Because they're not going to treat you like a person. You're stable, and you have the capacity to bear her burdens. Any interest they show you will be based solely on those qualities. You're not a man, you're not a husband, you're not a father; you're a shelf onto which they can unload all the weight they're carrying. They look at you the same way someone who's carrying all the groceries looks at a countertop.

Look at her arms and shoulder/collarbone area. Not necessarily fat, but she knows there are girls in better shape out there than her.

They're slaves to their lizard brains because their lives don't require them to be anything more than that. Compassion is a big brain concept. Most people aren't going to develop past their needs, and women generally don't need to develop big brain concepts in order to succeed in life. Does a woman need to care about her husband in order to extract his resources? Does she need to care about her kids in order to give birth to them? Does she need to care about her patients in order to be a nurse? …

A girl I knew flat out admitted it. I asked her how things were going with so-and-so during a birthday party, and she said "Good, I guess. He's a nice guy, and I know I should settle down, but then I see you all with your kids and your happy families and I know I'd get bored really easily with it." Stability is boring compared to the carousel. It takes work to be okay with stability, and that work is infinitely harder if you've spent any time with the thrill of the carousel.

A profile doesn't need to be full of complaints to fit in here. Besides, she complained about hookups and sugarbabies, which wouldn't be the case if she hadn't already experienced such requests, or at the very least been flooded with them. In either case, it tells us she's been doing OLD for a while, which then speaks to how unsellable she is (whether it's her looks, her personality, her age, etc.). Kind of ironic considering she's a real estate agent.

Ah, I miss CringeAnarchy. Maybe a little too racist for my tastes, but someone there posted a link to this sub, which was the "I found my people" moment I'd been missing my whole life, so I have to acknowledge the good that came from that. In any case, I've made my contingency plans for when Reddit inevitably bans this and my other favorite subs. Ultimately, I don't like the idea of going back to fractured boards and websites, but it's better than losing this community entirely.

She made her bed, then let at least 36 guys sleep in it. No man worth his salt wants to wager half of his life just so he can sleep in those crusty sheets.

"Family oriented" just means she's baby crazy. It has nothing to do with developing the skills needed to carry her share of the load in a family, or making the right life decisions at the right times in her life to put herself in prime position to land a guy who's going to be a good husband and father.

I met a woman at work a while back. To compress the story down a bit, it turned out we were the same age, had the exact same interests (cars, guns, video games, computers, etc.), and followed an eerily similar path in life. She was also very smart and had the perfect sense of humor. I don't believe in soul mates, but if there were such a thing, she's the closest I've met (man or woman) to being a soul mate. But I'm married with kids, and she's married as well. She left a few years ago to go work…

Stop looking at women like they're the only source of fulfillment. Work on yourself. Find some new hobbies, take some classes, learn new things. In the late 2000s I was tired of striking out when it came to women, so I took a break for a couple of years. I learned to play the drums, took some classes to learn some Spanish and emergency response training, bought a motorcycle and learned to ride it (and then found out I much prefer cruisers over crotch rockets), started going to the gym again, etc…

Pro tip: If you're fat, never use a word that can be associated with food or eating to describe yourself, unless you're intentionally poking fun at yourself (which, incidentally, would've gone a long way in making her less unattractive).

There is no "She'll feel safe with me and the crazies will chill". There is no fixing her. A buddy of mine was like that. Completely jacked, tons of money, prestigious work history, etc., but it wasn't until he went through a divorce with a crazy one that he finally started to realize being a white knight actually sucks. For anyone who thinks they can or want to fix a woman like this, the only way she'll make your life better is if you plop her down on a couch, charge her a hundred bucks an hour…

I don't know what she's complaining about. She got pregnant, he stuck around to raise the kids, he intentionally didn't marry her because she wants to prioritize other things besides being a good wife and mom, she broke up with him when they were just about adults, and now she gets to put whatever she wants first. Which, judging by the fact that she kicked her kids out and attacked his wife, is herself. She came out ahead in every aspect of her life. Isn't that the best outcome she could ask for…

That does nothing for my lack of height and steadily disappearing hairline/thinning hair. Really can’t bring myself to cueball it yet. I mentioned self esteem issues - those are pretty big factors 🤷‍♂️ As someone who is 6'0" tall and has always had a thick head of hair, I'll tell you right now that they're useless without confidence. As corny as it sounds, you have to own your shortcomings (no pun intended). If you know baldness is in your future, just end it on your own terms and shave it all o…

