While I agree that, due to modern gender relations, its usually safer to avoid getting into any bother. In the long term both genders need each other for survival due to reproduction so this mentality will not survive. Of course people are free to live as they see fit.

While throughout history, leadership was almost always men. Women had a much larger say during times of prolonged peace due to less men being less needed by the military and aristocracy (like today) but this will likely change due to war brewing in the West.

I think this article forgets the fact that a large portion of modern (last few years) immigrants have been men. Also ask The Guardian on their opinion on men in any other topic that is about immigration and they'll give a very different answer.
