It sounds like you and I share similar circumstances, so maybe I can offer some insight. I'm also 26, and take care of all the household cooking/shopping/meal prep. My partner is also trying to lose weight, and has asked me to manage his diet plan. How we differ is that I was very excited when Sweetie asked for my help! Like you, I love cooking, and being able to help him acheive a goal by doing something I already enjoy made me feel extremely proud and valued. You say your concern is that he is…

I'm a twin, which is supposed to mean my sibling and I can communicate telepathically. ;) Sweetie is the oldest of two, but I've dated guys from a pretty wide variety of family groups. The ones I liked the least we're only children. All I can say on the topic is that I'm actively put off by guys with physical traits that remind me of my brother (tall, blonde, lanky). He's the spitting image of my dad, if that helps.

I'm incredibly grateful for the fact that, even though money is going to be tight for a while, we were able to afford the dental work I desperately needed. On that note, I'm grateful to have such a kind, patient man as my dentist. Having dental work done scares me terribly, and he's been wonderful to deal with. He even lowered the cost of the procedure, because he knows Sweetie and I don't have a lot of savings right now. This guy knows how to keep his patients coming back. I'm grateful to have …

I'd love it if minions went away forever. They were kinda cute when I first saw them, but now they're everywhere. I'm done.

1) Being able to participate in my first Gratituesday! :) Finding this subreddit has been such an eye opening experience for me. I'm greatful this amazing community exists. 2) My wonderful partner, and how he never fails to make me feel appreciated. I was fussing over a load of laundry I didn't get done, and he expressed sincere astonishment that I was focused on the one thing I didn't finish yesterday, instead of all the things I did . What a doll! 3) My chest freezer! I've never had this much …

I never understood why in some places, it's normal to wear your shoes inside. Why would you want all that dirt and nastiness tracked through your home?!

I really hate it when people name their children after places! I don't know why it bothers me so much, but as far as I'm concerned, names like London, Dallas, and Asia sound just plain ridiculous.

I laughed at your brooding inner monologue. I can definitely related! XD Thanks for the advice. You're right, sometimes garbage is just garbage.

Thank you for the very practical advice. :) I hate how the eye rolling and sighing are things I do without even thinking anymore. Im going to keep working on that. The garbage really isn't a big deal. You're right, I should just take care of it because it needs to be done.

So this isn't a behavior to address, it's a personality traits I need to make a call on...gotcha. thanks for the advice. I am NC with my abuser, and I'm doing everything possible to move past it. I offered the information only as a way to explain that I don't really have a model for what a healthy relationship looks like, in the hopes that if I'm making any obvious mistakes, someone would correct me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
