You say you've never been in the situation to date. Again, every minute you are alive, you are in the situation to date. But you CHOOSE not to approach women and flirt with them. You need to approach a girl, even though she might not find you attractive. The mental illness I refer to doesn't have anything to do with your attractiveness. Again, I encourage you to at least give therapy a chance.

I feel like you're not even reading my responses, just giving stock answers. "I've never been in that opportunity before." Every minute you are alive, you have the opportunity. You CHOOSE to take no action. I'll be frank. From what you've sent me in this conversation, I get the impression that you may be dealing with a serious mental illness that you are unaware of. I highly recommend that you reach out to a psychiatrist and allow them to treat you. Good luck, stranger. Your own self-acceptance …

The girl does not have to be attracted to you for you to flirt with her. Have you ever gone up to a woman and said her eyes are pretty? You don't need permission to do that. You don't have to "qualify" for anything. You don't have to meet standards. You just walk up and make a flirtatious comment. You do not know what the problem is. It is naive to believe that a psychiatrist with decades of studying the same problem (human attraction) could not offer you anything. Why not go and ask? They under…

Ok, fine, I'll keep going lol... First of all, what do you think attractive means? Are you talking about facial attractiveness or just the general idea of "attractiveness" (like you just attract women toward you somehow)? Women are "attracted" to my friend because of his personality, but he is not facially attractive to anyone. He is, unfortunately, grotesquely deformed. I don't know what country you're from, but in Western countries, you don't need to wait for a sign of attraction. You can just…

Ok, last comment. Listen, I think you're probably not as unattractive as you think. I don't know your situation, but one of those guys I was talking about is actually facially deformed. He is a cyclist, and he got in a collision with a car just before college and lost one of his eyes and scarred his entire face. He is also a super nice guy with a passion for cycling, and he dated plenty of women in college. I think he's in a long-term relationship right now. If you are also dealing with some kin…

Those ugly guys do not have girlfriends because they are physically attractive. They have girlfriends because they are smart, funny, fit, well-dressed, happy, etc. They radiate positive energy, and they get girls because of it. You are capable of meeting at least one woman's standards because some women have zero standards. Lots of middle-aged and overweight women out there looking to meet up...

Sigh... You do you, man. I don't think that seeking the approval of others is a healthy end goal. You are putting your psychological worth in the hands of people you have never met. Also, I guarantee that you're already capable of meeting "at least one woman's standards." There are many lonely and desperate women out there. Go look at the Craigslist Personals for your area (or any equivalent personal ad website) if you don't believe me. I think you might be dealing with some cognitive bias here.…

You've been told that before, but have you been told that every single time? Or were you told that once, and now you assume all rejections are for the same reason? Blaming physical attractiveness is the easy way out. It may be a legitimate issue, but I'm suggesting that your troubles might also depend on other more important factors that you are downplaying. I know ugly guys who have hot girlfriends because of their personality. I also know hot guys who don't get past the second date because the…

Are all of these women explicitly telling you that you are not attractive enough? Or are they declining for an undisclosed reason, and you are assuming that it has to do with physical attractiveness? My point is that if you are passionate about something and you are a good storyteller, people will want to spend time with you and hear what you have to say, women included. There's nothing sexier than being interesting.

I'm telling you that you shouldn't try to meet an arbitrary woman's standards. You should instead meet your own standards. If your personal standards for yourself are high, you'll get women without trying. Essentially, your mindset is antithetical to achieving your goal. You are setting yourself up to be dependent on what people think of you. Go the other direction by becoming who you want to be. Then find a girl that likes who you are.

You're not respecting and valuing yourself if you're so concerned with what women think of your appearance. If you project confidence, everything else is secondary. The key is to stop caring about it so much.

There is no single personality that girls like. Just work on self-confidence, be interested in something, and be the kind of person that you would want to hang out with.

"You can do eye contact and posture and vocal tones all day but your body will non-verbally always give away your real status." This is the most important thing I think I've learned in my journey toward greater confidence. If you have to think about it, you're faking it. I think a lot of social problems people experience today can be solved by spending some time reading and absorbing philosophy. It all sort of clicked for me after reading and trying to practice Stoicism and Buddhism for a few ye…

Genuinely curious, not trying to be an asshole. How is it that you condemn hypergamy and claim that people who have sex a lot are missing something or hurting spiritually, and yet you also go out of your way to artificially make your dick bigger?