They want the sympathy and attention that comes from having dated an abusive guy. The problem is that the supply of abuse and abusive guys falls well short of the demand for it. There's an economic concept/term that I can't remember the name of (it's been over a decade since I've dealt in anything economics-related), but there's the idea of replacement goods, the value one places on them compared to the value of the real thing, whether the replacement is worth the drop in quality and/or satisfac…

But you can't let them see all your cards. Some of the best advice my dad ever gave me was "The more people know about you, the more they can use against you." Not just for dating, but for life in general. No one else is looking out for you, and playing your whole hand just gives everyone else the information they need to treat you however they want. It's a lot harder for someone to push your buttons if they don't know what they are in the first place. As much as women cry about toxic masculinit…

You sound just like me: teen in the late '90s/early '00s, socially awkward, nerdy, nice guy always left wondering why it was only old ladies at church who thought I was a catch. But I hit my breaking point in my mid-20s and decided I would change my personality (to my credit, I didn't know about all this redpill stuff until after I was married, so my motivations were a little weak, even if the results were basically the same). I went from not wanting a serious relationship to dire need of one. Ah yes, the timeless, perfect start/motivation for marriage. One has to wonder why more and more men aren't interested in marriage when women like this are available.

Look at what happens to men and their capacity to actually adult when they develop man flu. I don't take anyone who still uses "adult" as a verb seriously. Anyway, I guessed after the first few sentences that this girl one of those fixer types. This one looks like it's a down sell on purpose. Now, whether it's a pity party in an attempt to get sympathy, or a "Screw it, let's try putting everything on the table and see what I get this time," or genuine ignorance about how men will actually react to so much baggage is anyone's call. Either way, the basic issue is that any of these can be a possibility in the first place.

Former lab assistant/phlebotomist who wanted a change in career. At 42. She decided at 42 that the lowest end of the medical field wasn't sufficient or satisfying enough. Hence: I prefer mature, hardworking, honest people. Because she is none of those things herself. What's sad is that I'm 35 as well, so I grew up in the exact same world as this girl. There was no social media that would've bombarded her with this nonsense when she was a teenager, at least not to the point that she would've absorbed so much of it that she'd still demand it as she closes in on 40. To have this kind of mentality at our age would've required her to waste every minute of her 20s gorging herself on social media and achieve literally nothing that would've satisfied her desire to b…

30 years ago, she would've been 21. That was in 1991, and I'm pretty sure people were finding each other and getting married in 1991. Doesn't matter if it's online, through personal ads, through a dating service, or in person. She's not single because she doesn't understand online dating, she's single because of the decisions she made in her most valuable years.

Two issues with that: 1) Tattoos are generally not indicative of smart decision-making. They add no value to a person, cost a lot of money (unless you're getting them from a friend who's still learning), and simultaneously do and do not last forever. 2) This is a woman who, by her own admission, chose (and would still choose) a guy who drinks microwaved beer and fights people on Craigslist over a guy with a PhD in chemistry, who was interested in her. It's like winning a poker tournament and the…

Yeah, I generally don't like to wish ill on people. At the same time, I don't blame the guy. Not to say that what he did was right, but hearing words from her mouth about her past and creating mental images of what she's done is VERY different from seeing what actually happened. How many people are going to hold it together and stay civil when a large part of their world crashes down around them, especially in that manner?

Nope, I'm the same way. Grammar was figuratively beat into me from a young age, and although I'm not perfect about it, blatant disregard for even the simplest of grammar rules irks me to no end. My guess is she typed everything on her phone, then either didn't realize that her phone wasn't automatically inserting spaces after the commas or just didn't care. And even if she's not "abusive" in the typical sense, the fact still remains that she prefers the attributes of abusive guys. Best case, she's going to be bored and unhappy with a guy who does not display these traits, and that guy will receive the brunt of her unhappiness. In any case, this woman is only going to be happy when she's unhappy. Even the most stalwart guy won't be able to endure that for long, especially considering what she's, ahem, offering.

