab my crotch. To me it wasn't cute, funny, flirty, or anything in between. I told my boss about it (male) and he would say things along the lines that I was lucky or he wished it were him. I told another coworker (male) and he just couldn't fathom why I wasn't into it. The rea…

Even if it is true it's still an unverifiable anecdote. I don't even know what is supposed to be the point of this. If there's a well written story of this why are looking at what amounts to a shitty comic representation of it? It gives the impression that this didn't really happen, as seen in the comments here, and is just some of that awful tumblrina-strawman crap.

To me the phrase, "You don't know what it's like" is similar to "triggers." There is truth to it but 99% of the time it's used to justify an inability to formulate a coherent argument.

Should we? Yes I suppose. Can we? No. I had a class this past semester in which we discussed domestic violence and the teacher said (paraphrasing), "Can men be victims of domestic violence? Absolutely. But a man is physically stronger and can put a stop to that right?" I shook my head indicating no but I don't think she noticed. The bottom line is even if you can physically defend yourself it is one of the worst things you can do if you're a guy. If someone is hitting you, run the fuck away. Doe…

I think about this every time I hear fellow MRA's complain about name calling, shitlords, neckbeards, fedoras, virgins, etc. ....and then turn around and use terms like 'white knights' and feminazis. C'mon guys, we're supposed to be winning arguments with solid evidence and effective dialogue. Make up your minds.

Every time I hear about the protests to this song I remember the song, "Take it Off" by The Donnas. I wish someone would engage feminists in a debate and present these lyrics under the guise that they were written by men and see their reaction when you tell them it's by an all-female band.

I think it's awesome when women tread new ground. That being said, women in punk is nothing new. This band is getting notoriety for going, "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME! WOMYN COMING THROUGH MAKE WAY SILLY DISGUSTING BOYS!" Just shut the fuck up and make good music. Women can do anything they want, but first they have to do By the way, wanna see a woman absolutely kill it? Check this shit out

I'd just like to take this opportunity to point that there is a hardcore band out there that has been telling the story of a family living in post-WWII America and has spanned 3 albums and 1 EP. Each album takes the perspective of a different family member and is heavily influenced by Faulkner. Their singer/songwriter is one of the smartest and nicest musician I've ever met and it's honestly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen a band do. First check out this song, it's about the eldest…

This thread is just full of laughs. The irony is that we often point out feminism being petty and overreacting to the smallest of things. Now here we are doing the exact same thing. I'm sorry if I don't lose my shit over my girlfriend having her order taken 3 seconds before me (even though the kitchen will be getting both our orders at the exact same time.) Waiter at an upscale restaurant, can confirm you take ladies orders first. We're also supposed to give them their meals first. There's also the clearing rule. If someone has finished eating early it's only okay to clear a plate if it's a woman's. Because, "women get self-conscious if they're the only one still eating." I was told this by a female manager.

I've posted about this before, but in my first semester I heard anti-male bias in every single class. In Calc I learned that women had magical powers of intuition that made them better at math. In Education I learned that women's brains were wired better than men etc. Surprisingly, so far this semester has been pretty balanced. My Psych teacher mentioned domestic violence and made sure to mention that women abuse men. In another class the teacher talked about suicide and mentioned that men commi…

I can see how pop songs can warp the minds of young people. 99% of male-created pop songs since the dawn of time: "She/Women are awesome"; "Sorry I fucked up, please take me back" 99% of female-created pop songs since the dawn of time: "I'm awesome/Women are awesome"; "He fucked up, I'm not taking you back." Think about the last time you heard a song praising men in general. The only one I can think of was "Whatta Man" by Salt n Pepa. To be fair, the above doesn't take into account hip-hop but t…

Here's an interesting experiment when you're anywhere in public. Wait until an attractive female enters the room. Now immediately look around and see how other people react. Experience has taught me that most men will glance at her for a moment and then return to whatever they were doing. Women on the other hand, will stare, watch her entire entrance, look her up and down. It's really quite fascinating to see. I'm just lucky I haven't been arrested for 1st degree noticing of a women.

MR just kind of articulated something I'd felt for a long time. I remember as a kid watching an episode of 'Cops.' There was a domestic dispute where the woman was going absolutely ape shit while the officer had a calm discussion with the man. At the end of the conversation the officer tells the man, "You should probably leave for the night." The husband said, "Why would I leave it's my house?" The cop says, "Just go find a hotel for the night, let her cool down." The guy points that she's clear…

I recently went back to college where I'm studying to teach. Just some observations: In my Intro to Education course I've been told repeatedly that female brains are wired in a superior way to male brains. In Trigonometry I've been told repeatedly that women have powers of intuition that make them better at math than men. In Biology I've been taught that women haven't been as successful as men because historically they were held back. My 4th class is online, so I haven't received any instruction…

Agree. It's absurd. Her reasoning that the locker room is where you capture the true emotion is a flimsy excuse for invasion of privacy. There's also a lot of emotion and drama to be observed in the ICU's and trauma centers at hospitals, but that doesn't give anyone the right to set up cameras and news crews to capture it.

