Yeah, it's a tricky situation. As you note, the person who raises children is putting in a lot of work without a form of monetary compensation. This may or may not be an issue. The conservative view might emphasize the importance of an adult partner when starting a family. Traditionally, this would be a man and a woman, where the man has a "job" and the woman works taking care of the children. Here, it is the other adult member of the family who supports the rest. Of course this doesn't address …

Oh, I understand that. I'm just saying that his take on this specific instance has very similar logic to a conservative stance in reference to student loans.

Greetings, right wing visitor here. Not trying to be offensive at all when I say this- they're demand for being compensated for household work would require that taxpayer money get funneled into their bank accounts, tax payer money that could come from single hardworking men. In other words, it's a husband responsibility placed on men who aren't husbands. I find this outrageous, in much the same way that (I find) it is outrageous for blue collar people who did not go to college to be expected to…

Yeah, if someone said that I was "not a real man" I would take that as a giant red flag and seriously reconsider if I want to spend my valuable time with that person.

Wow. I'm sad to see this. This is the sort of attitude that made a teenage me develop unfavorable opinions of girls and women.

Probably not the best idea to quote Schopenhauer... I love him, but with his well documented disdain for women and physical abuse of a woman, it's likely going to be a distraction to bring him into the discussion.

That is certainly a problem, and I'm sorry you are in this position. I feel bad for anyone who self-censors for fear of rejection or mockery of ones peers. That said, at least you haven't internalized the idea that men are inherently bad (or whatever "more nuanced' position is being pushed). You may feel the need to hold back on expressing your beliefs, but that is better than truly believing you are somehow flawed based on immutable characteristics.

I truly hope that left-leaning men don't buy too much into this "check your privilege and shut your mouth" bs.

Let's say a white person has a certain privilege, a black person points this out. The white person says he didn't ask for this privilege, that it was his racist ancestors or racist politicians/members of the government that granted him this privilege that he didn't ask for. Does this sound familiar to you? Sorry, but no. I work side by side with people of all different colors and last thing on our minds is this sort of thing.

Thanks, I heard it read on the radio while at work so I guess I missed that part. Either that or I was busy picking my jaw off the floor at what I was hearing. I'd like to think that juries don't do that kind of bargaining and solely focus on what has been proven, but you're probably right. I wonder what holdouts could have been considering. All of her attempts at alleging abuse were clearly shown to be false from what I remember.

Just heard this on the radio. A jury in Northern Virginia decided in favor of Johnny Depp in his defamation suit against Amber Heard. I flaired this progress because it's not often you hear about consequences for those who bring false accusations. The jury also found that Depp had defamed Heard but did not award Heard anything.

There is a reflexive belief that going through an investigation and trial will stir up the trauma and possibly make a real victim live through the experience again. While that may be true, it's not a legitimate reason to take away another's due process.

Exactly right. It's an ideology that leaves no room for criticism and uses "patriarchy" as a catch all for real problems that deserve a more thoughtful analysis.

This will certainly be used as political ammunition by both sides of the debate. My understanding is the issue will become a state decision, so I'm bracing for debates and political mudslinging in states that have not already legislated on this issue. And yes, we will certain be the target of women's rights activists who paint this as old white men taking rights away from minority women. Of course that would ignore all the pro-life women who support this decision, but no one cares if criticisms …

Ah yes, because all people of any sex, size, color, or kink should have a safe space to discuss social issues that effect them... well, almost all. It would be pretty fucking absurd if this subreddit got banned. It's nothing like other "edgy" men's advocate groups, I've literally seen nothing offensive or misogynistic here in the months I've been lurking.

Well, it's a terrible policy imo. Genitalia should not be the basis for determining how trustworthy someone is. And this goes both ways, too. I know it's a bad example, but misogynists in the past have dismissed women as inherently untrustworthy- the example that comes to mind is rap lyrics where they talk about never trusting a btch and "bros before hs." Of course those sentiments are just as uncritical as the "believe women" sentiment. The reason I asked why OP thought our politicians would ma…

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Believe_women Well, if you believe Wikipedia, AOC and Kirsten Gillibrand both used varietions of the phrase. While the exact phrase may not have been used by all, it was a very common sentiment not too long ago. Edit: so apparently on that Wikipedia page they are claiming that the phraseology of "believe all women" instead of "believe woman" is problematic. If that's what your concern is, fine. Substitute "Remember 'believe all women'?" with "Remember the 'me too'…

Disclosure- I am anything but left wing. What makes you think democrats care at all about sexism towards men? Especially of that man was born male and is white? I've seen nothing but demonization from democrats. So much so that any claims of sexual misconduct on the part of a white man are thought to be prima facia true. Remember "believe all women"?

Yes, this is normal now for reddit. Moderators have bots that scan "wrong think" subreddits and they preemptively ban commenters from the other sub. Not saying that's what FDS does, but it's what a lot of the front page subreddits do.

Those people are not talking to you because they want a productive discussion, they are trying to "win" a debate with you. Unfortunately "winning" a debate on social media largely comes down to who can pandering to the mainstream views of the online community better.

There are numerous well thought out, articulate comments in this thread. Then I saw this (which was not downvoted at the time), so I wanted to be supportive. But to be specific, I'm talking about the comments that are pointing out how people shut down conversation and dismiss the problems of groups of people who are deemed "privileged" solely based on immutable physical characteristics without giving consideration to people as individuals who deserve dignity and respect regardless of sex, race, …

Claiming a name doesn't mean you have to be associated with that name's exact meaning which is why I brought up feminism. I remember. I chose to ignore that argument because it was pretty dumb. Anyway, what do you think puer means?

Your point isn't being made. No, it was made. You're just not in a position to understand that words have meanings. See, you call yourselves "puerarchy" which literally means "power in the hands of little boys." But perhaps you're right. I assumed that you all were the little boys, perhaps you're grown adults who want to put yourselves in the hands of little boys? Is that what your aim is? Anyways let's address your obsession with the red pill. Why is it that you feel the need to follow our disc…

Oh I see what you are talking about now. I don't think ya do, ya big goof. So since we are puerarchy that must mean we are all children and not be out being manly and shit. Just like feminism must be about women being feminine and not fat hair cows. See?

Does that make you smart all of a sudden? Smarter than you, yes. Not because I know a Latin word or two, but because the word is found in the fucking sidebar of this subreddit. In fact, your "off-reddit site" is called "puerarchy.com." If y'all are gonna use the word, don't get offended when you're called pueri, ya bunch of pueri. I'm not really sure Admitting your own ignorance is beta as fuck.

The best you have is to try to shame us by saying we are children? You self-identify as pueri. You do know the meaning of that word, right? You shamed yourself.

I did read, people talk about women not voting and sex with 18 yr olds, anyways wasnt here to argue. To be fair, though, most Red Pillers aren't old enough to vote themselves, so 18 y/o women are actually their seniors.
