I would have thought the lawyer would use this to show your ex is unfit to care for kids... She left a bunny outside in winter and it froze to death, how can she take care of kids if she can't do something as basic as keeping animals inside during winter?

Agreed. If we're going down that road we can also argue it's good for a child to have his arm amputated or be forced to beg on the street for food after school because "hardship is good". I don't understand how these people can hear themselves say these things and not realize how messed up they are in their heads.
