Good question. I’ll admit that most of the time I see articles because they’re posted on here so it’s not a surprise that they’re all about women. I don’t follow those news outlets on twitter or Facebook so I can’t speak about teachers specifically but I know a lot of male (and female) social media influencers are getting called out so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same case for male teachers.

Idk 10 years for an off the dome comment seems pretty harsh. Is it wrong? Absolutely. I also understand that it could completely ruin someone’s life. That sucks. But I still think it’s too much to give immediately, especially if nothing negative happened to the person they accuse.

I’m not even gonna lie, when I first joined the sub it was to see the “gotcha” moments of women getting their “fair share” of punishment. I guess I started out similar to those red pill women haters you were talking about. This sub has a negative reputation but I think the root cause of calling out inequality is good. I think it’s hard to put yourself in the mindset of others for issues like this. I’m sure some guys who were assaulted carry the same trauma as women, but as someone who hasn’t and was 12 at one point it would be hard to deny that I would reject sex from an attractive female. I’m sorry for you, that must be pretty difficult to deal with. But I’m sure people wouldn’t just be focused on the wording (mainly because I think any article would be worded correctly but that’s none of my business). Im not sure what you want people to do. They’re calling out all forms of injustice, big and small. I would assume that covering all forms of inequality is preferable to only some.

I’m not sure if I’d call it useless, since it certainly spreads awareness. If it helps any I can assure you that when a similar scenario is brought up except the woman was not charged enough, this sub definitely will focus on that more wording. Even in this case (if you scroll enough) people are talking about how she’s probably not actually doing 12 years.

Yes, but not based on intention or the willingness of either party. Rape and sexual assault have differing connotations but at the end should be used correctly. Rape=penetration regardless of how it happened Sexual assault=basically anything else but not penetration

Well, at first I didn’t really get it because obviously I thought that if it was sexual than ofc sex would be the main reason. However the argument my health teacher gave me was this: often times young boys are victims. Not because the perpetrator was gay, but because they’re weak. Ofc young women are targets as well, but providing a reason as to why a straight person might want to rape someone of the same gender is difficult if you try to link it to sexual pleasure.
