Exactly, having a bit of an ego is generally a good thing and it's good to reinforce/strengthen that ego by admiring and improving yourself. Although there comes a point were too much ego will hinder you socially rather than help you and some people fail to realize where that line is. Most of those people are the ones with fragile egos though.

I have two concerns/questions: Are dinners really that cheesy and out of style for the first time out with the girl? As long as you don't pamper her (make her pay her own way & not make a big deal of it) and do proper escalation then I don't see a problem. What is your opinion on escalating with people around? I'm more of a George Strait, Alan Jackson, Hank Williams Jr. kinda country fan but I still listen to some of the new stuff because I like the quicker nature of the beat. I enjoy a lot of the older stuff because I know it's from a different time and they may not have know any better, or at least that's how I justify it. But the new stuff is so blatantly blue pill thinly veiled under masculine interests like pick up tucks, booze, and bros, which I just find hard to listen to.

I'm an outdoorsy person so I usually take a girl on a hike. You can control the time of the date and you can get them alone if things are going well based on your knowledge of the trails (which is totally alpha). Although sometimes girls that I just met do get weirded out about a walk in the woods with a guy but I take that risk.