Some girls are definitely like that, but not all of them. The point is that you don't have to settle for a gold digger. Date girls that are interested, and if it becomes apparent that they are just interested in your money, kick them to the curb and keep looking. Also, there's no rush to get married, especially not to someone who doesn't really love you. You could date around and have fun until you're 40 if you want to. There will still be 28 year old women looking to marry a 40 year old doctor.

It's a solvable problem. You're an engineer, right? Think about it like a problem that can be solved in steps. Is it literally impossible for you to get laid / get a girlfriend? No. Is it a hard problem to solve? Yes. But a solution exists if you're willing to start methodically and rigorously solving the problem.

I've been single for a while now, and while I do have hookups occasionally, dating and sex has just sort of been on the backburner for me. Honestly, it's been great not worrying about it. I just have other goals that I'm spending all my time on, and I'm happy doing that for now. I would recommend finding some hobbies and just getting engrossed in them. Also, work on self-improvement so you can feel like you can get a girl if you wanted to, but you're choosing not to. It's stressful to feel hopel…

Unless you're asexual, you've probably looked at someone a little longer than normal because you felt sexual desire for them. Feeling sexual desire is the part that's built-in. Expressing sexual desire in an effective way is not necessarily built-in.

This is an interesting philosophy, and I think some people do follow it, to some extent. For example, I personally believe that people who are intelligent may be at a disadvantage when it comes to confidence, at least initially. If you are intelligent, you naturally consider a lot of factors that influence your chances of success, and you might not put yourself out there if you determine your chances are low. However, if you are unintelligent AND optimistic, you can be blindly confident, attempt…

The offending words in your comment are "hope" and "find". Self-confidence isn't a $20 bill on the ground that you come across on accident. Self-confidence is a flower that only grows if you water and care for it. Basically, you insinuated that self-confidence is just something that happens, which is the exact opposite of what this post is saying. It's very hard to develop it, but there are concrete steps to doing it. It's not random. I would recommend forgetting about self-confidence in relatio…

19 years old is super young, dude. You are really not that atypical. Certainly not pathetic at this point. You've already acknowledged the problem and are working on it, so you're on the right track. In order to get girls, you have to become comfortable with yourself. I sense a lot of self-hatred in this post, and that's what you have to overcome. Spend some time developing skills so that you'll be undeniably good at something or knowledgeable in some way. Go lift weights and get stronger than t…

His advice is good, but he does give it pretty aggressively. It probably just needs context. It sounds like OP was whining to him constantly about not having the right pickup lines, and this guy just had enough of it.

I think the fear comes more from social humiliation. Primitive humans couldn't afford to be shunned from their group because they would be left behind to fend for themselves. Fear of being rejected by a girl can make you feel unsafe, like you might be rejected by your tribe or something.

It doesn't matter what the interest is. To be interesting or exciting, you don't have to be a racecar driver or a rockstar or a skydiver. The point is to have something that you genuinely have interest in. When you are that into something, people will feel your passion for it by just being around you. Ever watch YouTube channels where the host is clearly very knowledgeable about some hobby, and you don't really care about that hobby, but the host's passion for it is enthralling, so you watch any…

Probably a little too intense of an experience for picking up girl. A girl will look at you, and you'll probably stare in awe and ask her to marry you. Just wanted to chime in and say that if you do this, you can only do it every 2-3 months. MDMA is very neurotoxic, and you have to space out the rolls. You should stay around 100 mg, especially if it's your first time. Closer to 200 mg, and it will be obvious to everyone that you are rolling balls.

I would only compliment a girl on something if I truly meant it. And I'm not easily impressed so it doesn't come up too often. But I think girls can tell when you're being sincere and will appreciate it in the right circumstances.

Also, you're not going to get as big as those actors in 2 months naturally. Especially if you know nothing about fitness because it will take you awhile to nail down your routine and diet. Definitely work out, but just realize that it takes a long time to get truly jacked.

IMO, it's pretty easy to tell if someone is intelligent. They speak carefully and precisely and make observations that less intelligent people do not. Not all intelligent people speak slowly and confidently, and not all intelligent people come across as cool. But the ones I know are always perceptive and utilize a more diverse vocabulary.