I have never seen a woman in her 20s with a strategy for avoiding this fate What need is there for a strategy to avoid it when that lifestyle is sold to them as something that lasts forever? There's no need to plan for the future when the future supposedly consists of just existing and nothing more. They're already doing that; therefore, they've already planned for their future. nor do I see post-wall women offering advice to avoid it Because they don't actually care about others. It's meant as a challenge. The expectation is that the guy will say "Oh yeah? Well we'll just see about that!" and dance like the monkey she wants him to be. But in my experience, nothing gets them to drop the charade faster than not playing along. I remember one girl in particular who told me "I'm not ready to settle down, I'm only in college and there's too much more in life to experience first." My wife was 20 when we got married, but she was also a virgin with no debt. I won't say I've provided the perfect life, but she's always had access to money, a home, food, vehicles, etc. thanks to me (I think she's contributed maybe $1,000 to our finances in the decade we've been married). This girl probably could've had a similar "life w/ someone" if she'd exercised a little bit of self-control. Instead she threw it all away, and for what? In this context? He's just the guy she had a kid with, except he sticks around after she gets pregnant. I won't say exactly, but I have more than one, and none of them are teenagers quite yet. I noticed from a young age that a couple of them were/are particularly susceptible to the kinds of influences that would land them on Tinder (and subsequently, here), so I've been what modern whiny society would consider "tough" on them from pretty early on in their lives. Adult women are almost all on the same level as children in that regard. Nails aren't for guys, they're for other women. Same for makeup, jewelry, accessories, etc.: it's all easily visible, it's attention-grabbing, and it flaunts wealth (or, more accurately in most cases, the illusion of it), thereby elevating their status amongst their peers. It seems like a lot of us are defeated and should probably all date each other. Just kidding. Lol, that's actually a solid solution. But she knows full well that that would mean dating people she thinks are below her. Her ego's still too big for that. She's lonely, tired, and defeated, but not that lonely, tired, and defeated.

And I'm being honest. I don't know. I don't know how many men I've gone out with or how many men I've kissed or been intimate with or how many men I've lost to what was simply not meant to be. I don't count the men because, in the end, they are all one closer to one that will be the One. No, you don't count them because to do so would force you to realize how promiscuous you've been. It would force you to tally up the years of your life you wasted chasing present feelings instead of future secur…

When you've grown up in a society that constantly reinforces the idea that you're strong, independent, special, a kween, etc., then you have no incentive to try harder because you're already at the top. It's like that episode of Parks and Rec where Ron won the woman of the year award, and when Leslie gets on him about not having the right attitude about it, he says "Everything I do is the attitude of an award winner because I've won an award." In these girls' minds, everything they do is perfect…

Also if one doesn't need something what's the point of even mentioning that? It's all about her ego. She's gotta preserve some semblance of superiority, razor thin as it may be. "The other women on this app need a man. I merely want one; therefore, I'm not as desperate/insecure/low-value/whatever."

It's become a vestige of a decent society. They know there's a thing called HonestyTM and that it's supposedly a good thing, but most likely they've rarely/never encountered it in their lives. They've encountered plenty of AffirmationTM which has taken the place of honesty, but they're unaware that it's an inferior product wearing a stolen label. It's Coke Classic after the rollback of New Coke. It's Bioware under EA's ownership. It's a BMW 2-series. So when they actually do encounter an actual …

I bought a pretty decent house and a brand new car making $60k a year. Granted, I live in the Midwest, and the car was a deeply discounted Buick Encore, but still, living comfortably is very doable on $60k/yr.

Easy, just don't be entirely forthcoming about what you do. "I work in the medical field" or "I work at such-and-such hospital, but it's nothing big. Sometimes I'll check on patients, but I'm not a (insert high-paying specialty other than your own)." Downplay it; they're not gonna hype up a guy any more than he's hyping up himself. Besides, in my experience, just because you're a physician doesn't necessarily mean you have money. Between student loan debt, insurance, specialty, how long you've b…

If I was to reach out to him, what should I even say? Tell him the truth. And not that fake truth that's nothing more than blaming others for your current situation, hemming and hawing about the details of your life up to this point, and justification for your lousy personality and behavior. Tell him you rejected him because you thought you could do better, but now that you have 16-ish years of proof that you were wrong, you've come to grovel for the slightest of chances to leech off of him and …

I was 18 when I had my first serious boyfriend. We were together for five years. We shared a house and were in love, but we met too young. We grew apart. Imagine getting every ball right except the Powerball, then turning around and spending all of that prize money on more lottery tickets in hopes of getting the jackpot instead of being happy with a million dollars. That's what she did.

