That’s not a metoo issue. I was 12 the first time I was sexually harassed. Most women had experiences like that long before they were 18. Then as adults in the workforce it gets murkier, if your boss puts his hand on the small of your back what can you say about that without risking your job? This is a side effect of a high enough population, not something inherent about men. Every woman has a story like this. One person can victimize thousands of people if they are determined enough. For every …

Yeah because men still subconsciously think of women as property Not property but belonging to each other regardless. Unless you want to start saying people in a relationship think of each other as their property for saying "my girlfriend, my boyfriend, my wife, my husband ... etc." and he doesn't want to divulge the details of "his" woman to a potential thief (other men). You say this as if it is a bad thing. He doesn't care about women he doesn't want. At least not in the romantic way. Again, …

Actually studies show single women on average are happier than married women No they don't. The articles saying this lead back to Paul Dolan's misreading of the American Time Use Survey which had married women as the happiest demographic of women. the reverse is true though gender wise This is true in part because divorced men are included in the pool of single men. Divorced men are the most unhappiest demographic of men and are most at risk for suicide.

This is completely normal amongst gay men, lesbians, and straight women. Why straight men are so hung up over it is its own mystery. Usually the more a man romantically cares about a woman, the less of that woman's sexuality he wants shared with others. You'll get the dirty details from a man when he doesn't care about a woman that way (i.e. hookups, one night stands, and FWBs).

It's literally a well known fact. What specifically are you claiming is a well known fact? Do an ounce of research on the topic. I have. Hell, I reported mine and you know where it went, fucking nowhere. Do you think your assailant only ever assaulted you? If anything, I added to the false accusation statistics, which I now firmly believe are inflated because of shit cops. I just got told over and over I was a liar, and why am I lying? You would have only added to the unknown stats. Them calling…

None of what you said negates anything I said. That means there are MILLIONS of rapists just casually walking around. You can not justify that conclusion with self reported data and an unknown number of assailants. You also have to remember, the vast majority of rapes aren't reported or talked about. How do you know this?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 09:40 PM

If it's such a small percentage of men, how have 1 in 6 women American women been victims of attempted or completed rape? Seems like a lot to me. That number is self reported and 1 person can rape many people. It's not as if all instances are committed by unique individuals. It is already known most violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders. Old stat, but still noteworthy: As of 1998, an estimated 17.7 million American women had been victims of attempted or completed rape (2.78 million me…

We are done. You’re arguing in bad faith. I do not think that means what you think it means. The cases that are brought, show what the rate of false reporting is. And I can’t find any that show 10% the highest I found was 8% nevertheless… The estimates tend to be 2-8%. Since you mention 10% I think you misunderstood the "90-96% of rape accusations are unknown" part of one of my previous comments. You have 3 possibilities. Accusation is proven true, accusation is proven false, and accusation vera…

How would you get that data? Do you hook a woman up to a lie detector when she calls a rape crisis line? You look at instances that have been investigated. I've mentioned this several times but the FBI crime statistics has the number of crimes reported and how they were resolved. That is data. Because they’re not going to go to the police. And the reason they don’t go to the police is because only 3% of rapists are a day in jail and SHE And every move she made will be on trial right along with t…

So it wouldn’t matter how much data I gave you you dispute the data. Kind of like talking to an anti-VAX with a Trumper or flat earther. Except it's the exact opposite. You did not give good data with regards to our discussion. No I said if they were CONVICTED they were almost guaranteed to be guilty. I did not say accused. You’re mistaken. Your comment I replied to first said "5% of rape accusations are false. The rest…you just get no justice." That's clearly talking about accusations, not convictions. What it takes to get a rape conviction is insane. It's difficult, not insane. This is a good thing. Beyond a reasonable doubt is to ensure the wrong person is not put in prison. Most rapists never serve a day in jail. H…

Unknown to who the woman? To the justice system. Are you crazy? If only 5% or false the 95% are real what planet do you live on where you don’t understand math? When people discuss false accusations, what they tend to be referencing are unfounded accusations. The rule is the body count. True. More specifically, "High body count is unattractive for a relationship to me". The expectation is the number of people high or low. To be the same rule applied faily it would be everyone low or everyone high. Not true. Horseshit. Jingoism was the flavor of the day in WWI and WWII and men and women obediently and enthusiastically queued up to support the war effort. Propaganda continues to influence young men to join the military and it's pervasive and relentless. During the time of WWI and WWII young men did not have access to true-to-life depictions of war. Well yeah, because height isn’t a choice whereas promiscuity is. The point of hypocrisy—which the people disagreeing with OP are missing entirely—is when one shames choices in others that they actively do themselves. Your definition of hypocrisy is off. It does not matter if it is a choice nor does it have to be shamed. Hypocrisy is a person having X, thinking people having X are Y, but not believing they themselves are Y even though they have X. Very very few people report false reports. Even less reports are proven to be true. The likelihood of the person accused being guilty is extremely high even though they will most likely be acquitted or not convicted because of lack of evidence. No it isn't. I’m probably not going to convince you on this, though. Likely true. Looks like this is a fundamental difference in how we view unique personhood. I view it more like each instance is a clone. Yeah this is universal. Men don’t want to expose their daughters to men because “men know how men are”. It's not a "men in general" thing. It's a "it only takes one" thing. Must be difficult to live with that level of disgust and mistrust for one’s own gender. Men don't tend to have disgust and mistrust for men as a whole.