I actually never noticed people treating me different since I became muscular. I've been lifting for three years, and I think people pretty much treat me the same. I will say that I'm still lower in the attractiveness food chain than my 6'4"+ friends (I'm 6'0"). I don't think being muscular helps all that much honestly, as long as you're at a reasonable weight. Lifting is great for other reasons though, would still highly recommend.

Sure, having a select amount of hobbies that you are passionate about is great. And your passion will likely attract women. I'm arguing that you shouldn't choose your hobbies for the purpose of attracting women. You should choose hobbies that you have actual interest in and let your passion do the work. I wasn't seriously suggesting that OP is a sociopath. I'm not a psychologist. It was just a reference to other comments here that are saying he's definitely a sociopath. While he might be, it doe…

Sure, I'll just go through it point-by-point. Credentials: Right off the bat this is weird. It's like you think life is a video game and you're giving your stats. This point advocates dropping all hobbies that do not actively contribute to you getting laid. I don't know about you, but I think there is a lot of stuff in life that is worthwhile that is not geared toward seduction. This is ludicrous. I'm not a working adult yet. I'm in college, so I can't answer your question. But I get the feeling that you are saying that people who actually focus on school and work hard are losers and failures and fratstars who major in communications are the ones making big bucks. This whole post is fraught with over-generalization, but I would just like to raise two related points. Work ethic and sociability are not mutually exclusive. That may be true. While sober, I actually just am not interested in talking to most people. I find it unfulfilling. Maybe that's internalized social anxiety, maybe not. I don't believe I know enough about human psychology to be certain. I'm also busy all the time and worrying about assignments and due dates, but drugs make me forget about all that for a few hours. Not sure how that relates to seduction though.

Physical changes will absolutely improve confidence. I consider myself to be very confident and my fitness and fashion style have certainly helped me get there. But I'm also just a naturally introverted person and while I've become more charismatic, I will probably never be as carefree as those who have never had to work on social skills. I just prefer books, music, and science to drinking and parties, and there's not too much I can do about that. However, I will say that drugs can make me a soc…

Do you have plans to go to college? If so, it may be better to just focus on yourself for now. If you don't know how to dress, learn. If you feel scrawny, work out. If you feel socially awkward, talk to people in a non-sexual context. If you improve your skills now, you'll be prepared to pickup in college (or in clubs, if you're not pursuing higher education).

A lot of people aren't going to give a serious answer because this is an elementary question that you probably should have had answered in sex ed at some point. Regardless, you should never wear a condom while getting a blowjob. Either get a blowjob without one or refuse a blowjob if you're that concerned about STDs from random skanks at clubs. You should probably try to pick up someone that you know somewhat well though. 17 is a bit too young to be trying pickup at clubs. Try a girl at your sch…

The issue is not that I feel intimidated by women not taking action, it's that I lose interest in them entirely when all they do is follow my lead. I suppose this all applies more to dating women rather than just having sex with them though.

While I agree that this is true, it's still annoying as fuck. I find confidence to be a very attractive feature, so when I have to make every single decision about everything, not only is it time-consuming and exhausting, it makes me less attracted to the girl over time. I can accept that I have to make the big moves (first date, first kiss, first fuck), but god damn is it annoying when she can't even start a conversation with me. The dislike of clubs is probably a difference in personality. I don't like clubs because I don't like to dance, I don't like pop music, I don't like looking stupid, and I don't like the concept of buying drinks for girls. Some of these are most certainly personal faults, and I'm trying to work on it, but I can't entirely change who I am. That, or they really just aren't interested in you anymore. Often times, I will go on a date or two with a girl, feel like it went well, and then she will never contact me again. I'll send texts, sometimes even straight up ask her to tell me she is uninterested if that is the case, so I can move on, but she will never reply. It may just be that I'm not as open as others here, but I would never say “I think it’s sexy you’re so dedicated to your career.” Something about that just sounds so... discordant. I wouldn't consider a women's job of, say, conducting research in molecular biology to be sexy at all. Interesting, sure, but not sexy. Otherwise, great article. I'm usually skeptical toward these kinds of advice pieces, but this one was a breath of fresh air.
