The best way to handle this is stop viewing individuals as representitives of their gender, especially yourself. Don't think to yourself "men are good" or "most men are good", instead tell yourself that it doesn't matter if men are good because you are more than a man, you're your own person

When I say equality is not that important, it's because I prefer freedom over equality. In your example I personally wouldn't prefer a gender, but if a kindergarten wants to give the gummies only to the girls, it's their decision to make. If other kindergartens want to prefer boys, that's their choice too

I just think it is wrong to say they were in favor of equality. Personally I don't even think equality is all that important. Feminists might not have wanted equality, they just wanted a better life for themselves. In this time a better life was achievable by removing injustice, so it's a good thing they did it. I just wouldn't say equality was the end goal of those people