I think we should remember he’s sought out a relationship where his voice always matters more than hers which I think suggests he’s looking for power and control. I'd say that is a flawed assumption. Imagine a two party structure where one side is restricted from ever having more than 49% of the votes, their votes don’t matter, just like her voice doesn’t matter. That comparison doesn't work as having only 49% of the vote means you can affect nothing but the woman's voice can sway the man's deci…

Part of giving good advice is recognizing the people asking for advice may not know how to ask for what want or may not be sure what they want. If a friend asks how to return their recently bought gpu and you simply give them instructions without further clarification, you have technically answered their question but you likely did not provide good advice without further clarifying questions or answering the unanswered but obvious questions. I understand analogies perfectly fine, it’s just that the analogy in this particular instance betrays a view that’s not very desirable to most people. Such as? To gain a nuanced view on people, which is what you want, you need to ask multiple people. Actually I'd say he values it the least. If you want sex, just sex, with anyone who will have you, how is that valuable? That's desperation. Desperation by definition means you value it higher than things for which you are not desperate. For instance, a human dying of thirst is desperate for water. Objectification and using humans as a means to an end is bad. That's a nice platitude but if you think about it you cannot have boundaries if this is the case. "Using humans as a means to an end" is getting something out of interacting with a person. If that is bad then doing anything involving another person that is non-altruistic is bad. That also means expecting basic decency from a person is bad because you are trying to get something out of that person.

Women can get resentful toward men, but generally see them as equals and don’t view them as “not worth my time unless they’re directly giving me something.” This is incorrect. I see it enough in these manosphere podcasts and their comments that it is worthy of note, or at least I think so. It feels like a damning self report to declare that you're not at all concerned with somebody's level of education, career goals or earning potential as long as they are good looking It's probably because many men care more about intelligence more than certifications of intelligence. I prefer to date intelligent women. I also am aware that people can be intelligent with or without a degree. T…

This is a false dichotomy. There was no other choice. She dumped a "wonderful" man for being single. It's totally her right but at least get the situation correct. Are you sure you're in the right thread? This is about a guy wanting a fwb over a friend.

All you’re really proving is the misogynistic assumption that all men value from women is sex and if so they are in for a very lonely life with no real fulfilling relationships the opposite sex. No, they are proving that given the choice of A or A plus extra men will pick A plus extra. It's what rational people tend to do.

Oh you’re a pseudo-intellectual, lmfaoooo. Okay anyways: The title doesn’t say that I’ve already fulfilled the burden of proof demonstrating why that definition is inherently predicated on what OP proposed, so if you have a contention then display it. It says Yeah I quite literally just refuted that, lol. Why are you repeating yourself? Do you have a learning disability or something? Are you not aware that saying "why is there anger among men" indicates the anger is coming from the men in questi…

hy·poc·ri·sy /həˈpäkrəsē/ Learn to pronounce noun the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense. Saying ”why is there anger among men who are promiscuous but don’t want to date a woman who does the same” invokes a propositional contradiction. Do you have a contention against that? The title doesn't say that. It says: Why all the anger when a guy who is probably promiscuous doesn’t want to date a woman who is the same? The anger…

It literally falls under the definition of hypocrisy, lmao. It doesn't. What is the definition of hypocrisy you are using?

Its hypocritical for a fat person to say they'll only date skinny people, or for a smoaker to say they'll only date people who don't smoke. It quite literally is rules for thee but not for me. And though I can't stop you from doing that I can totally thing you're a shit person for it No, it isn't. It's hypocrital for a fat person say they'll only date skinny people because fat people are bad, but they themselves are not bad even though they are fat. Same idea goes for smoking. Using your version…

I would say it’s not hypocritical. You'd be wrong, words have definitions and this is the definition of hypocritical. Rules for thee but not for me. What's funny is you and most of the other comments I've seen mentioning hypocrisy here are wrong. Hypocrisy has to do with how a person presents themselves. It has nothing to do with what they want or like. The following are the first few sentences from the Wikipedia page for "Hypocrisy". Hypocrisy is the practice of engaging in the same behavior or…

The evidence shows otherwise, however it’s much easier to blame it on that instead of admitting that you didn’t even make an attempt. With your reasoning in mind, would you say women are not sexually harassed or raped in higher numbers than reported to the police? After all, using your reasoning, the reason women would not report a sexual assault or rape would be because it didn't happen. The possibility some victimized women don't want to go through a situation with a high emotional and mental …

Instead of trying to learn the game by playing it, they just want to read the strategy guide and then use the meta. Which is not to say the pills are the meta, they are just something they can tell themselves is the meta. This sounds wierd as an admonishment. Pretty much everything people learn today is via a strategy guide. Otherwise math student would not learn from a textbook. They would be told to just figure it out. Why do people train at boxing gyms? They should just figure it out on their…

sounds like there's no reason to ever be around men because that's fuckin gross. It is only gross when presented poorly and misunderstood. When men say they only talk to women because of the potential for sex a lot is being left out of the statement. Unless you are the type of person that enjoys talking to new people for the sake of it, most people want to talk to people they find interesting, whose company they enjoy, or find attractive and want to bang. When dealing with new people you don't k…

It's time for men to have a century like women had, in which standards and expectations evolve to adapt to new conditions. This has already happened. Men's behavior did not remain static while women's behavior changed. Evolving standards and expectations are what led to men behaving the way that is being complained about.