I want a serious relationship Funny how that part always comes after there's a kid in the picture. You don't want a serious relationship, you need one because you think you can't survive otherwise. But don't worry, your forebears have arranged a relationship for you with Daddy Government, so you'll be fine thanks to hard-working taxpayers like me. and i wanna build with you so dont break my walls "Let's build a house together! Man, that third-to-last paragraph is a treat. I like my family but we're not super close and as the middle child it does often seem like I'm pretty left out. Those are the words of someone who told you to feel that way, because 1) if you get along with your family then you're not going to be left out, and 2) it's not your family's responsibility to keep you entertained or included in every single thing you think you're missing out on. Have some responsibility over your own life, for heaven's sak…

She says men lie about their height, their age, and their intentions. Then she says: I know that I look younger than my age, so I'm not embarrassed to say I'm younger than I really am. I make myself about four years younger, max. And I do tell them that when we first meet. If lying like that is ok, then it should come as no surprise to her when she encounters men who do the exact same thing. "I look taller than my actual height, so I'm not embarrassed to say I'm taller than I am." Or, "I look li…

It's a feeble attempt to sound mature, or like she's finally got all her ducks in a row. That may have been her 10 years ago (or last year), but no more of that now, no sir! She thinks she's trying to weed out the guys who are undesirable, and even then it's only because a combination of society, being 30, and having three kids say they're undesirable. But we all know in reality that she'll give it up to a guy who pushes all the right buttons, just like she has at least three times before.

I'm a mother of 4 children that's not for everyone Lack of proper punctuation and grammar aside, that is a fair and correct statement. so no offence taken if your panicked This part, however, is not fair, because it pins a non-positive reaction on the guy when it's not his responsibility to be okay with taking care of five more mouths (none of which are his). She associates "panic" with disinterest, as though a guy who doesn't want to take on her situation is emotionally unable to handle it. It …

The only time I've ever used moisturizers was when I was a teenager and had really bad acne. Proactive got my skin cleared up but left it super dry, so I just used whatever lotion my mom had to keep my face from feeling like it'd crack if I moved it. These days, I just drink a lot of water and clean it with whatever shampoo I have on hand, usually a cheap bottle of Suave that could probably be marketed as a mild degreaser if they really wanted to. But I live in a pretty humid area, so except dur…

I would expect someone with that kind of title to know how to strip and seal floors, how to clean odd surfaces like rubber and stone, how to use floor machines, buffers, carpet cleaners, etc. Not saying there aren't any, but I've personally never met a woman who knows how to do all that.

Yeah, but 1) you'd have to actually go and pay attention to learn anything, and 2) they probably suck these days anyway. In high school, I had exactly one teacher who would dock points for misspellings and bad grammar, and that was 15+ years ago. I can only assume it's gotten worse since then.

I've seen maybe two women in my life who looked attractive with short hair (never one with the Sinead O'Connor cut, though). But even then, they were attractive because they were attractive; the short hair did nothing that longer hair wouldn't have done better.

I'm guessing it was one of these trains of thot: I have to say that I'm not looking for a hookup because I don't want to sound like a floozy. Whenever I use sex to attract a guy, I always end up alone. What should I do? Oh, I know! I'll try using sex to attract a guy!

All she had to do was keep her pants on, not pierce things that have no right being pierced, not get tattoos, find a decent guy while she's still young (she's pretty enough that that would not have been a problem at all), and she would've been set for life. Instead, she's three years into adulthood and her peak is already behind her. It's amazing how many of life's potholes these women will go out of their way to hit.

I can agree with that. The majority of the women I work with are button pushers: they're told to press a button, and they press it. That's the extent of their expertise. If they press it and something doesn't work, they have zero clue how to diagnose it. Heck, they have zero inclination to diagnose it. I'm the one that has to fix all that stuff; I don't want to have to do the same thing at home too.

Of course it factors in, but it really depends on the girl. Without knowing anything more about the two other than their looks and their income, I'd probably pick the waitress because she'll most likely either check more of my boxes or be in a better position to do so. For instance, I want kids, I want my wife to stay home with them, I want to homeschool them, etc. That can't be juggled with a job that pays six figures. Obviously that's going to vary from man to man, but the point is that the gi…

You'd be surprised how many guys think less of themselves than they should. A buddy of mine is like that: tall, muscular, charismatic, doesn't give two poops about anyone or their feelings, etc. But he's the biggest simp I've ever met, and he has almost zero confidence in his deserving of a high value woman. Judging by this guy's comments in the article, I'd suspect he's similar. "I stuck it out for a few hours hoping it would go somewhere" is not the attitude of a guy who's confident that he de…
