I look at the evidence and facts and am just not seeing what you're seeing. Anyway good luck with the doomsday bet.

I think you vastly underestimate the competitive advantages of the U.S. and the taxing ability of its government. The debt burden could be doubled without much sweat. Graph treasury yields even as QE was wound down to zero. I'm a bearish sort of guy but the guys who are still calling for doom and gloom since 2009 need to have a good look at themselves.

I know it's edgy and cool to be bearish and contrarian but I prefer to look at the facts. The USA still is the richest country in the history of the world. It's a technological, agricultural and energy superpower. The doom and gloomers focus on the liabilities side of the balance sheet without looking at the assets side. I'm not usually too hard on the betas but it's the passive aggressive sneaky types like your "close friend" that I despise. They are often also the ones which hold themselves out as men of honor and high morals.

It's a given and smart move in the workplace. You will frequently find alpha/redpill men at the top echelons of business but they are often are the "wolf in sheep's clothing" type. The type that heads the diversity/equality blah blah drive. You have to be, you avoid the external scrutiny and women and betas are needed in lower/middle management. Friends are a complete blind spot for many I suspect.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