I'm a pretty big guy, not huge or anything (6'0 250). What that means is that in every job I have ever had people just expect me to do the heavy lifting. At my current job there's a girl and we always share a look and a laugh when this happens. "Hey big guy! Help me move this!" I heard a discussion on BBC Radio about this the other day. I believe the host was arguing against two people and utterly destroying both their arguments simultaneously. It was astounding. One woman brought up the (totally irrelevant) fact that most women deal with harassment and unwanted groping from men and that this culture of scantily clad women on billboards and magazines was part of that "culture." The host asked if she had ever been to India or parts of the middle east under Muslim rule. …

Ugh this happens on my street all the time. It's a narrow two lane street with cars parked on one side of the road. It's barely wide enough for two-way traffic so when people park there it's a clusterfuck. The most frustrating part is when people coming from the same direction as the parked cars just take up the whole street when they don't have the right of way. I agree. I'm not a big fan of getting worked up over gender portrayals in artistic media. No matter how crude or brainless it's still art and it doesn't bother me what other people want to create. It only bothers me when I hear women complain about how their gender is portrayed. But I just can't understand why there is a need for the press to be in the locker room while athletes are showering/changing. Can anyone tell me why? Well then you're talking about upselling. Something a lot of restaurants see as hugely important for any server/bartender to do well at. It really is an art form that can't be taught by spoonfeeding a server the line, "Can I start you off with some of our kickin nachos or asshole shredding boneless wingshits?" (Think Applebees) It's also something I have done very well at. Which the restaurants that have given me the cold shoulder would know if they ever bothered to interview me.

The nicest restaurant in the town I live in has given me the old, "We'll keep your application on file" run around several times. They also hired a waitress I had worked with previously who was a constant problem with lateness/tardiness. I understand what you're trying to say, but I have never heard of a restaurant getting any portion of the tips. There are tip-outs where the server pays a small % of their tips to bartenders or bussers. But never the house. So whether a female server brings in more tips is completely irrelevant to management/owners.

Because in an ultra-competitive game that is utterly dominated by men I respect the idea of a women's only event. This has been an ongoing issue for a few years now. Every year there is a ladies event and every year a handful of men enter. I think you're forgetting about the fact that it doesn't even have to be a woman you've been sexually active with. Because it is considered normal for a rape victim to destroy all of the evidence and wait weeks (or even months) to report a rape, any woman you have ever met can, at the very least, get charges of rape brought against you for investigation. Throughout those 4 years she has done nothing but constantly remind me how proud she is of me, how she recognizes and appreciates me every day I get up and go to work. Last week she graduated with a 3.85 GPA. I am insanely proud of her. In the c…

I like how nearly all of her posts have 0 comments. Your story has 6 comments and she removed them all. And she refers to herself as a writer. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! A writer. Am I missing something or does she really think that rambling on a blog that no one reads or comments on makes her a writer? She fucking called herself a writer. That's hilarious. EDIT: Oh and I also liked how she called you creepy but she used vulgar language several times and talks about your dick.

So therefore you should treat her with the same compassion you would want for a man. Otherwise that would be like saying, "Male circumcision is barbaric! Women should be circumsized!"

Came here to say this. It's really sad how often this subreddit, and for that matter many causes both worthy and unworthy, will spin a story into a nice little anecdote for their cause. Old lady dying in prison that wants to see her grandkids? Fuck her she killed a man, let her die alone. Mens rights are important, and there are plenty of things to get upset about. But I don't get this. What is to be gained here? Let's say you're right and this woman is lying about being abused. What does she wi…

This reminds me of a friend of mine who was a lifeguard at the local Y. He was close to a few of the young boys who swam there. One day I saw him and he looked utterly devastated. He told me he met the parents of one of the kids that liked to swim there. He said the kid's dad introduced himself and said something about his son couldn't stop talking about his favorite lifeguard and friend. But when my friend started talking the father could tell that he was gay his demeanor totally changed. I gue…

Sorry when I read "lifetime ban" I imagine Morgan Freeman in speaking to the parole board about how 50 years ago he made the mistake of telling a woman to "get back to the kitchen" on XBL.

So far this is my favorite response. I haven't brought up this thread yet. I'm waiting for it to run its course with comments before showing it to and discussing it with her. We did however just have a nice conversation about the good and bad elements of MR and feminism.

This is deeply concerning to me. If the victim were her son, this subreddit would be calling for her blood. Oh it's her daughter? None of our concern.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Put any member of the football team next to one of the fat kids and tell me what you're more concerned with. You're at school to learn. You want to play sports? Fine. You want more calories before practice? Take the responsibility and get them yourself. I'm much more concerned with the overall health of a student body then the worse-case scenario described in the article. An "energy crash."

Waiter here. I work with 1 other guy and 20 women. I cannot count all the double standards and general BS we have to put up with. In my restaurant you make a lot more money in the morning than at night. I am damn good at my job but it took me 2 years to get moved to mornings. I have seen dozens of women moved there within a week of their hiring. Hell we had one manager (guy) who loved women so he would just hire them and start them on mornings (shocking twist: he was forced to resign for sexual …

I wholeheartedly agree with the top comment by Canadian4Paul. This reminds of a continuing issue at the World Series of Poker. Every year they have a ladies only event and by law they have to let everyone enter. So every year there's usually a dozen or so guys who enter the event purely because they can and because it's a softer field (men far outnumber women in poker so the average male player is far better than the average female player.) The women's argument is that the women's event has a mu…
